I actually love this level of pettiness about the flowers 🤣 it’d be a win win for me really; I’d get a lovely bunch of flowers and seeing him get wound up would just be an added bonus!

Might take some of the sting off the last 5 months.

Maybe even turn up just before 10am with an overnight bag AND in your hand some flowers that you just bought home. He can read into that whatever he likes 😂

Better still, order them from a florist and have them delivered at drop off time. They can be on the doorstep when he arrives. Even better if they carry a note saying something like, 'Thank you for a wonderful night. Xx' 🤭

It’s because you are a lovely person and you’d never do that. However you can definitely use this to your advantage to have a little fun at his expense. The best thing is Mumsnetters will have lots of ideas of petty ways to get under his skin whilst appearing like you are just out there living your best life.

The sad thing was I thought they were being serious about ‘relaxing after a long SHIT’ didn’t even occur to me it was supposed to be ‘shift’ 😳🫣

The problem is, having them delivered at drop-off time runs the risk of them getting trashed if he gets there before you do. Personally, I'd go out and treat yourself to a nice breakfast, and get a small bunch of flowers on the way back - the kind of token gesture you might get on an early date. Save the delivery option for later on, for your birthday or Mother's Day.

But he doesnt know that. You are acting as if he doesnt matter at all to you, you have been calm, level headed and firm in the face of his provocation. So all he does know is that he is no longer a priority to you and (perhaps) someone else is, that will be eating him up inside.

As long as you act indifferent, thats all he will see. You are doing brilliantly!
