Tactical voting advice against SNP. Please share widely.

www.electionpolling.co.uk/tactical-voting/keep-out/snp
Thanks Aurea - seems I will be a Tory after all....:o

WaxOnFeckOff · 18/02/2021 13:48

Ah, it looks like that is geared to the 2024 GE but must be similar right?

Chasingamy · 18/02/2021 13:48

@OldRailer true but the thing this pandemic has really made me realise is SG is a one man band

WouldBeGood · 18/02/2021 13:50

@OldRailer

Our area is proper nationalist these days.

🧙Chasingamy :I think in a crisis the incumbent will usually do well. After the crisis is over would be the time for any backwash to have an effect.

Might there then be an incentive to keep a crisis going ?

I really want to see a much more split Holyrood so that parties have to work cooperatively.

OldRailer · 18/02/2021 14:03

I'm not seeing it all over by May so no.
But it's certainly makes sense to not postpone since there's likely to be a Falkland's effect for Sturgeon tbf!

OldRailer · 18/02/2021 14:07

I just saying I won't let results in May get me down.

OldRailer · 18/02/2021 14:09

I don't know where the weird picture got there. My kids don't think I can work this phone and they'd be right!

jabbathebutt · 18/02/2021 14:25

its between labour and snp here, the vote difference was very tight so it will be interesting to see how it goes this time. I'll be voting labour to avoid an SNP win. And my list vote will have SNP at or near the bottom

Covid in Scotland: Virus elimination would 'come at cost' www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-56110282

If Scotland goes for elimination and rUK doesn’t what does that mean for internal travel. Interesting that the panel is reflecting the views of the public

jabbathebutt · 18/02/2021 15:01

I wouldn't say its reflecting the views of the public.

Yes I want the virus completely gone cause I don't want face masks and social distancing and all that shit but I can't see how it can be done!

ladylunchalot · 18/02/2021 15:08

Have come over to join you as my positivity has fecked off and I want to kick things. So pissed off that we still don't seem any further forward even though vaccines are being carried out. I just want freeeeeeedddddoooommmmmm, and to go out for lunch and get fluffy socks from Primark, simple things.

OldRailer · 18/02/2021 15:10

A side issue but reading that piece: Eradication like smallpox is surely not just very difficult but practically speaking imposible?

Smallpox is not known to be carried by other animals. Mink and Hamsters can certainly carry covid19. Plague / Yersinia pestis is endemic in animals in desert areas of the US so if unlucky you can catch the plague trekking the Grand Canyon.

I worry about Jason Leitch.

titsbumfannythelot · 18/02/2021 15:20

A panel of 19 people urged an elimination strategy, I mean come on to fuck. Talk about detached from reality.

StatisticallyChallenged · 18/02/2021 15:25

Certainly doesn't reflect the folk I know, but...

Callisto1 · 18/02/2021 15:32

I'm rather keen on suppression. But Scotland has like 8% of UK population so unless England will join in we will never achieve it.

Same as localised lockdowns just make people travel to places that are open. We don't live in a totalitarian state like China where gov has complete control over our movements. And I wouldn't want it even if it would suppress the virus!

Chasingamy · 18/02/2021 16:01

This made me laugh Grin
Chasingamy · 18/02/2021 16:06

The worry I have is are there any epidemiologists, or medical specialists involved in these decisions. I know Devi Sridhar, Linda Bauld etc are public health but not sure it’s quite the same, would be good to get these views too

WouldBeGood · 18/02/2021 16:09

Professor Woolhouse was good yesterday but the dentist disagrees with him 🙄

Name changed as don't usually post political.

Tactical voting DOES work! But it needs to be well organised and canvassed as such.

I live in an openly tactical voting constituency. It's been that way here for years now. As a result we've only had an SNP incumbent once in recent years (think was at Westminster). She didn't last long!

Probably most of the residents have a party representing us at Holyrood and Westminster which wouldn't be our first choice but it's NOT SNP🎉

WaxOnFeckOff · 18/02/2021 16:09

Chris Whitty now saying we just need to get on with it as are many scientists

shouldistop · 18/02/2021 16:11

I've always tactically voted.

shouldistop · 18/02/2021 16:12

Cases way down

Is it just me that wants to remove all the wee saltires folk put on their cars? Generally accompanied with an snp sticker or Yes sticker?

Hate flag flying racist nationalism. But also, it's not just your flag.

WaxOnFeckOff · 18/02/2021 16:13

I've tactically voted for years now and it only worked once or maybe twice but it makes me feel better.
