Wow OP your character shines through in your posts - you are so inspiring! I can't wait to hear his response when the keys drop through onto the door mat.

Re breaking the news to the girls I don't have any advice but I will say you clearly have excellent judgement and you will come to the right decision. You are also clearly the girls anchor so though they will obviously be perturbed by the news having you there will no doubt be a huge comfort to them, they know they can rely on you.

NinaGeiger · 11/03/2025 20:31

You're such an impressive person Op. Good luck over the next few days.

fivegreenmonkeys · 11/03/2025 20:39

I’m in a coöd country but we are adviced to keep tea lights in the car, because they do warm the car up. Friends got stuck on the road for 48 hrs in the snow with thousands of other cars, and you want to be able to charge your phone, eat, pee, keep warm/cold, be somewhat entertained.

IDoWhateverItTakes · 11/03/2025 20:44

I would get a ring doorbell and/or cameras on your front and back doors immediately while he's away.

the law has changed, it is now legal to cohabitate. Even before the change, plenty of people did. You are correct on the visa issue, a company will not pay for a visa if they aren’t married. However, there is also a lot of ways round this and visa runs to Oman are common. However, medical insurance, bank account, phone contract etc with be problematic without an emirates id. Which you can’t get without a visa. All in all, doing this for a up to a year would be a massive ball ache.

I said that it is legal to cohabit?
I’m not sure i can see a company scrambling for an Oman visa to let a man’s mistress move with him, hopefully not!

Apologies, I misread legal for illegal. The visa run would just be to get a stamp on the passport to not overstay the Dubai visitors visa.

andfinallyhereweare · 11/03/2025 20:59

@Jessa85 be very careful when driving your girls this week in his car wouldn’t it be awful if something edible and smelly got stuck under a seat that could cause the car to have a bad smell! That would be awful- you know how messy children can be. Could be very hard for him to find as well.

please will people realise that a divorce achieves almost nothing without a proper and fair financial settlement.
In fact if you divorce and he dies before you get your share of his pension you will actually lose out- as a wife you might also get death in service benefits.

Maybe - but she has to divorce him - he’s a hideous excuse for a man and he’s spent years bringing her down and bullying her in so many different ways in addition to -financial coercion . He needs to have no semblance of legal connection with her. She is going to absolutely fly without him. She’s incredible x

Is this a really weird thing to say…? But when I read this and think of your future i feel massive happiness and positivity. You are going to have the time of your life without this guy…

Yes - me too…. I just wrote somewhere else .. I really think @Jessa85 is going to fly.

Not sure why you’ve quoted me here? Your response is not relevant to my post.

HowlongdoIwait · 11/03/2025 21:52

Just read your thread from start to finish and wanted to wish you luck. Not that I think you'll need it. You've clearly got everything covered. You're a true inspiration

LunaDeBallona · 11/03/2025 22:03

I might get slated for this but just for my own satisfaction l would make sure l look a million dollars when you drop the car off. Whether either of them sees you or not I would do it for my own self esteem.
Hair blow dried, make up, your favourite outfit and fabulous sunglasses then it matters not if your eyes are red. And I would go out tomorrow and buy myself lots of new clothes from the joint account. You need a new wardrobe for your new life.
Im so very impressed with you - we women are just amazing when we have to come out fighting.
You are wonderful - never forget that.
I would also put a cat turd in his favourite shoes/smeared on his fave jumper etc and say the cat must have done it whilst I was packing but I’m petty like that. I’m sure you will rise far above my pettiness!

BrendaSmall · 11/03/2025 22:07

Jessa85 · 28/02/2025 12:35

I said to him, if he thinks I look drab and should get new clothes then maybe I could do that if I had more disposable income for myself. His reply??

'Well then maybe you need to find a better paying job'

Absolute POS.

If you work, why haven’t you got any spare spending money?

