Or would it just be an instant 'no'?

instant 'no'

sazzerbear · 23/11/2008 13:38

Depends how much cash he's got LOL

NutterlyUts · 23/11/2008 13:38

Depends on his bank balance...

shitehawk · 23/11/2008 13:39

I once dated someone who was almost as old as my father - two years younger.

We were together for about three years, and the age gap just wasn't an issue.

If he's nice, then why not? We're all 21 in our heads anyway ...

wonderstuff · 23/11/2008 13:39

WHY?

daftpunk · 23/11/2008 13:39

instant "no"

Flightattendant4 · 23/11/2008 13:40

Oh you mercenary lot

He is quite well off...

smellen · 23/11/2008 13:41

No.

sazzerbear · 23/11/2008 13:41

Go for it, if he makes you happy and nobody gets hurt...

edam · 23/11/2008 13:42

no! I was chatted up once by a millionaire the same age as my Dad but just couldn't get over the yuck factor.

wonderstuff · 23/11/2008 13:42

tell us more...

Flightattendant4 · 23/11/2008 13:45

ahem

he is lovely, gorgeous, very 'young' really

very adventurous
very rich

There is a little bit of a moment when I think 'oh no I can't, you're too old' but I think that's because we haven't known each other long

it took me 6 months to sleep with ds1's father...

Carmenere · 23/11/2008 13:45

Well my dad is 78 so probably not as that would make me a gerontophile but I did really, really fancy a 60 yr old I met last year, he said if he had been 20 years younger I would have been in big trouble

muggglewump · 23/11/2008 13:47

My Dad will be 84 next month so erm Ewwwww, good god no!

Flightattendant4 · 23/11/2008 13:49

Carm

Yes he is about 60.

I have no problem attracting older men. I don';t know why.

Do you know how it makes me feel? When I was 9 we went to see Tom Baker in some play at the theatre. I went to meet him backstage and he came out to all these children lined up with their dr Who paperbacks. He was like, 'Hell-ooooooooooooo!!!' and talked to us all for ever, and I asked him for a cuddle and I got one

It reminds me of that

Same type of bloke, just utterly lovely and lively and wonderful.

I feel about 9 again. is that a bad thing though

"I have no problem attracting older men. I don't know why".

Errrr. Anyone else smell the coffee?

Flightattendant4 · 23/11/2008 13:50

wot? explain!

OP posts:
shitehawk · 23/11/2008 13:51

If you think he is lovely and gorgeous, and if adventurous (and rich ) is attractive to you, then what's the problem really?

I have to say that if you can't go with your instincts, and if you really need to validate your feelings by asking other people what they think, you're not that into him.

smellen · 23/11/2008 13:52

Well, I would have thought that one of the main attractions of a woman 20-30 yrs your junior (as a man) would be the fact that you were dating a woman 20-30yrs your junior. In a culture that equates youth with beauty, most men would love a (much) younger partner.
Also it reflects well on them amongst their peers - e.g. "I'm so virile I can keep a much younger woman happy". Or am I just a horrid old cynic?

Carmenere · 23/11/2008 13:52

I'm nearly 38 so a 60 yr old is fine I think. Dp is 50 and whilst we have lots of different tastes (Led Zepplin for eg) we have loads in common.

ruddynorah · 23/11/2008 13:54

probably not. though i could fancy someone that old. but in terms of having a proper relationship, no.

dh is 15 years older than me, that's about old enough really for me. my ex was 12 years older. i always attract older men than ones my own age for some reason.

Carmenere · 23/11/2008 13:54

Well if the man in question is an idiot smellen you might have a point
As far as the 60 yr old last year we had bucketloads of chemistry between us (and quite a bit of wine admittedly)

Flightattendant4 · 23/11/2008 13:54

Oh no I see. So maybe he just likes me because I'm younger
