Just explain you can’t expect a man to shop for groceries 😂😂

Arkadia · 19/11/2020 17:32

So the latest bams are the children doing sleepovers.

RaraRachael · 19/11/2020 17:33

I'm in tier 1.5 and there have been quite a few cases in secondary schools which have resulted in years being sent home.

Expecting to be moved up to tier 2 soon

There is no end in sight - endless tiers up, tiers down, lockdowns, will/won't Christmas happen.......................Hmm

WouldBeGood · 19/11/2020 17:34

@Arkadia I wondered who was to blame today 😃

Pootle40 · 19/11/2020 17:34

If we go to another health board tier is it fine after tomorrow or potential arrest ?

dementedpixie · 19/11/2020 17:36

Shot on sight i imagine

Dinnafashyersel · 19/11/2020 17:38

Pootle health board tiers are old hat. You're confined to your local Authority. However if you have a healthcare appointment in one of the hospitals in the tier 4 hotspots that is a perfect "reasonable excuse" (last time I was in hospital the person next to me was from the Western Isles).

littlbrowndog · 19/11/2020 17:38

Hahaha. Shot on sight. Made me laugh out loud

WouldBeGood · 19/11/2020 17:39

I’m going to travel over the moors by might, like Rob Roy. An outlaw, on the run from an evil Queen , and trying to access Waitrose

Just as well given that in my local Authority area we have no hospitals. In fact, my dentist is in a different local authority. As is DS's orthodontists, and DD's optician.

@IwishIwasyoda

There is a huge push on MN for schools to close which I don't get. 1 case in 3 months at our school ... and not clear if it is an adult or pupil (as we don't get told anything). Could well have been the breakfast club staff for all I know.
YY. There’s been three cases at my kids ( very large ) high school. Two were pupils who caught it from family members - one from a sibling who had been to Croatia on holiday.

I dont know about the third case. No one has caught it in school from these pupils.

I assume the push on Mn to close schools is from

  1. Parents who are vulnerable
  2. Parents whose kids are shielding and want everyone else’s kids to be off too
  3. Teachers or their partners who want paid to sit at home
  4. Parents with severe healthy anxiety who want their own kids off school but are not willing to home ed
  5. Child free people who want the schools closed and the pubs open instead

It’s only on MN that I’ve seen this. All the parents and GP I know in RL are DESPERATE to keep the schools open. Even many non parents think that the education and mental health of children and young people is important .

I’m the same @RaspberryCoulis I’m in ED but life is in Glasgow.

Dentist (not that they’re actually doing anything!) doctor, after school setting and the nearest 4 supermarkets are all in Glasgow.

Not that I take them but the nearest southbound bus stop is actually in Glasgow too I’m that close to the border

I’m continuing with my click and collect at the big Tesco as for me that seems safer and more sensible than running the gauntlet of the tiny Morrison’s

Bikingbear · 19/11/2020 18:11

I think the push to close schools more comes from the message that says it's far far to dangerous to wear a mask and shop in a card shop but it's safe to sit in a classroom for hours with an open window.Hmm

Dinnafashyersel · 19/11/2020 18:30

Agree Bikingbear. Also sending 20-40 children home to isolate for every actual positive test makes the risk look far more prevalent than it actually is.

This is very true - I'm aware of a school where 6 classes have been sent home due to a single case in a member of staff (somewhere wasn't bubbling properly...)
RaspberryCoulis · 19/11/2020 18:57

My S1 has been isolating since tuesday last week. Girl in his class tested positive (with no symptoms) after both her parents who are healthcare professionals caught it.

As well as the infected girl, there are 28 other S1 children off in her class, and 15 girls from another class as they mix two classes together for PE so boys/girls are separate. So 43 kids off, none of them ill. Or with symptoms.

Iwillneverbesatisfied · 19/11/2020 19:15

My S2 DD is currently self isolating (and bored stiff) because her friend tested positive and there have been lots of cases in our school.

My two cousins and their kids have had it (primary, nursery and college), and my bestie and her nursery and P2 kids too so kids are catching it, including young children.

Draft regulations or should I say daft regulations re travel ban have been published this evening. We can now be fined for ‘leaving Scotland’ 🤔

As there’s no legal border, other than in the SNP’s wet dreams, I await the installation of road blocks managed by Police Scotland stopping all traffic for ID. I won’t hold my breath.

Hmm, I wonder what happens if you live on the border and work and live on opposite sides? Maybe you are only allowed back in if you sign up to the "party".

WouldBeGood · 19/11/2020 19:55

You’ll be ok as long as you’re wearing a tartan mask

Bytheloch · 19/11/2020 19:56

Exemptions for work and other regulations that will support residents of the borders, by the look of it.

3 Teachers or their partners who want paid to sit at home

Yes I really loved those 12 weeks back in term 4 when I sat on my arse at home, doing nothing and raking in full pay....

Or no - the actual reality wasn't like that.....funny that Hmm
