I hope you don't mid me asking this Dior but, has your doctor ever looked a bit deeper into your depression? Or does he just listen and dish the pills. I just wondered if you have been checked for bipolar or something similar maybe. You just seem to have such dramatic dips in your mood, it must be very debilitating for you to find yourself thrown into a depression but not really know why. Are you totally honest with your doctor or do you go there and try to make out that everything is alright

lilyloo · 16/06/2008 21:18

true Dior you can't be 'wise' at everything can you

macdoodle · 16/06/2008 21:18

Am here was interesting meeting - am not up to posting lots thoughts chasing round in my head - emotionally drained - am going to drink some wine tidy my house bake some banana bread and go to bed - have asked H if we can talk in the morning he sounded worried and made excuses about work I said we really need to
Will report back when my head is a bit straighter ...but thank you all for support (especially yoda aka TFM )....
Baffy I hope you got home - I know how it is I have taken a step back from a lot of the management tasks at work as it was taking all my time - my partners have been pretty good - though have taken on task of trying to sort out our appointment system (nightmare) but could not bear all 4 other partners shouting simultaneously at our poor manager who is only trying to help and got stuck in the middle so now thats my job - but good to take my mind off everything else

Oooh I just love Westlife! I adore them! I've been listening/singing/dancing like a looney to Whole lotta History with DD this evening

TimeForMe · 16/06/2008 21:21

MacD!! Good to hear from you. I hope you will feel better about things in the morning, I don't expect a trip to the solicitor has been a magical solution to everything but you have made the first step to claiming back your life. Well done you!!! You have a good nights sleep and try post tomorrow to let us know you are ok. We can wait for the details until you are ready to share them. No hurry xxx

I like Celine Dion too Lily but I am knocking on a bit you know Celine Dion has seen me through some rough times. Singing my head off with tears rolling down my face with 3 little ones all asleep in bed and me wondering how I was going to cope. As I got stronger I switched to Meatloaf and there was no stopping me!

lilyloo · 16/06/2008 21:28

ooh Meatloaf now i like that
i am an Elvis kinda girl

Oh yes, I like a bit of Elvis too. I was into Donny Osmond when I was little, I even had a Donny Osmond hat
Now if i told you that I also love Cascada would that make me trendy?

lilyloo · 16/06/2008 21:33

Have no idea who is that ? as i said i am into Elvis def not trendy with my music

TimeForMe · 16/06/2008 21:33

ALL BY MY-SE-EE-ELF, DON'T WANNA BE, ALL BY MY-SE-EELF! Now can you picture the scene, me newly separated, Celine on the stereo and me singing my heart out..... those were the days

TimeForMe · 16/06/2008 21:35

Oh you can have a right good boogie to Cascada, I dance even better when my legs are playing up and my coordination is off

lilyloo · 16/06/2008 21:38

TimeForMe · 16/06/2008 21:41

macdoodle · 16/06/2008 21:43

lilyloo · 16/06/2008 21:45

At least 'hopefully' one of us would notice before we got eaten by the alsatian
I would loveto see meatloaf , actually i have never been to a concert ever and i am now 30 years old !

TimeForMe · 16/06/2008 21:53

P took me to see Meatloaf last year. I was amazed at the number of pensioners there! There was one old lady waving her walking stick! I thought I was maybe too young for Meatloaf

Paddlechick666 · 16/06/2008 22:09

I used to have a red leather jacket and I traced the Meatloaf off Bat Out Of Hell and painted it in right across the back of the jacket.

Saw him about 3 times live and am a total Rocky Horror Picture Show freak and geek!

I'm hanging out for Leonard Cohen and Neil Diamond at Glasto!

HappyWoman · 17/06/2008 07:56

Dior only fridays for lunch? lets try and fit a few in - yes low fat......!
Dior my weekly schedule nearly always starts off with the same intentions but unfortunately with dc involved it is nearly always turned on its head. Next week is school play and i will be feeding the five thousand who gravitate to ours as we are next to the school and it saves them having to go home first. Still i get lots of favours in return .

Lush - Yes i think i feel the same as you - it is no longer such a negative emotion more of a mission to make others understand fully the mess these work place affairs cause. I sort of want to shake her and say - 'so was it really worth it?' And in doing so make others see i am not the 'pushover' wife and that we should not just 'accept' affairs as a part of modern life.
To be fair there is a new head of HR who has put in place a lot of new policies and was surprised they had not thought about it before now.

I dont think people do get over it - it will be a part of all our lives forever - even my children will now have a view on it. But the trick is to try and make it in some way a positive force now.
Gererally there are more positives now - more holidays and weekends just the 2 of us for one . And more of a sense of living for the moment.
If i sometimes have to have the black thoughts it is only serves to make the good times seem better now.
I think i was lucky in that i was always able to remember the good times - i have lots of photos to remind me and they mean a lot to me.
I will not become a bitter twisted old hag - but i will have some sad experiences to draw upon which i hope will help others understand in the future too.

Just being able to help others on here is a great help - and the sad memories it sometimes evokes is a small price to pay imo.

Have a lovely day everyone.

Baffy · 17/06/2008 09:07

Very quick hello

Macd I'm glad you went and you're ok and I hope your talk goes well this morning xx

I worked here until 7 last night, I put ds to bed and worked at home until midnight, then was back in here at 7 this morning!

As soon as I get the accounts out today I'm taking the rest of the day off, I'm going to go for a run and then a facial and try and relax.
Keep your fingers crossed for me! If I'm still here at 5 tonight I will be going for that run... straight into the middle of the motorway!!!

LOL PC at the jacket !

Baffy you need to speak to someone about this, do you have a manager ? You are going to make yourself ill and then you won't be any use to the company anyway.

Can you not even do half a day once a week to have some you / ds time and someone else step into the breech or that afternoon.
The problem is if you don't set something in stone then it's all too easy to get caught up in things and it doesn't happen. That was a key factor in me goin 3 days rather than 5 mornings as i knew i would get caught up in things and end up doing longer hours.

Baffy · 17/06/2008 10:31

Thanks guys

My boss is a Director so he literally has no time to see me let alone actually help me.

I've set up a meeting with him and my staff for the end of next week, in which I'll make sure we go through all the issues we've had this month. And we're not leaving that room until we get some solutions!!

I'm going to take some of your ideas on board though and I think I'm going to have 2 days a week where I leave at 4.30 with no questions asked!!!
