I think tier 2 can visit other tier 2, the travel "ban" becomes stricter as you move up the tiers I believe

dementedpixie · 17/11/2020 20:33

If you live in a Level 0, 1, or 2 area in Scotland, or are considering travel to Scotland from anywhere else, you should:

minimise unnecessary journeys between areas in different levels and avoid any unnecessary travel to places in Level 3 or Level 4 areas

Urgh I hate this I’m another swimming about in a tiny tier 3 pool surrounded by tier 4.

Are the “essential” reasons for travel remaining despite the travel restrictions becoming law? In particular I’m keen to make sure my kids can be taken from our tier 3 to another tier 3 for their beloved organised sport - been closed since March due to finally start up again on Saturday 🤦🏻‍♀️

Very sorry to hear of all those with much bigger problems to deal with Flowers

WouldBeGood · 17/11/2020 20:35

It can’t be schools or everywhere would be the same?

I saw a graphic saying care homes; hospitals and workplaces, such as warehouses and factories

littlbrowndog · 17/11/2020 20:38

It’s a technical term bikingbear😂😂😂😂

runningpink · 17/11/2020 20:42

Thanks for the link about travelling.

Rae36 · 17/11/2020 20:47

it is a wonder if they are people with school age kids though. Is it spreading with no symptoms from kids to parents or is it workplaces etc

I bet if they tested every secondary school pupil they would get dozens and dozens of asymptomatic cases who are not being tested otherwise but are infecting parents and grandparents.

But they won't want to do that because that would prove they are wrong about schools.

They'd have to remain - so many people cross "borders" for work and education. East Lothian is tier two from Tuesday but our major hospital including only A&E is tier 3. They would have to keep the exemptions or it would be utter carnage
ICouldHaveCheckedFirst · 17/11/2020 20:49

Thanks, dementedpixie. I've now found the Travelling Tabby page - great info.

MurrayTheDemonicTalkingSkull · 17/11/2020 20:52

Live in tier 3 but work in a secondary in tier 4. Yesterday I taught 20 children in total. I am not able to provide work for the isolating ones to the quality I would like because I don’t have the time to do it. Even if I wanted to stream my lessons simultaneously, I don’t have the hardware to be able to do it. This is not a sustainable situation.

WouldBeGood · 17/11/2020 20:55

Should we just accept schools are going to close?

Gibbonsgibbonsgibbons · 17/11/2020 21:00

Thanks StatisticallyChallenged yes I assumed that the work/medical ones would have to remain just concerned they might remove a few.

I do think closing secondary schools is the elephant in the room at this point

icanboogieboogiewoogie · 17/11/2020 21:15

I teach in South West Glasgow (big secondary school) and have only had a handful of cases so far. While we've had a smattering the vast majority of classes have been barely affected. Currently, of the approx 180 pupils I teach, only 5 are self isolating. I'd love mass testing in schools, as I think it's the only way they're going to control the numbers, but I don't necessarily think closing schools is inevitable.

WouldBeGood · 17/11/2020 21:21

That’s good to hear @icanboogieboogiewoogie.

DS goes to a 1000+ school in Lanarkshire and there’s been very little.

He’s s1 and has been flourishing. I’m really grateful to the school. And would be very sad if it shut.

BlueThursday · 17/11/2020 21:27

I’d really struggle if schools were to close again It was impossible to work and teach at the same time

I’m living on my nerves as it is and working from 7-5 just about every day

Scotslassie1 · 17/11/2020 21:49

Ditto

WouldBeGood · 17/11/2020 21:51

I can cope with school closing but my DS can’t

littlbrowndog · 17/11/2020 22:16

Seems Scotland’s excess deaths are highest in Uk.

Not sure what this means. Tbh.

Bu5 can’t be good

WouldBeGood · 17/11/2020 22:35

General poor health and poverty?

Makes you wonder why the faithful are still loving the government 🤷🏻‍♀️

titsbumfannythelot · 17/11/2020 22:36
