I hope the medics get your DH sorted very soon Groovee . What a horrible time you've had.

I got my blue envelope today. Vaccine appointment on March 4! I'm in my 50s East Dunbartonshire. Yesterday I drove DS to his gfs in Dundee intending to pick him up again on March 5th -(non-cohabiting relationship) . Then he's back to London on 8th. His gf has been allowed to use the art school studios since last week, which presumably poses far and away the biggest risk I currently have as a working from home household of getting covid, albeit still a small one, so I told him to go straight down to London from Dundee instead of coming home for the weekend. If Nipoleon has her way goodness knows when I'll next see him. SadIt's definitely best for my peace of mind though. How especially annoying would it be to get COVID the day after being vaccinated?

shouldistop · 27/02/2021 18:13

@mibbelucieachwell that's great! My mil has her appointment through, just waiting for dm, step dad & dh.

shouldistop · 27/02/2021 18:14

Well and me but I'm in my early 30s with no health conditions so I'll be a while, not fussed for me anyway tbh. Although I'll take it when offered.

AgentCooper · 27/02/2021 18:38

DH should be getting his letter soon, I think, now that they’re talking about the under 50s. He’s 45 and I’m 35 so I’ll be waiting a while longer! Both had Covid already anyway, not that long ago.

Sootess · 27/02/2021 18:57

Great news that some areas are now vaccinating people in 50s. They're certainly cracking on through the queue!
Really hoping mid 50s DH gets appointment soon! I've had mine (nhs) and getting 2nd dose very soon

StatisticallyChallenged · 27/02/2021 18:58

I think DH should be soon too, he has epilepsy. BiL is in London and has already been called (39 but also epileptic)

Lidlfix · 27/02/2021 19:08

I hope DH and I get letters soon as we are both in occupations that are frequently mentioned as ones which should be prioritised but are going to be. Both mid forties with no conditions.

My fear of contracting Covid is not being really ill , and I do worry that some younger fit people can be and also can have long Covid , if I was off for isolation purposes it would have a significant impact on my senior pupils who I want to spend every possible minute with when I can. DH is also vital in his sector.

I've no antibodies (was part of the study) and my school and DD's have continued to have cases in the hub provision.

Lidlfix · 27/02/2021 19:09

Not going to be. Wish there was an edit function.

Well, i might be a cynical old atheist, but these dancing nuns have put a smile on my face Smile

I guess now that a third of the adult population have been done, we must all be seeing friends and family getting theirs. Some of my older siblings and partners have been done or have appointments. DH getting his next week. We don't have anyone in our family with underlying health issues so it's just working down the age order although we are all in different councils also.

Chasingamy · 27/02/2021 19:32

@AgentCooper sorry long delay! Started back yesterday but was unsettled and upset so she’s got to do more small sessions next week to try and build up. I think crying is totally normal last summer I tried to be all positive so she had good vibes but after handing her over and making it to the gate I was blubbing. They’re so tiny I just think it’s horrible especially when you can’t explain what is happening

Chasingamy · 27/02/2021 19:33

Just catching up and so great to hear so many people are getting their vaccination appointments Smile

Sootess · 27/02/2021 19:40

I'm finding I'm getting more impatient now for people around me to get the vaccine!! The only other one in our family so far is FIL in 80s (and we don't see him often as not in Scotland). All friends and family are waiting in the age group queue.
At work all my colleagues, and increasing amount patients now, have had the jab.
What the Queen said is true, you do feel protected once you've had it. But I'm very aware no-one else around me is at the moment! Hopefully that will change very soon.

That's when I have my jag too.
Groovee · 27/02/2021 19:48

Been out with dd and ds. Our local area were having a window wanderland! Been really nice chatting with them and getting free hot chocolate from a local business and seeing how artistic people are x

shouldistop · 27/02/2021 19:50

We walked down to the west end today, got a takeaway and ds played in play park. Killed half a day and was a nice change Smile

jabbathebutt · 27/02/2021 20:11

fucking jason leitch on my telly AGAIN

I'm early 40s so no jag yet for me even though GP said I was vulnerable.

Its not the jag that's the issue for me really, its the restrictions. i can't follow them, masks etc, so I need them to get to fuck before I will feel safe.

Groovee · 27/02/2021 20:17

@jabbathebutt quite a few of my friends are getting their appointments in their early 40's. I am too.

noname55 · 27/02/2021 20:19

My grandparents and mum have all been vaccinated.
Spent the day at the park, freezing but glad to get out. Takeaway tomorrow night as the Saturday waiting times have been crazy.

Icannever · 27/02/2021 20:39

Stuck in Fife so who knows when we’ll get our vaccines (42)
My dad who’s over 67 has had his but my mum who’s 64 hasn’t yet so not expecting it any time soon
Fife is however lovely and sunny today (and full of big groups of old vaccinated people hanging around in the sun chatting and drinking tea 😀)

littlbrowndog · 27/02/2021 21:06

Looked a bit normal today. Everyone out and about in the sun. Felt so much better than the grim days

Oh jabba I hope you get your jab soon

My parents haven’t had their yet. My grandparents have

icanboogieboogiewoogie · 27/02/2021 21:42

Sorry, just jumping in on the B&Q chat from earlier. Will we be able to go in as a family of 4? DH and I have abandoned any pretence of youth and were thinking about getting some plants for the garden but both want to choose. And apparently it's bad form to leave the toddlers in the car alone while you shop sadly.
I know you're meant to shop alone but there were plenty of families in Sainsbury's today.

WaxOnFeckOff · 27/02/2021 21:50

I think I would enter as two separate groups of 1 adult and 1 child and if you happen to bump into each other in the plant area, which is generally outside anyway, then wouldn't that be a coincidence?

Then I'd head back to car with both DC and leave DH to pay...

Groovee · 27/02/2021 22:22

Mr G has an infection on his liver. They are putting a drain in tomorrow.
