I discovered on my husband's laptop that one night while I was sleeping he was looking at internet porn. Not so bad ,you think!, it get's worse. On his history of websites and images were sites involving pre-teen girls. I have confronted him and get the usual I don't know why,I'd had too many beers,I don't even like young girls,I didn't get an erection, blah blah blah. It wasn't just one site or one search although he claims they were all linked and he clicked on the link, although I believe you can't do that on google images. Every time I think of it I feel physically sick and don't know what to do. We have 4 boys of 3,10,14 &17. I keep thinking about their friends and girlfriends he will come into contact with. Am I over reacting? What should I do? I have no one to share this with as both my parents died last year. Can anyone help?

Malificence · 16/05/2010 15:57

I had a bad feeling about this thread from the get go, I'm not usually one for throwing the troll word around, but the whole thing is just off.

cluckyduck · 16/05/2010 15:57

Bjawn- you should be ashamed of yourself- no one gives a fuck what ticks your box- it's the OP people are trying to help here, not listen to your wank ramblings.

Also, it's au fait, not ofay.

fifitot · 16/05/2010 15:57

Er how is this helping the OP?

Missus84 · 16/05/2010 15:58

Er... "barely legal" is girls who are 18 (or women who look as if they're 18. Preteen is 12 and under. That's a world of difference.

jawm are you delierateley trying to antagonise ? The op has stated very clearly that he was looking at sites involving preteen girls, that is, young children who are not even yet a teenager.

I think the op is capable of noticing the differance between an 18 year old dressed up as a school girl and a pre teen child.

The full context of these sites has not yet been established but the op is obviously distressed at what shes found. Your comments of hysteria and hilarious are frankly deeply disturbing.

Missus84 · 16/05/2010 16:02

If there was one dodgy site there, then his excuse that it was linked from an ordinary porn site and he got there by mistake is just about plausible - if there are several dodgy sites then I don't see how it could be an accident.

And surely child porn isn't the kind of thing you just stumble across while googling? I mean it's highly illegal, so surely sites are secretive, invite-only, paid for etc.

Fizzfiend · 16/05/2010 16:04

Okay, this raised my hackles to start with. BUT..try and remain calm for a bit. Everyone, especially parents, detests paedophiles. But...and I'm trying to be generous here...maybe one porn link led to another, and maybe he was momentarily curious.

However, it does sound like this has been a regular thing. If so, he has a serious problem. Just for having those sites on his computer, he could face jail time.

Investigate, investigate and then sit him down for a massively serious conversation. Pre-teen girls should not be a turn on for any man.

it's not a question of excitement

just making the point that many adults do look at porn and are aware of the terms they use, it's all vulgar stuff obviously!

the main point to the op is that unless your dh is looking at illegal child porn then he isn't doing anything illegal just distasteful

the op didn't say she saw pictures of actual preteen ie 12 and younger girls did she?

I would hope that would provoke a stronger reaction than starting a thread on mumsnet.

I was pointing out that as website searches go 'preteen' is not actually underage but a euphamism for young looking

Dittany is quite funny though

Yes she did

" On his history of websites and images were sites involving pre-teen girls. "

Dittany is funny how ? What exactly is do gut busting funny about what she has said ?
If you dont agree with what shes said why not discuss the points you dont agree with like an adult instead of making stupid remarks ?

Why not try it, id quite like for you to show me the humour in what shes said, i cant see it myself.

Only to perverts.

bjawn · 16/05/2010 16:35

haha there you go again! you are famously anti porn and looking for abuse and exploiation in every male female interaction though so predictably hysterical

I don't think you're best placed to offer balanced advice on this kind of stuff although you love these kinds of threads

I remeber the one where the op's dh wanted her to wear an old fashioned nightie with no undies and you were going mental about them making the kids spectators to their sordid sex games! hahs, i shall treasure my skewed moral compass though, brilliant!

the fact that he has searched and viewed "Pre-teen" porn is very worrying indeed.

the comment about "not getting an erection" sounds like a load of bullshit to me, he sounds like a very disturbed individual and I think you need to report it as I would not want him around my children.

bjawn there has been an ex police officer on here explaining how serious viewing this kind of material is. I don't think you know what you are talking about. As for describing what gets you off on this thread where the OP has come to talk about a serious problem, well, very inappropriate...

bjawn · 16/05/2010 16:41

I agree with prolesworth, if the op has seen evidence of her dh accessing child porn then it's a criminal matter and he can discuss it at the station

dignified- it's obviously a divide I'm on the wrong side of. I find people's hysteria towards porn when expressed so eloquently hilarious!

Malificence · 16/05/2010 16:41

Fuck off bjawn - if you think that normal men search for pre-teen girls in the hunt for "normal" pornography, you're as sick and twisted as the people doing it.

Someone would only look for young girls if they were looking for children being abused.

Missus84 · 16/05/2010 16:44

I don't have a problem with porn, I don't have a problem with my DP accessing internet porn, but "pre-teen" is NOT a euphemism for 18 year olds dressed as school girls!

It isn't a case of hysteria about porn, it's concern about a man seeking out pictures of young girls being abused.
