Do men really prefer it if we shave down there?

I am quite comfortable with my au natural look but as soon as I get a partner I feel like it all has to come off. Hence cringy shaving/hair removal cream sessions, regrowth and in my case unsightly sores. Sorry if tmi. I am too chicken to wax.

It's such a shame that men don't love that part of us the way it is or do they.

I do tend to feel better after a trim but not a full wax.

I kind of want to look like a women and not prepubescant.

DH is sitting next to me. He says there are as many opinions as there are men in the world. And if you had a bloke who expected any specific form of topiary and was less than enthused by the alternatives then he's a wnaker and run away.

Hmm.. There was a little piece about this subject in Sunday Times Style section today. Bloke was saying he didn't like shaving because of the scratchy feeling and the horrible red shaving rash. He reckoned just a trim was best as waxing it all off was just too weird.

Or something like that.

This is just a hunch, but I have a feeling that some people like some things, and other people like other things.

My man likes the au naturale look, thankfully, because I'm too lazy to bother, and agree, shaving bumps are yucky.

To be honest, I am more shocked and annoyed by the attitude of some women about women who don't trim or shave armpits or whatever. Why are they appalled by something that they too experience?

I like my fanjo hairless, and so I have it that way.

If I was asked to grow it back I would. It wouldn't bother me that much and it's good to please a partner.

I'm sure you both have preferences, you just need to make sure you are both happy with both your bits.

I have been told that it is much nicer to have some hair - not in a personal context though- by someone who goes to lots of saunas in Europe and finds it most unattractive and a bit sad that none of the ladies who frequent them seem to have any.

I've noticed that blokes who claim they prefer it shaved tend to be in pubs, surrounded by mates, and sniggering. But they don't have girlfriends.

Every man I have been with has loved shaved, but prefers neatly trimmed.

In the same breath, if I left it all natural, they had no issues and would not change their bedroom habits one bit.

I like the undercarriage shaved. I think it looks and feels nicer and I feel sexier when it's smooth. That's not to say I do it regularly tho I know DH enjoys going down when it's shaved more than hairy but it's not something he expresses his views on often! He's happy to get a piece of it in any state of furriness

I do leave hair at the front tho. Cannot stand the totally shaven experience. I think there is a contingent of men who expect them to be hairless and get grossed out by hair and I think that is probably the fault of porn. Each to their own but you should never do something you aren't comfortable with.

Exactly what mnugggle said. I like mine completely Naired, it enhances feeling down there I find. I feel sexier.

My DP happens to like it that way too, and I am happy to please him. He occasionally removes all his hair too, because he knows I enjoy it.

DH is happy enough the rare occasions we get to have sex that I don't think he would care if my hair was lime green, a foot long and had bows in it!

He bought me a lady garden trimmer for Xmas which has stencils, love heart, triangle, rectangle, diamond and arrow.
I can now surprise him with my chosen shape, or maybe I should be offended that this was one of my gifts?!

Is it possible to shave/Nair all of it off? Very fiddly, surely. I tend to just get rid of anything outside the general knicker area but don't go any further. I think completely hairless ones tend to look a bit forlorn.

I tried shaving it all off once but found it too sensitive - I think my hood sticks out very slightly and I could feel it slightly touching my underwear which I didn't like.

However I don't like having loads of hair there especially on my period as I feel it gets messy and smelly, with wee, discharge etc Of course if you shower before sex this isn't an issue but I always feel I should shower, especially before oral, which takes away the spontenaiety a bit!

My ex always used to go on about "shaven havens" and refused to do any oral unless I shaved, and seemed to insist that "everyone else" shaved, but I think he watched too much porn. He was a nob anyway/.

I have always wondered by the way, is it safe to use nair/immac etc down there? I quite like doing it occasionally for a surprise but it takes so long and is so hard to shave without cutting yourself that I hardly ever bother.

My DP seems happy with mine in all its natural glory and in fact appeared horrified to be told some women shave it all off.

Surely something that gives you unsightly sores can't be that nice for the man (or for you either)?

I am considering tidying it a bit for imminent birth, but all off just seems wrong to me.

I had a boyfriend years ago who really liked me to shave it all off. Last I heard, he was shacked up with a 17 year old (he's 31). Shudders.

Sure all men who like it aren't that dodgy, but it does seem odd to me.

I take some of it off with and epilator! Same as OP feel like it's expected when I meet a new man. Not had any complaints although one guy did tell me to take it all off. My answer ended with off!

That's where trimming helps. I cannot remove my hair down there as it is way too itchy when it grows back & I am not going thru that for anyone!

I keep it trimmed & tidy, that is all that's needed. Dh said he thinks it would freak him too much for me to be completely bare. It said it isn't natural for women to be hairless there!

OK, I'm going to ask a stupid question

When you say 'trim', do you actually mean give it a hair cut with scissors?! So leaving the hair but cutting it shorter? Thank you for clarification!

I tend to Immac to a couple of cm inside the knicker line but I've never thought of trimming!
