In despair. Absolutely in despair. Do we have to go through this again? And with such a long lead up to the referendum? Really? What happened to the settled will of the Scottish people?

@statisticallychallenged Will you help me get through this again? (Was Roseformeplease then).

Why should May listen to the will of the Scottish parliament if the Scottish first minister doesn't

Fonty posted a brilliant clip of Niel Findlay demonstrating how the first minister routinely disregards the will of the Scottish parliament.

cheeseandcrackers77 · 30/03/2017 20:52

I find the whole sitting with her feet up on the sofa while she writes her letter rather disturbing, she truly thinks this is something to be relaxed about and no need to take seriously. Fairly sure my boss would be a bit pissed off if I went to the sofa in our reception and did letters to our clients there.

SantanaLopez · 30/03/2017 20:57

I can't quite work out what image she was going for. It's all very teen-girl problem page in a magazine.

Not appropriate at all really.

Fucking fed up of it. Once in a lifetime?!

howabout · 30/03/2017 21:20

I reckon she got her toes out cos she is upset with Ruth for upstaging her after Legsit - Ruth tweeted a picture of her legs and feet in the sea for anyone who missed it.

I don't mind another Indyref. I can keep saying NO as long as she keeps asking and, listening to the chatter in the playground today, I am not the only one prepared to do so. I even have family who have switched from YES to NO cos they are so scunnered with her.

UpAwfYerSeatWeeNippy · 30/03/2017 21:20

I am of course pmsl... at the image of her signing the letter.

I think she may have realised the was missing a trick in the past by being an arsehole and providing no distractions from it. She must have realised where she had been going wrong with the Daily Mails Legsit article the other day.

May always uses her femininity to get her press attention. I commented the other day that I need to be able to talk about Nikkis tights or fashion or hair so I can have something to say to people when they start talking about the SNP. I hate them so wholeheartedly that I have nothing left positive that I can say.

Would you look at the way she is abusing the sofa cushions by squishing them up... My mum would have heart failure. She should have to replace them out of her own pocket money.

Didn't NS say that the Jackie Mag was her bible as a teen... perhaps she is looking for it to make a comeback with her on the front page Grin

UpAwfYerSeatWeeNippy · 30/03/2017 21:22

This deserves a new thread. I'll go and start one.

NoLotteryWinYet · 31/03/2017 00:08

Up I didn't mean you were spinning it badly, sorry, was in a rush -i meant the express saying that the tories are reviewing the devolved adminstration's powers which is right and sensible, rather than their goal being to 'stop Sturgeon' primarily. I know what you mean about it never being enough for the SNP, they want independence however they can swing it, they're a one-issue party, but on the whole I can't see it's a bad thing for Scots to know that a review is underway and hopefully it'll reduce the number of moderate Scots voting SNP rather than change SNP policy itself.

UpAwfYerSeatWeeNippy · 31/03/2017 09:11

Oh I see what you mean no lottery, I really do hope voters see through it. Even if I wanted independence I'm not sure I'd be happy with the SNP trying to force it through when the majority don't want it. For me failures are failures, but disregarding demoracy so profoundly really makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.

UpAwfYerSeatWeeNippy · 31/03/2017 09:18

Any way looks like May gave her the resounding F off I was hoping for.

HOORAY FOR MAY!!!!!

Maybe Nikki can get back to the day job now?

– an extract from today’s Scottish Legal News
Police watchdog finds 'significant disparity' in forensic medical services for victims of sex crime amid legal confusion

There is a significant disparity in the quality of forensic medical services delivered to victims of sexual crime and confusion over the legal responsibilities for both the function and delivery of such services in Scotland, according to a new report

A review of services provided to adult and child victims of sexual crime by Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary in Scotland (HMICS) found that further investment is needed in healthcare professionals, premises and equipment and that a lack of strategic leadership and governance over the provision of forensic medical services has limited progress towards improvements

Forensic medical services should be delivered by health boards but remain a function and responsibility of the Scottish Police Authority (SPA) under Section 31 of the Police and Fire Reform (Scotland) Act 2012.

