Question about oral sex and hygiene

I'm not a woman who "glows". I sweat. If I'm hot/anxious/angry/dashing about, my pits (and bits) sweat.

I don't think anyone would think me smelly or unhygienic. But I know if I feel a bit too hot and bothered downstairs to be comfortable about receiving any oral action. I'd say I would probably want to "freshen up" beforehand at least half the time.

Maybe because most women don't seem smelly (but then nor do I), I imagine that most women can tear around after their kids all day or get flustered commuting/working, and then happily enjoy oral sex later on, having bypassed the bathroom altogether. I don't think I could, and I'm wondering if that's odd.

So, gather round namechangers and tell me what's "normal".

oh no cant get er into stuff unless I am fresh as a daisy! Plus dh is pretty blunt about things if there is a hint of me being otherwise! cant be arsed to namechange btw..

God, that makes me feel better! There I was thinking I must be a bit especially stinky. Must have seen too many films over the years with spontaneous raunchy loves scenes in them, where I've watched and thought, "Eh? Wouldn't they need a bit of a wash before doing that?!" Sigh. Back to reality. Thanks for reassurance.

lol at 'showering on the off chance' I guess here it is more that the dcs mean that much spontaneous shagging of any description is not a very regular thing, so there is plenty of time to freshen up in advance! We seem to plan to have sex a lot more than we actually manage as too knackered when it comes down to it phnar phnar but thats another thread

I shower every day as it is.. I would ( nad have)however on an off chance moment excuse myself and pop to the bathroom LOL.. I mean it's only polite.

falcon, about half the time, I'd feel fine just getting stuck in spontaneously. But the other half of the time, if I thought oral sex was on the cards, I'd want a wash first - whether earlier in the evening in anticipation or, like others have said, taking a bath together first as part of foreplay. What do you do (or not) then? You must be perennially fresh! I'm with gingerninja on sometimes feeling simply too "grubby" to relax.

Well, I shower most days too, usually in the morning, but a lot of sweat- and gunge-inducing activity can happen between about 8am and 11pm - that's 15 hours later! Some days I'd be fine, but other days, no way. A second wash would have to happen somehow.

Grin was about the moist fanny wipes, mrsmaidamess. Bit more of a at Mick Jagger. Well, if you could be sure the whiff would be only of horny pheromones, maybe, yes. But sod fragrant Jerry, too much other stuff goes on down there for me to happily go washless for a few days before oral sex!

If he's been for a run or had a physical/stressful day, maybe, but has rarely been necessary. Circumcised - which I guess makes a difference. The design of women's bits, IMHO, makes being a bit grubby down there at the end of a day reasonably likely. Apologies if TMI for some.

I'm with mrsmaid, I use wipes too if the occasion calls for it. I shower/bath every mnorning, but come bedtime, I'm sure I'd be a bit dodge some of the time.

I'll add, we don't do oral in this house because it makes me feel sick so it's not for that purpose but if I think we'll have sex or touching, which is not often either, I'll have a little wipe around.

It's perfectly normal to want to wash- I couldn't if I hadn't bathed/showered- even if you are not a hot and sweaty person ( and who isn't really??) then a normal day's secretions can't be that tasty!
Maybe in the first flush of lust we'd all just go for it, but I'mnot too sure about that either. Guess it's what suits each couple.

My man LOVES the smell of, ahem, down there. I'm sure he'd love it of I didn't wash for a few days.

It was a bit hard to get used to to start with as he will literally put his fingers down there and then sniff them! But now I love the fact that he loves ALL of me so much!

I still shower every day anyway, but might pop into the shower quickly after a day at work if feeling pretty icky.

I think us women are more bothered about it than most men!

You do know that if you use scented wipes on your chuff then you stand a far higher chance of giving yourself bactierial vaginosis and smelling icky rather than just natural?
A healthy foof should smell like a foof not like a chemical toilet. There is actually, TBH, something deeply misogynistic about the selling of 'feminine wipes', as though women's bodies are something disgusting. Most men actually would prefer a slightly ripe foof to a mouthfull of synthetics, though if you have been riding your bike all day in nylon knickers then a quick wash with plain water might be in order I suppose...
