Looks like railing is still needed.

Here is the judgment feee zone to do it.

@AgentCooper we've done all our settling outdoors. Then gradually taken them indoors as the weather was nice enough. The toilets are indoors so they do get to get a glimpse of inside.

It totally goes against everything that we want for our children that come to our setting. But indoors is so small even for our staffing levels.

The staff will be as supportive as they can I am sure. I've struggled not being able to give that supportive touch to a parent. This whole way is not my practice in early years. It's such a struggle.

WaxOnFeckOff · 26/02/2021 08:05

As I understand, the lateral flow that nhs staff complete doesn't count in the figures, but if they have a positive result they get a pcr which does count, I think. Someone else may know for certain.

Sootess · 26/02/2021 08:13

@Nipoleonthenoncommital

Does anyone know what percentage of tests are nhs tests? I find it objectionable that life is being 'cancelled' based upon a disproportionate number high of positive tests taken in Covid breeding grounds.
But they never give us any details on where the cases are coming from! The only time I can really think they've gone into details was a couple of meat packing workplace outbreaks and the Aberdeen pub crawl last summer. If journalists ask at the daily briefing they get waffle about "what test and trace tell us is it's shopping and household mixing". They don't say that 90 of the Lothian cases are in Addiewell prison or other such useful information!
shouldistop · 26/02/2021 08:14

It wouldn't suit them to tell us the cases were coming from hospitals etc. as then it's not the feckless public's fault.

I didn't think these were recorded either. These are now available to many teachers and school workers too (optional not mandatory) so if they were recording these surely the relative % would potentially fall without changing (more daily tests being carried out?)
Lockdownbear · 26/02/2021 08:22

I think it's a lot of scare tactics. Controlling people by fear. They know if they tell everyone that the majority of the cases are in prisons or in hospitals people will ignore if they aren't already ignoring.

There is definitely an element of people dropping their SD guard after the vaccines too.

So it just adds fuel to the argument for getting all kids back in school. Why should S1-3 be at home when the vaccinated Grannys are popping in and out of houses?

PoloMintPatty · 26/02/2021 08:23

@Lockdownbear what have I missed on s1-3? The comments by JL or something else too? I have skin in this game!

WouldBeGood · 26/02/2021 08:35

They’ve said s1-3 last to go back and no date.

The only date is the start of the “third and final school reopening” after Easter. No actual date, younger secondary last, and possibly (likely?) part
time

Thanks! That's what I understood too. Expecting 19th April return here. But would be happy if there were an acceleration of that. Not sure if I could say the same about the teenager... Grin
Lockdownbear · 26/02/2021 08:38

JL and his they might not be back for a wee while meaning 5th April (start of holidays) but we might get them back sooner. He's kept it open that he can pull the date forward.

Its also mental that the afterschools are expecting to open 15th March too.
Today paper's are full of AS stuff. But they weren't happy with the lack of hope the other day. Jim Sillers is telling people not to vote SNP.

It all being a big game I think SG will U turn on the S1-3 to deflect the other issues.

PoloMintPatty · 26/02/2021 08:38

Woah!!! Hold. The. Bus.

Are we saying after Easter AND part time???

WouldBeGood · 26/02/2021 08:40

Yes.

And likely older ones in first after Easter, then s1-3

OP posts:
Lockdownbear · 26/02/2021 08:41

I've definitely not seen any part-time suggestions.
I can't see how that would work. Any more than I could see how it would work last summer when first suggested.

WouldBeGood · 26/02/2021 08:44

It is being suggested as they are saying social distancing will be required for secondary pupils so they couldn’t all be in

Ah ffs. Can you tell I missed that memo? I have no upper secondary kids. So it's the S1-3 announcement I'm all about. Poor kids.

Does anyone know how many are being vaccinated daily in Scotland now?

PoloMintPatty · 26/02/2021 08:48

@WouldBeGood

scunnered with this now. I have a day off today but I'm thinking it's too early for wine & chocolate.

The day is young though....

PoloMintPatty · 26/02/2021 08:49

@shouldistop

I don't but they must be starting to get near the point of going back round the nursing homes and nhs for the booster shot?

shouldistop · 26/02/2021 08:51

@PoloMintPatty so I suppose that will slow down the number of people receiving their first doses.

WaxOnFeckOff · 26/02/2021 08:52

I think it's in the 20 thousands again but we were told about a slowdown in supply and that slowdown is mirrored across the UK so everyone is currently around the same level of vaccination.
WaxOnFeckOff · 26/02/2021 08:54

Just checked and was nearly 28k yesterday.

NHS are getting 2nd dose now so I imagine care homes will be starting too

shouldistop · 26/02/2021 08:57

Thanks guys, I thought it looked like it had slowed down a lot.
I've noticed cases are rising again in EDC Sad there's no way we'll be allowed into level 2, we'll be lucky with level 3.
