😂 I like haggis and irn bru but would happily live without the rest of them

Lockdownbear · 25/01/2021 13:50

Pootle that's certainly good. Are the hospitals following suite?

IncludeWomenInTheSequel · 25/01/2021 13:51

Irn Bru goes flat within about 5 minutes.

Scottishskifun · 25/01/2021 13:51

I would be surprised if they didn't announce planned nurseries reopening on the 2nd of Jan they haven't shut in England and no signs that they will. Nurseries also reopened last time before schools.

I'm glad numbers are falling and by us the test system seems to be working better. We had to test DS (will be 2 in a week) as he had a temp. Got an appointment in minutes and results back within 12 hours! (negative BTW)

Bytheloch · 25/01/2021 13:53

Who was it that had posh Irn Bru in their wine cellar at Christmas? wax I think? It was a sub category of the ‘bru’ I hadn’t heard of before. Surely that’s for toasting with tonight?

Pootle40 · 25/01/2021 13:55

Hospitals are starting to plateau.

You can see daily graphs on informscotland.uk. (Not .co.uk)

littlbrowndog · 25/01/2021 14:01

To be contentious.

Haggis supper with brown sauce

That’s good pottle about the numbers

I don't drink Irn Bru (unless there is nothing else cold and fizzy) DS2 likes Irn Bru Xtra and is the only one in the house that drinks it in preference to other fizzy drinks. He's back at Uni and taken taken the last case of it with him. I don't have a wine cellar though :o

I'm currently enjoying a Totally Tropical can of Lilt. My reward for a busy morning dealing with DHs car after the exhaust partially fell off on the dual carriageway as he was on his way for his covid test prior to his medical thingy on Thursday. Cold wait for the RAC, they managed to detach the exhaust bit and I then drove it to the garage and walked 3 miles back home to find him already back. That's us now in quarantine so car will need to stay in garage until Friday now.

@Groovee, any news on Mr groovee?

So if hospitals are starting to level then fingers crossed that we'll get the two week notice soon that nurseries and schools (some years) are opening up.
DH did suspect they'd do it Friday or Monday with the plan for them opening after half term.
Ok I know some areas have half term a week later than others but a date would be good.

WaxOnFeckOff · 25/01/2021 14:09

Also. getting towards the end of this thread, who's turn is it to start the next one?

Suggestions for title?

Mine are:

Holding back the tiers
Reelin' in the tiers
Still crazy after all these tiers.

Peppafrig · 25/01/2021 14:20

Trouble is the cases are still far to high in places like Lanarkshire and Glasgow for schools to open . But low in other places will they open some areas schools before others. Children in high prevalence areas have already missed more school due to having to self isolate many times since August .

IncludeWomenInTheSequel · 25/01/2021 14:25

I'm not sure if the phased approach being mooted goes for regions, as well as age groups. I don't see why not tbh. Maybe someone else who listens more closely than me will know!

rogueantimatter · 25/01/2021 14:29

"Important occasions such as Burns Night" 🙄

Come to think of it, Burns and Salmond have a lot in common: womanisers, way with words, overrated.

Iwillneverbesatisfied · 25/01/2021 14:33

I like "holding back the tiers"

On which note, will we be going back to tier 4 in the central belt or will we be lucky enough to get lower than that?

Lanarkshire still seems quite high in cases.

WaxOnFeckOff · 25/01/2021 14:36

In Stirlingshire it didn't matter what our rate was we got whatever they felt like, usually 2 levels above what we should have been. I think we are sitting about 130-140, can't even remember what tier that is.

@NotAnActualSheep Being "monger Ed a hell of a lot of doom" is absolutely brilliant! Made me snort with laughter.

Thanks. You lot are amazing.

anon444877 · 25/01/2021 14:44

Did the govt ever stick to their tier guidelines in any case? 'Holding back the tiers' works. I wish I could hibernate til schools for back. M

I hope we don't get to it's been tiers and tiers...

hilbil21 · 25/01/2021 14:44

Can we have Tiers Of A Clown at some point, just because that's what I generally think of the people in charge Grin

Unless we've already had that, I lose track Blush

Lockdownbear · 25/01/2021 14:52

Peppafrig good point about Glasgow and Lanarkshire still having high numbers.

Thinking of the NHS, does Glasgow ICUs cover a lot more than just Glasgow?
Because I'm think they have to look at the total number of spare beds and capacity across the country.

Teirs of a clown has a certain appeal 🤣

WaxOnFeckOff · 25/01/2021 14:54

I've lost track, I thought we'd had tiers of a clown but maybe I just thought it......quite a lot :o

I'm happy to go with anything :)

OP posts:
titsbumfannythelot · 25/01/2021 14:55

I'm sure we've had tiers of a clown too.

And I still like 'dancing with tiers in my eyes'

WaxOnFeckOff · 25/01/2021 15:01

Because I'm think they have to look at the total number of spare beds and capacity across the country.

Forth Valley is Lanarkshire overspill so that's why it doesn't matter what Stirlingshire rates are usually.

My personal thoughts are that apart from the islands, they'll go back to (or stay with?) there being one mainland rule for everyone. I don't agree or know any different and haven't heard any rumours, but i think they just got hacked off with trying to make different areas abide by different rules and stop everyone gong from one to the other. Not sure if a 4 is much different from now, but I reckon we'll all go to a 4 and if the "cases" etc go down enough all over, we'll all get to go to a 3.

Can anyone even remember when the "temporary mini lockdown" is to be reviewed?

OP posts:
dancemom · 25/01/2021 15:01

How about a non tiers since we are in lockdown rather than tiers currently? Maybe even tempt a bit of fate to get us to move back to them ... who knew we would miss actual tiers??

How about living la Vida lockdown?

dancemom · 25/01/2021 15:02