The current agreement for the provision of healthcare and forensic medical service “creates a narrow distinction between the legal responsibility for providing forensic healthcare and its actual delivery,” the report states.

The current rules suggest the SPA has “outsourced its statutory responsibility to deliver forensic healthcare” to the NHS.

“Despite this, there is little evidence of the SPA recognising any legal responsibility for outsourcing forensic healthcare or providing any strategic leadership, governance or scrutiny over the agreement between Police Scotland and NHS Scotland.”

The report concludes that the Scottish government should "review the legal basis for the current agreement between Police Scotland, the Scottish Police Authority and NHS Scotland to deliver healthcare and forensic medical services" in order to inform any new memorandum of understanding between the parties.

HMICS also found that Scotland is well behind the rest of the UK in respect of availability of dedicated healthcare facilities which meet both the health needs of victims and the necessary forensic requirements

NoLotteryWinYet · 31/03/2017 20:37

wow, so the SNP are also letting down victims of sex crimes, that's appalling Lass.

Just watching Ruth Davidson on yesterday's Question Time - she debated Len McCluskey and the sadly talentless labour MP well on security, the point about Corbyn dealing with the IRA went over well and she did well on workers rights with Dimbleby having to tell darling Len to shut it.

Nyx · 31/03/2017 23:07

Do you not think Ruth came over a bit thuggish and stroppy, with her (frankly not very professional) ' bloody panel' comment etc? Don't know why you're so impressed with her. She is losing her temper regularly.

howabout · 31/03/2017 23:58

Ruth's appeal is that she is pretty convincing at speaking as she sees it. She therefore comes across as authentic. The SNP carefully scripted mantra and photo ops are anything but.

EnjoyYourVegetables · 01/04/2017 00:11

NoLotteryWin, That Labour MP is touted as a possible future leader, I kid you not..

So disappointed I posted twice.

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 01/04/2017 07:02

No I don't and that comment is only used for female politicians.

Len McKlusky (sp) constantly talked over her and Dimbleby actually told him to shut up a couple of times.

NoLotteryWinYet · 01/04/2017 08:04

Yes that's right piglet Davidson had to assert herself over his not shutting up. NS does the same, modern politics can be thuggish.

I looked the labour MP up, enjoy and saw that she's anti-Corbyn so she went up in my estimation although nothing she said resonated or seemed insightful, Kezia Dugale is better than that. I felt sorry for her when she was saying labour is working with anyone to try and soften Brexit - whereas they could just try being a credible electoral party...

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 01/04/2017 08:22

I actually like Lisa Nandy. I think she found that QT hard as she was at times having to defend Corbyn and her views on him are well know.

Plus, although I don't know, I would imagine considering her stance on Corbyn, that she isn't McKluskey biggest fan either.

NoLotteryWinYet · 01/04/2017 09:18

I noted she has a small child, may have been a bad first view of her and it was clear she was uncomfortable with the panel, she wasn't a big fan of the UKIP guy either

Nyx · 01/04/2017 09:31

Thuggish and stroppy are not words always used to describe females, you might be mixing them up with nippy or bossy.

NoLotteryWinYet · 01/04/2017 09:34

Ah so your analysis of terms then is saying that NS and RD both have thuggish/nippy/stroppy/bossy debating styles. Yes! And?

UpAwfYerSeatWeeNippy · 01/04/2017 09:35

I don't know, I've heard it used a lot when describing ladies who are less feminine/gay.

Not very nice tbh. I'm sure it wasn't intended that way though x

Nyx · 01/04/2017 09:39

Ruth does nothing, ever, except talk about how bad independence for Scotland would be. She does that so that she doesn't have to talk about the fact she is a Tory. She never gets questioned about Teresa May's policies on Scottish TV - "what do you say about your boss taking £30 a week off disabled people, Ruth?" - that sort of scenario is unthinkable. She is never asked about anything except about the SNP. This way she can deflect from her party's policies and constantly be on the attack.
