Disturbing inappropriate text before first date…

Hi everyone

i just wanted to share a disturbing text I’ve received from a guy.

The date was planned for this Friday and I received the below by text out of nowhere…no previous sexual talk, just planning the date. Totally icked out and disturbed. Urgh!

Quick checkin: Are you behaving yourself or do I need to intervene?

I think he’s checking to see I’m submissive - urgh!

I'm not really seeing that.😐

It sounds nonsensical if meant for you. It belongs in a context ...

Run for da hills.

Hope I don’t see him there again - loser

Probably meant for someone else being pervy - either way, hell no to that - I’ve told him my thoughts and blocked 🚫

Why are you encouraging him with a laughing text if this offends you?

Cheeseandolivesplease · Yesterday 22:37

I think he was sending it to another woman.

That's what I think. It's referencing an in joke.

I said before that I thought it can’t have been for me so I laughed thinking it must be for someone else. I was only offended once he confirmed the message was for me. I thought that maybe it was for his kid.

Yes I think that was the right move. He's juggling a few ladies I'd say!

Thinking about it more…I think you’re right. It’s for some poor other woman!

I think so. And then he got defensive when you suggested he had fired it to the wrong number so just denied it was for someone else. Had it been a text to a mate mistakenly sent, he'd have just said so.

Lighten up…

Yep, agreed. Glad you are throwing this one back OP.

I also think there’s a very high chance of this being the case.

Unless you are in Australia on the east coast, it probably wouldn’t be the same guy. I was on maternity leave and would take my DC out in the pram for a walk at various times of day. At one stage I was passing a good-looking man walking a dog. He was tall, nice features and looked fit. He tried the odd conversation starter and I was polite however I am married and at that time was very sleep deprived. I would have looked a fright truth be told I barely had time to wash and style hair. Whatever clothes thrown on. I must have struck his fancy (the haystack look lol). He was clearly aiming for some connection. I changed my walking routine and we never crossed paths again. It made me wonder if he tried this approach with any woman coming by. I once saw him walking with a woman and child, so that was even more off putting clearly he was in some kind of relationship.

Block and delete!!!! Lucky escape!!!!!

aquashiv · Today 02:12

I think he was sending it to another woman, sent it to you by mistake, didn’t want you to know he was chatting to someone else so said yes.

100% this!!

NoLifeguardOnDuty · Today 02:23

Eurgh! He's so gross 😂
Don't even cancel the date, just block.

"Are you behaving yourself" 😷 is absolutely sexual to him.

forgivingfiggy · Today 03:19

I can see it would be sexually suggestive if in the context of a flirtatious conservation. But without the context of ANY conversation, flirty or otherwise, it doesn’t make sense. Unless it’s bloody code words. But at no point would I receive that and be anything other than confused that someone was either asking we a straight up question with no context, or that someone was trying to imply a sexual domination preference WITH NO CONTEXT.

Bournetilly · Today 03:37

Definitely meant for someone else but he didn’t want to admit it. At least you know what he’s like now!

Idontcareboutthestateofmyhair · Today 03:38

Run, far away

Tinks2026 · Today 05:39

edit - I see you updated that he outed himself as a creep. Lucky you found out in time.

Ew you engaged in it. Thats sending mixed signals to him now. Not sure how you can get out of that now?

I think this might be a bit of a reach....

It could just be a clumsy attempt at flirtation, depending on what preceded it & if he knows you're out etc?

Pssedoffathis · Today 06:29

I would find this funny cute or maybe sexy depending on the context from my long term partner.. and I would reply in the context.
no context and from someoneI have known for 5 minutes, I would not like it at all. It would piss me off rather than finding it disturbing though.

Pinksalamanda · Today 06:30

Baffling to me how many people are so ready to excuse this dirty little creep for anything other than what this very clearly is.

i can only assume those of you convinced there is a harmless explanation have little to no dating experience in the past couple of decades. I’m happily married to one of the (few) non-creepy ones now, but prior to that when I was dating, the pool was absolutely overflowing with men who would take any random opportunity to show you their real intentions, with no shame whatsoever.

It really wouldn’t surprise me to find this one is also married OP. At least you know early on that this one isn’t worth investing time in. Unless you want a meaningless shag that is.

category12 · Today 06:37

I get the vibe he was feeling you out for dom/sub stuff too.

Oh dear.
I'm not sure I would be happy about that.

Maybe you could ask him what he means?