If you've time to comment, you've time to read the OP's posts to find that out.

mnahmnah · 11/03/2025 22:22

Just imagine her reaction once he’s living with her and she has to deal with his food issues. And washing. And cleaning. She must make sure she is dolled up for all that though.

LaughingCat · 11/03/2025 23:14

I am in awe of you OP - just binge-read your last thread and this one and to see the change has been inspiring. Everything happens for a reason - you were absolutely meant to realise his dickwaddery, find your own strength and already get into the LTB headspace before learning about the affair. Good luck for Thursday. I hope it all goes well and he gets the nasty shock he deserves. That one single move will crush his ego - he has clearly sneeringly written you off as the ‘little woman’ so when you not only withstand his casual abandonment of yourself and the girls but actually pre-empt it with your own power move…that will hit him where it hurts.

You have drive, you have balls and you are shining so bright right now, he won’t even be able to look at you directly 💪

Thank you for all the advice. My head is getting a little overwhelmed so I'm going to take some time to mull it all over and decide whats best.

I'll be back in a couple of days with an update for you all xx

I've just read all your posts on both threads. Wow! I never expected your first post about cutted up vegetables and ridiculous food habits to take such a turn and end up with a secret mistress and a new life in UAE.
He's an utterly repulsive pig, but I imagine you must feel betrayed nonetheless.
I've never been married and my last relationship was 20 years ago and I'm still taken by surprise at how utterly selfish, entitled and disrespectful some men are. Turns my stomach!
His mistress clearly sounds excited about their new life together..seeing a man occasionally in the context of an affair can be very sexy- but does she realise that when they actually live together, and the novelty wears off,. she'll be having to cut up his veggies into tiny stupid pieces, be his servant and pay half the bills too?.UAE ain't cheap.
I'd love to be a fly on the wall when he arrives at hers and finds his car there 😂 Welcome home! 😂😂

All I really wanted to say is here's another woman rooting for you and wishing you all.the best! Onwards and upwards!

Jessa85 · 11/03/2025 11:15

Just a note to say, my jokes along with the cat litter etc are to be taken with a pinch of salt. I share the humour here but I'm not going to do anything to jeopardise my aims.

I will be dropping the car off on Thursday and simply putting the keys through the door with a note re my solicitor being in touch.

I'm not changing the locks or doing anything like that without my solicitors advice.

on one hand it's good to be the bigger person - on the other a little bit of spilt milk in the car just before you drop it off will dry and leave no evidence, and won't start to smell for a few days/weeks so can't be linked directly back to you - but when it does start whiffing is a pita to get rid of 😉

Weepixie · 11/03/2025 23:44

I’m not sure i can see a company scrambling for an Oman visa to let a man’s mistress move with him, hopefully not!

Visa runs to Oman are a normal part of life for many who are in the UAE and are extending stays, or changing from one UAE sponsor to another. It’s very simple to do. Drive or fly into Oman, get your passport stamped, drive or fly back to the UAE. It’s as simple as that. Not that I think anyone is going to be working in the UAE, or that their affair partner will be going either unless on she goes to cheer herself up.

Horses7 · 12/03/2025 00:10

Well done OP, hope it all goes according to plan.

2catsandhappy · 12/03/2025 01:38

OW will go to the airport to pick up dickhead, I bet my comfy settee on it.

Maybe you @Jessa85 could nip to OW house to drop his property and car off, put the keys through the door while she is at the airport? They'll arrive back to hers expecting to love nest in secret and find out they are rumbled. Instead of tripping over themselves to get inside, they'll be tripping over their jaws.
That awkward moment when they realise that the stbew is helping them be together.

On a practical note, you will need someone to drive with you on Thursday, to give you a lift back. Can they video you putting the keys through her door, proving you have returned his property? If he gets nasty or lies, you have proof.

Confusedmeanderings · 12/03/2025 02:46

You are amazing OP. Update ys when you can.

So it’s not company sponsored? My company had to apply for my dhs spouse visa when we moved to London.
