Sex after birth - how soon?

bit of an intimate one here ladies - how soon after birth did you have sex again?

my ds is nearly 5 weeks old and I'm wondering about when I should give it a go...

If I remember right it was about 2 weeks with DS and about 6 weeks with DD.

With dd it was about 5 weeks but with ds still don't feel ready - he's 2y6mo

9 months with ds1, about 6 months with ds2.

I know of a woman who had sex about 2 weeks after her baby was born...and got pregnant.

about six weeks i think but it took a few weeks to get back to normal. Its totally individual though just give it a go if u want too but dont worry if u or ur body dont feel ready

Was a few months for me (and a few more before it wasn't painful) but if you are in the mood then go for it!

I waited till the six week check and then went for it.

I used to work for an ex midwwife who told me that she had walked in on many couples giving it one, while the woman was still in hospital after the birth

hmb, I am honestly staggered that anyone manages it 6 weeks after - but while still in hospital?

To be fair I'd had a section, so that kept my 'bits' intact!

One of my friends sisters was in hospital after the delivery. One of the other women in the 4 bed ward was missing and her baby was crying. The woman was found in the shower having sex with her partner!!!!!!

Well I was in hospital for 5 days so I waited till i got home, think it was 8 days, not much longer than that for sure. I didn't have stitches though and as I'd been in hospital with lottie for 5 days i was rested etc.

look at me justifying why I had sex again so quickly, i'm just a slut who loves it!!!!!!!

I would say approx 2 years later or when your ready for another one, oh sorry I thought I was talking about myself.

I think they generally say about 6 weeks, but I suppose if you are OK then it could be sooner

I heard that sorry too about the woman having sex in the shower after giving birth! Dp Said he wouldn't have wanted to come near me in case he hurt me couldn't they have waited until she at least got home, what about the bleeding yuck not like it's normal bleeding either.

Think we were about 8-9 weeks after DD maybe longer.

in the shower! That would be like shagging a slaughtered pig, if my experience is anything to go by...

And frankly I'm surprised it's even worth bothering the day after - I once heard post-birth sex described as 'like throwing a banana down Oxford Street'...

Wow, you lot are all so keen! It was 5 months after my ds was born, my bits & pieces were so damaged. Tried a few times before that but it wasn't happening!
So, I would say do it when it doesn't make you howl ...................... with pain! (unless you are into S&M of course)

have a friend whose (now ex) h demanded a blow job by her hospital bedside the day she'd had an emergency caesarian. Vomit.

personally I left it as long as I could!
