To shave or not to shave?

I've NC for this. I have met a new man it's early days and we are getting to know each other all is going well so far. sounds silly but I'm quite anxious about when it comes to the point of taking things further. Will he expect me to be fully shaven down below or is it still acceptable to have a "landing strip" which I prefer I really dont like to be fully shaven or the faff of doing it. I've not been intimate with a man for a long time. Do most women fully remove pubic hair now and do men expect to see women fully shaved?

Whatever you want to do. Adult women have pubic hair.

If nature intended women not to have body hair... we'd have none.

I wouldn't be shaving to look like a child for no man...in actual fact I'd be seriously concerned if any man wanted that.

Why are you bringing children into this?

Very weird.

Don't be ridiculous!

it's obvious what I'm saying adult women have body hair.

MySoCalledWife · 13/06/2023 22:48

Do all your men have beards?

I guess yes

as it’s natural for man to have a beard

daysleepers · 13/06/2023 23:07

It's up to you and what you feel comfortable with. To answer your Q. I'm not a fan either of having it all off and go with landing strip.

SauceForTheGoose · 13/06/2023 23:10

I go for the full English, but a tidy version. Like a full English at The Ivy say.

Setting · 13/06/2023 23:14

Don’t remove any. I can’t do anything or I get rashes/spots no matter what I’ve tried. My DH also likes me to look like a woman and not a small child, and I can’t imagine gyrating against one day one shave stubble/sand paper is much fun.

Oh not this again!

UndercoverCop · 13/06/2023 23:20

I don't bother waxing etc, did for a bit in my younger days but always seemed to spend more time with ingrowing hairs, chicken skin or stubble.
I just use a Veet trimmer thing these days, just for a tidy up. I swim a lot and it stops any strays escaping the sides of my cossie!

Was waiting for this comment. Well done. 🙄

Ilovetea42 · 13/06/2023 23:39

I would suggest that if he has a negative reaction to it then you bin him rather than your bush... any sensible man won't give a toss!

MissingMoominMamma · 13/06/2023 23:40

I’ve always had the full meadow. If (heaven forbid) anything ever happened to DH, and I felt the need, whoever was the lucky recipient of my affections would need to be ok with that.

Whatever you do- do it for you.

intothegreek · 13/06/2023 23:44

I shave it all off, I got the impression my new (10 months) partner prefers grass on the pitch. I don't. So tough. In short he really doesn't care, as long as he's getting his end away 😂

arethereanyleftatall · 13/06/2023 23:49

Your thought process is so so wrong op.

Why? Why would you even think of changing it from how you want to have it?

There is no chance on earth he's thinking 'oooh I must go and spend £50 and be in pain for half an hour to please op'

So - why would you?

You need to stop thinking, at all, about whether he likes you, and focus, entirely, on whether you like him.

Seddon · 13/06/2023 23:58

Ignoring all the posters projecting their own issues and going back to the OP's actual question - which was landing strip or no landing strip, the rest of the hair coming off is a given - I honestly don't think it matters. That's not much of a difference really, is it?

By that logic, all men that are clean shaven look like children... and women who like clean-shaven men must be secret paedos... Confused

arethereanyleftatall · 14/06/2023 07:19

A clean shaven man would give me the ick.

rainyalan · 14/06/2023 07:22

Have it however you want OP. I like to be hair free down there and my partners to at least be trimmed. Nothing worse IMO than going down on someone with lots of pubic hair.

To the poster who said being hair free is like being compared to a child grow up!

arethereanyleftatall · 14/06/2023 07:36

@rainyalan
I am genuinely intrigued, I promise not goady, as to why you've taken offence to that comment? Isn't hairless literally exactly the same as a pre pubescent girl?

canigetitmyself · 14/06/2023 07:40

To quote kathy burke....

What's wrong with an 'airy fanny?!

canigetitmyself · 14/06/2023 07:45

Thing is, you can shave if you want but it keeps coming back: stubborn stuff

Just keep it tidy and not overgrown. I think hair is nicer than stubble as long as it's not a jungle

HRTeatime · 14/06/2023 07:52

Most men really aren’t too fussed what the shape and state of your bush is as long as they are allowed near it, I’m pretty sure. Just keep it the way you like it op.

On a side note, I can honestly say I’ve never in my life had a conversation with friends about what they do with their pubic hair, how the hell did that come up in casual conversation??

A child's vagina looks very different to an adult female, that has gone through puberty..

it is obvious but still very weird - even hairless adult body looks nothing like child's, so don't make things creepy to prove a point that doesn't need proving
