Looks like railing is still needed.

Here is the judgment feee zone to do it.

@Lockdownbear it's hard for them isn't it. Ds1 was back on Monday, ran straight in but was very emotional on Monday evening.

rookiemere · 25/02/2021 21:14

@AgentCooper big issue with Tier 3 is not allowed outside your own area. I'd love to have the gym and restaurants open, but I jus feel so hemmed in without being allowed to drive to say North Berwick or Peebles for the day.
I'm just hoping that Tiers are a moot point and only in place until election votes needed until more vaccinated and numbers go down.

Sweetpotatoaddict · 25/02/2021 21:21

And I’ll continue to bore on.......if this is a disease of high density living, and obesity. Then why on earth confine us to our areas, and restrict the exercise available to us.
There’s an article from an Edinburgh uni professor mentioning that all the summer travel to the highlands never caused an outbreak. Suggesting that setting us a bit more free while restricting hospitality shouldn’t cause outbreaks in rural areas, but might cheer up a lot of rather miserable locked in central belters. Improve health and well-being.
It’s bad day when you have a map and a compass out trying to figure out where is 5 miles from your authority boundary.

WouldBeGood · 25/02/2021 21:25

I just ignore that and go where I want within reason.

WouldBeGood · 25/02/2021 21:25

Not anything bad

OP posts:
AgentCooper · 25/02/2021 21:33

@rookiemere ah that’s right Sad that was miserable.

@Lockdownbear I hope your wee one is getting on ok now. Mine has never been to nursery before and he’s 3. He’s never been anywhere without me/his dad/his grandparents. No toddler group since March last year. Aaargh.

OldRailer · 25/02/2021 21:41

Agree sweet potato. Messaging encouraging people to stay home now seems a bit misguided. And means you are more likely to infect family members by the way.

Fresh air should be promoted. (Not always appealing in our climate I know!)

Those stress inducing adverts guilting me because I walk out and chat with a friend rather than being a proper jogger!Hmm

Chasingamy · 25/02/2021 21:43

@AgentCooper it’s so bad isn’t it we’re the same have to just hand our toddler over at the door when she doesn’t know everyone or have a clue what’s going on. I feel so bad about it. She was in for a bit last summer but I think this time is going to be even harder. She seems terrified of other people at the moment!

Chasingamy · 25/02/2021 21:45

@Sweetpotatoaddict I’m sure there was something similar about the busy beach photos that made it into the media. Despite looking very busy and everyone slamming them I don’t think there was any evidence it was spread there?

WouldBeGood · 25/02/2021 21:48

Full on railing now having seen this from the dentist - s1 - s3 “might not be back for a while”

@WouldBeGood that's rotten Sad

icanboogieboogiewoogie · 25/02/2021 22:05

It's always a 'little' while. Just a 'wee bit' more. Even a week feels like a lifetime but it's always 'a wee while'. Angry

PoloMintPatty · 25/02/2021 22:13

@Lockdownbear

Ie is Lanarkshire HB purely N&S Lanarkshire or does it include other bits.
@Lockdownbear

don't know if anyone answered this but my understanding is yes. It is just these areas, primarily covered by Hairmyres, Wishaw & Monklands hospitals

WouldBeGood · 25/02/2021 22:17

So he’s unlikely to be back in school for any significant time before the summer holidays, if at all.

OP posts:
Sweetpotatoaddict · 25/02/2021 22:33

@Chasingamy yeah I think you are right. I read it somewhere but not sure where.
I would love to know if they had any evidence of outdoor spread when distancing is adhered to. I feel initially we knew so much, but that level of knowledge doesn’t seem to have advanced much.

WouldBeGood · 25/02/2021 22:39

There’s no evidence of outdoor spread

@Chasingamy oh I’m sorry you’re in the same position, it’s utter shite. Is your wee one back already? I just have no idea how the fuck it’s going to work. My DS is highly strung at the best of times. Expecting a three year old to leave their mum at the door of a building they have never been in, to go with people they don’t know. I am just feeling so anxious. Trying my best not to show it. We watched the virtual tour of the nursery and he was definitely interested, which was good. But I can’t go any further than the bloody garden with him. I’m ashamed to say I ended up crying on the phone to his keyworker the other day and she did sound really lovely. He’s just never been anywhere without someone he knows and missed out on so much experience of being around lots of other kids and adults due to the playgroups never reopening.

AgentCooper · 25/02/2021 22:57

That’s fucking unbelievable about S1-S3. What do they think they’re playing at?

WouldBeGood · 25/02/2021 23:04

I don’t know @AgentCooper. And I don’t know what to do about it.

Does anyone know what percentage of tests are nhs tests? I find it objectionable that life is being 'cancelled' based upon a disproportionate number high of positive tests taken in Covid breeding grounds.

Lockdownbear · 26/02/2021 07:32

I think the pressure off S1-3 is mounting I'm expecting a last minute U turn and them going back on the 15th with the rest. They didn't expect such a negative reaction from the papers.
It might also be something they can use to shift AS off the front pages.

I still feel the vaccine should be focused on covid breeding grounds. If that means the prison population get them now then why on earth not? The sooner the numbers are down the better.

icanboogieboogiewoogie · 26/02/2021 07:32

I thought they were all NHS ones. The folk I know who take PCR tests with their work have to follow up a positive result with an NHS test to confirm if.

icanboogieboogiewoogie · 26/02/2021 07:34

I agree that the prison population should get it now. I wouldn't imagine distancing is possible and ventilation may not always be practical.

shouldistop · 26/02/2021 07:35

@Nipoleonthenoncommital do you mean nhs staff?

Nipoleonthenoncommital · 26/02/2021 07:42

I did. Should have clarified, sorry.
