Is he cheating? Urgent advice please!

Need urgent advice please because I don't know what to make of this and I'm incapable of keeping my emotions in! Months ago I found the back of an earring on my bed and confronted DH because I'm sure it wasn't mine, he was very convincing that there was nothing untoward going on. Naive as this may sound I don't think he's the sort that would cheat, I don't see how he'd even have the time for it (he works full time and we have 2 young DC). So I chalked it up to the cleaner/something I'd forgotten that got caught up and moved inadvertently.

This evening I have just found half a fake nail on my upstairs landing and I have no explanation of where it could have come from. I've fully panicked and managed to look through DHs phone. I didn't find anything on WhatsApp, Facebook or text messages.

I do not know what to do. I want to confront him because I'm terrible at hiding my feelings but I assume if anything IS going on he will just play it off again. What should I do? Apologies for the rushed and possibly incoherent message! x

I came on to say that in my experience, if you think a man might be cheating then he almost certainly is.

And on the odd occasion that they are not, they are hiding something else.

I am sorry that it turned out to be this. But better you know now.

And no, men do not contact prostitutes for a chat and a massage......well they do but not the sort that he is trying to persuade you of.

I haven’t read all the thread but I wouldn’t jump to conclusions too quickly.

Maybe you should...

All or just the vast majority? Surely there are some honest men who are genuinely very in love with their partners.

My father has been genuinely in love with my mother all his life, he says. Didnt stop him cheating at least twice, and those are only the ones I know of because he slipped up and messaged me instead her/them. Yeah, thats what you want to see from your Dad......

I agree that in the right conditions, they are all the type.

Op the case is weak at best. If you really want answers you’ll need to sit on it and dig yourself. You will never know if you ask him outright now!!!

O00ps · Yesterday 20:55

OMG! What an absolute. ***er.
I'm so sorry you are going through this.
What does he need a massage for?
Why can't he chat to you, family, friends or colleagues?
Crappy excuses for the worst behaviour ever!
Well done getting this far to finding some truth, you would have been gaslit again if you just confronted him before seeing the messages on his works phone.

Lostinbrum · Yesterday 20:55

Oh no so sorry OP. Has he brought them into your home? How else would rhe earring back and nail get there?

Alright alright Clever!
Sorry Op just saw your update

Ophy83 · Yesterday 21:01

Is he really so low that he would cheat in your house?! Do you ever come home and find he has changed the bedding?

If not, have you had any other visitors recently?

ETA: he might have got a nail on him and it fell off when he got back. Sorry you are going through this

LeavingAtLast · Yesterday 21:03

I’m so sorry OP. Don’t let him weasel his way back in, you possibly know only the tip of the iceberg. Get others around you now and get legal advice. Flowers

So sorry to hear this OP. What a shock.

Women's intuition is generally spot on so I thought there might be something.

I haven't seen your previous thread (that I recall) but I am so glad you've kicked him out on the strength of this - never mind anything else.

I let my ex talk me around the first time i caught him. Made me extremely unwell until he eventually left me on his terms.

I'd advise any woman to get rid instantly.

I hope you're ok and have some in person support over the coming weeks.

I’m so sorry this is happening to you, one of my friends told me about someone from their work who regularly has prostitutes to the house when he is WFH and his wife is in the office. I couldn’t believe it.

Elliemayclampett · Yesterday 21:08

My XH was cheating.. the AP left a fake nail in the car, in the passenger side door handle bit for me to find.

HappyHedgehog247 · Yesterday 21:12

I think the earring and the nail suggests they have been in the house? Unlikely to bring two things back on your clothing?

Beeloux · Yesterday 21:13

I would be suspicious too.

Accrylic nails don’t usually just break. I had them for years and now use Primarks cheapest glue on ones and have a bad habit of pulling them off. They take a lot of force.

PP are saying that if you haven’t found anything on his phone then nothing to worry about. Cheaters delete the messages so they don’t have a trace.

I checked my exs phone and nothing showed up but a work colleague matched with him on Tinder.

You could speak to the cleaner and confirm if she had fake nails on. If not I would ask him outright in person. You can normally tell by the reaction.

HollyhocksandPeons · Yesterday 21:14

PennyChange · Yesterday 19:24

Has he ever given you a reason not to trust him in the past?

Has no relevance - every cheater has started sometime, and for every cheater there was a time before he was a cheater.

I've told him to leave. He's expecting me to believe he used them for a conversation and a massage! He is adamant he's never had anyone on our house.

Even in the extremely unlikely case that he has just been secretly using prostitutes for conversation and a massage, that is bad enough.

Chilihealer · Yesterday 21:16

He’s definitely had someone in your house the dirty bastard, don’t let him talk his way out of this!

Beeloux · Yesterday 21:17

Just read the full thread! So sorry OP, what a scumbag.

Please get a full std test and smear if possible.

crazymommaclub · Yesterday 21:19

mouseymouse123 · Yesterday 19:58

Thank you for this. I managed to get into his work phone. There is nothing recently but messages to what I assume are prostitutes in January. I'm absolutely blindsided. I just left the house while he was doing kids bedtimes. Currently parked up and shaking like a leaf. I don't know what to do next. I'm terrified to talk to him.

Have You checked deleted photos and messages on his work phone? Also check recent calls and internet search history. I would also check his emails if you can. At least then you can confront him with proof. I’m so sorry Op x

Could he be into dressing up in female attire? Some blokes go very far with details like earrings and fake nails.

Any of your garments being misplaced?

Very well could be!
