Found a mobile in DH's desk draw

worried2jsb · 05/06/2023 14:25

I was tidying up DH's home office when I found a mysterious mobile in the draw, I feel devastated. I managed to turn it on but it's got a passcode.

After all the times I've read about this on mumsnet I never thought it would happen to me but when I think about it he has been distant lately, seems distracted and he has been working late popping off to meeting later in the day etc.

DH doesnt know I've found it and he is out at the moment, does anyone have any words of advice or how to go about bringing it up?

OP, could you say to him your phone has really been playing up and you need to take it to get looked at and does he by any chance have an old phone he doesn't need anymore laying around somewhere that you could borrow whilst its being fixed.

If he say no. Then you know he lying about owning the phone.

If he says something like oh actually I have this one Geoff gave me when he left the company....
then you can breathe again.

BreehyHinnyBrinnyHoohyHah · 05/06/2023 16:16

Good luck OP.

Was there kisses or emoji on message? If not I maybe its an affair? I hope not OP

Takemyhandwreckmyplans · 05/06/2023 16:19

Not much point hiding an iPhone, he'll be able to remotely wipe it.

I'd be trying every pass code i could think of. Sorry that's happening op.

Billyho · 05/06/2023 16:19

Hopefully he will have a rationale explanation

Fraaahnces · 05/06/2023 16:21

Can you get someone to download everything on the sim to your phone?

HootyMcBooby76 · 05/06/2023 16:21

I would personally bide my time and see what he says tomorrow, why he says he is going to be late home etc, or where he says he is going.

Alternatively, can you say to him that you're freaked out because you're sure you heard a phone ringing / alerting somewhere in the house and then have a little chuckle to yourself - it will make him paranoid that he's left the volume up or the phone turned on. If he's above board he will say "oh that might be the old phone in my drawer" and if he's sneaky he won't say anything but you will hear him / see him checking on the phone in his office.

It's an affair

What, like the other thread running about the top up message?

That was absolutely, definitely, 100% an affair.

SPOILER ALERT: It actually wasn't.

Is there an update i do hope it's not bad .

If you want to see all the OAp’s posts, click on see all at the bottom right if any of her posts. If there is an update, you’ll see it. A bit tasteless, waiting breathlessly for one so obviously though.

caringcarer · 05/06/2023 16:27

Can you guess the passcode? My dh used children birthdays.

tattygrl · 05/06/2023 16:27

Wishing you all the best, OP.

Thisisjustmyface · 05/06/2023 16:29

This is shit op. I think most people would jump to the same conclusion that you are.

inadarkdarkhouseinadarkdarkstreet · 05/06/2023 16:29

Good luck OP. I know this isn't a pleasant alternative scenario, but I would consider that if someone running a business had a spare phone hidden in a drawer, rather than an affair it's possible that there could be some shady business activities going on.

BitOutOfPractice · 05/06/2023 16:33

How did you open an iPhone without a code / face?

sadlittlelifejane · 05/06/2023 16:34

Good luck! Better to know than be in the dark x

She took the sim card out.

Thoughtful2355 · 05/06/2023 16:36

I hope its good news but honestly it doesnt sound promising does it -_- a phone thats hidden and turned off , youd turn it off so that no one can hear it ring

There’s this really cool feature on phones that lets you silence them without turning them off 🙄

What was the outcome of the top up thread?

I agree with this. He will most likely deny it if you just confront him and then he will be more clever in hiding his tracks.

Sorry for the minor derailment OP. Hope there is a satisfactory outcome for you.
