@WaxOnFeckOff I've just remembered we've got one on our campervan! We diligently put it on for our European travels to look like good guys after Brexit.
That's going right in the bin.

tacticalicious · 18/02/2021 16:16

Round here there is a definite
"Let's band together to keep the SNP out" style canvassing, and it works!

WaxOnFeckOff · 18/02/2021 16:17

Best way to look like a good guy is to be a good guy :)

tacticalicious · 18/02/2021 16:26

There's a definite feeling if they got in all the neighbours would be glaring at each other thinking "who's fault was this"Grin

shouldistop · 18/02/2021 16:31

It really annoys me that our flag is now seen as a political statement

rookiemere · 18/02/2021 16:35

I think it's nice when you can tactically vote without feeling like a terrible person for voting against your beliefs. In the last GE it was easy - straight fight between SNP and Labour and the Labour candidate Ian Murray genuinely active in the local community and critical of Corbyn , so an easy decision.

In other news I may or may not have fallen out with our neighbours. In normal times we get on really well - they are SNP supporter and we are not but there we go.

Anyway general chat about life, was saying was worried about DS but there you go when neighbour comes out with " Still it's better than people dying" which just winds me up as it's such a patronising put down platitude for genuine worries. Without thinking I retorted "Well I'd like my son to have an actual life" to which his reply was "it's the young people who will suffer from these new variants " and off they went on their cheery way.

Groovee · 18/02/2021 16:37

@tacticalicious

Name changed as don't usually post political.

Tactical voting DOES work! But it needs to be well organised and canvassed as such.

I live in an openly tactical voting constituency. It's been that way here for years now. As a result we've only had an SNP incumbent once in recent years (think was at Westminster). She didn't last long!

Probably most of the residents have a party representing us at Holyrood and Westminster which wouldn't be our first choice but it's NOT SNP🎉

Sounds like my constituency where the MP was ousted from the party due to fraud.
jabbathebutt · 18/02/2021 16:42

absolutely - its our flag too

tacticalicious · 18/02/2021 16:43

@Groovee and our MSP was a naughty boy this weekGrin

Ooh yes! He was!

StatisticallyChallenged · 18/02/2021 17:16

I think my MP will be getting in trouble with his party shortly, seems to be supporting Joanna and Salmond which is a dangerous game. Mind you, the local SNP had a bit of a public terfy statement up, which turned into a terfy argument with lots of GC women calling bollocks. Was quite funny.

Callisto1 · 18/02/2021 17:52

I'd vote tactically as long as it's not conservative. I just dislike them too much.

I think some people without young kids just don't get what it's like rookie. I really pity the teens. My little ones are still mostly oblivious, but for older ones it must really suck.

littlbrowndog · 18/02/2021 17:59

We can’t eradicate the virus

It probably crossed from an animal to human is the thinking at WHO

we can eradicate small pox and measles as it is human to human

Just have to live with it and get on with the living part

The vaccination of the vulnerable is most important

littlbrowndog · 18/02/2021 18:00

The new variants will be whack a mole like the way we do with flu vaccine

WouldBeGood · 18/02/2021 18:15

Exactly @littlbrowndog

Ooooh rookie ouch - the pandemic has been even more polarising than the usual lows of nationalist politics, better than dying ffs. It's a good job the snp didn't politicise the pandemic.

StatisticallyChallenged · 18/02/2021 18:27

Thankfully none of my neighbours seem likely to come out with such things Rookie.

According to DH my FIL and his friends are all socialising quietly now cos they've had the vaccine...

Obviously best if they ignore his views then and go with those of the real experts.

WaxOnFeckOff · 18/02/2021 18:40

Leitch seems to have taken over from Alec Salmond in the "how smug and smarmy is it possible to look" competition. And I know I shouldn't say this but his voice just really grates without even listening to what he is saying.

WaxOnFeckOff · 18/02/2021 18:42

I'm sure I have a 25m swimming certificate somewhere - listen to ME!!!!!!

So strange I have never really heard of him until now, thanks for posting the screenshot! but Devi seems to be all over the TV. Obviously she has the “correct” political leanings to join the cabal which became very apparent when she called proUK Scots “anti Scottish”
