I have a need for a female perspective on a situation I find myself in.

for context, I have been with DW for 20 years, but over the past couple of years it has been purely platonic.
here’s what’s started to do my head in. A mum at one of my son’s sports clubs has taken a beeline to me. It started with a friendly smile and hello, but has progressed to her insisting on walking back to the car park with me and our respective children in tow. This happened again yesterday and I couldn’t get her out of my head last night. Am I reading too much into this?

You should stop the pick ups and swap with DW. Tell her why.

Focus on fixing your marriage or separation, but your fixation on this other woman makes you sound really rather ridiculous and sleazy.

You're so naïve @BeMauveOrca - it sounds very much like you have very little experience of women in general and the many, varied, complex and ever changing relationships they can and do have with men. You need a long hard look at yourself and your own relationship - unsophisticated thinking like this is seriously unattractive.

In most relationships, sooner or later the woman (usually the woman) will lost interest in sex. So you have to decide whether you want to stay with your DW and not have sex, or move on to someone else, have a lot of sex for a few years and then end up in the same situation. Eventually you'll become old and no-one will be interested in you so you risk ending up alone.

You are being so odd OP. And maybe you should avoid using phrases you don't know the meaning of. Perhaps leave this poor woman alone and a previous poster was right - describing your relationship with your WIFE as platonic because you are not getting sex and then saying your 'head has been turned' by some woman chatting with you. What a sorry state.

I was agreeing with @OriginalSkang to begin with.
But I think she took it the wrong way thought she would have realised.
But im sure she may come back to tell me to type better or explain better.
I just left it with an eye role as I and many others can't get anything right.

Some mums like to befriend dads because they perceive it will be less drama or because they have enough mum friends and some mums take pity on a nervous looking dad and so she 'adopts' him to make him feel welcomed. I think the woman is just friendly and your lack of sex is making you desperate for any attention. You need to seriously fix things or end the marriage because the path you are on will lead to cheating.

If the woman was unattractive and or the man was saturated with sexual and romantic attention he would not give the interaction a second thought. When a man wants to shag a woman because he is lonely or finds her beautitul then everything she does will affect him. If he didnt want her she could offer it on a plate and he'd 'not notice'. Men are excellent at blanking out sexually uninteresting women.
