Just getting started on this year's thread.

Only got Ds sitting 5 exams this year in S5. 🤞🏻 but Dd will be home most of the time as she's on placement.

Dd has her Nat5s starting on 3rd of May (2 maths papers). If only she'd actually do some studying! Maybe she will as they get closer

WickedGoodDoge · 30/03/2019 07:36

DS has his Highers this year. He’s pretty worried about Philosophy but OK about the others. He’s off from lunchtime Wednesday and then just has three days at the end of Easter before exams start - much tighter than last year and this also has him a bit stressed. I’m very glad it’ll all be over in a couple of months!

Lidlfix · 30/03/2019 08:13

DD3 has her Highers and DD4 her Nat5s this year. Our Easter hols have started due to local authority policy of always having first 2 weeks in April.

I am beyond relieved as their combined stress coupled with Termageddon for me was horrible . Looking at you SQA and your crazy change of pick up date for Higher Folios Hmm.

dementedpixie · 30/03/2019 08:15

We have also started Easter holidays (spring break?). Off for 2 weeks, back for 4 days then off for the Easter weekend. Dd needs to finish an art piece in that time and study too

WaxOnFeckOff · 30/03/2019 10:04

Yep, we are off too and DS2 has 2 highers and his AH English. I know he goes back after the fortnight then has 4 days before Easter weekend and then he's saying he is back Tuesday and Wednesday the following week with exams starting on the Thursday. If that's correct, it's a bit of a departure from the norm as they usually have a few days off before the first exams.

This is highly important for me to know exactly which day as I need a photo on his last day and I usually start work before he leaves for school so I'll need to arrange to work at home! :o.

dementedpixie · 30/03/2019 10:20

Have your not looked at the exam timetable? I know there was a link to it on our school website

dementedpixie · 30/03/2019 10:23

First exams seem to be 25th april but dds first is 3rd may

dementedpixie · 30/03/2019 10:24

Advanced higher English is 8th may

susiewong · 30/03/2019 10:37

I’m with you @WaxOnFeckOff for last day photos !
DS has the same holidays. His first exam is the first Thursday so no study leave for that one ! Thankfully his assignments are now handed in so no last minute changes to worry about. Last exam 17th May then that’s is all over ... how did that happen 😮

WaxOnFeckOff · 30/03/2019 12:53

Yes, I've looked at the exam timetable but I need the last actual school day so I can do the same as I did with DS1. I like to keep them the same as much as possible :)

WaxOnFeckOff · 30/03/2019 12:54

I recreated the first day at school photo, same pose, same place.

SileneOliveira · 30/03/2019 13:39

My first time going through exams with DS1 who is doing 7 Nat 5s. We have broken up already for holidays, back 15th April for 4 days and then off for Easter weekend. His first exam is Nat 5 biology on 30th April.

He is doing naff all work. Did well in high prelims but lots of feedback from teachers about reading the question properly and ensuring relevant answers. But you can't tell him because he's 16 and knows EVERYTHING.

Cadsuane · 30/03/2019 19:10

We have also broken up for "Spring Break". DD2 is getting ready for 5 Highers with Maths first on May 2nd and Geography to finish on May 28th. She has worked her socks off this year and deserves to do well but you never know how it will go on the day. I'm more worried about her letting the exam stress get to her.

Groovee · 30/03/2019 21:53

😭😭😭 we don't finish until Friday

Littlebird88 · 30/03/2019 22:02

eldest doing nat 5 s here
I'm not sure if she's doing much work or not.
as obviously being a teenager any help offered is refused in a flurry of hormones

Alittewornout · 31/03/2019 15:07

Dd sitting 5 highers and is also off on spring break. She has worked really hard throughout the year and continues to do so, but you just don’t know how it will go on the day. Good luck to all our dc and good luck to us parents in remaining cool calm and collected over the next few weeks! That reminds will need to stock pile the wine supply!

ClerkMaxwell · 31/03/2019 15:52

I have my youngest sitting 5Hs this year. Last one is 13th May so she'll have several weeks before S6 starts. Might take that time to tidy her room.

WaxOnFeckOff · 31/03/2019 16:10

She might at least have managed to clear the floor in those few weeks Clerk

ClerkMaxwell · 31/03/2019 17:31

I hope so. I see on other threads people talking about their children sharing rooms at uni. I can't imagine anyone managing to share with my DD for more than a week. She looks immaculate but her room's a midden.

emummy · 11/04/2019 22:30

Dd is doing 5 highest and has the last on May 10th; she'll probably spend the next 3 weeks bored! We're on holiday just now and she has done a good amount of study. She's spent the last 2 days on work experience at a GP surgery & has really enjoyed it, so hopefully that will provide some extra motivation!

Groovee · 12/04/2019 06:38

Ds has spent time in school doing extra revision classes.

OP posts:
ClerkMaxwell · 12/04/2019 15:04

DD has skipped the school revision sessions this week. Seems to be doing some work although also seems to be internet shopping as we've had a parcel a day.

SileneOliveira · 12/04/2019 16:03

Still very little work going on here.

dontfluffthefluffer · 13/04/2019 23:13

We're mid hols here (at home so ds can go to revision sessions) other than those there's sod all revision going on. He knows this is his last chance. Sitting 3 highers. Back to school for 3.5 days then it's all over for him.

It infuriates me that I have an intelligent child who is just downright lazy when it comes to revision Hmm
