dH topping up mystery phone

So I doubt a text saying, thanks for topping up, I called the number 141 in front imagine my horror when a woman answered?
What is this?
I have no idea what he's topping up from, no other accounts???
And who is it? Why would he top someone else's phone up???

Maybe you should ask him who it is. Then after he has told you you can ask him to call the number on loud speaker to “prove” who it is.

Who tops up phones nowadays? Where did you find the message, im not quite clear what's happened

If you have assumed immediately that there's something dodgy going on then surely the marriage is on the rocks anyway?

No WhatsApp and top ups does indicate burner. Could be his and he left it with her or he is topping hers up.
could be one he uses to contact his dealer.
Either way it’s dodge. A one off could be a scam but since it’s been a couple of months then no.
Can you check his bank account? Can you go on his online banking to check he has no other accounts linked.

I don't think that is necessarily the case. It's really difficult to think of something non-dodgy that would explain it. My marriage is fine as far I know, but if I saw something like this I would be starting to wonder.

Can you be sure op. Me and dh have all joint accounts but only he can view our savings account on online banking. I have another account for dc that he obviously knows about but can’t view.

Do you have Snapchat? If you save the number in your phone and then sync to find new contacts then it should bring up a name in Snapchat if one exists.
I'm pretty convinced he's cheating but I'd be tempted to watch and wait for a little while, try to access emails, passwords etc and get a fuller picture of what is going on.

Call back and ask who she is. If it is an innocent thing, she might admit who she is (I'm Sandra, I work with Brian'). If it's not innocent, she probably won't but still useful info

You will have to call her back and ask.

put the number into Google and see what comes up.
put it into social media sites and see what comes up.

add it to what’s app to see the display pic (if there is one)

Unless he's got a burner himself, he was a bit silly setting that up for her, he must be desperate.

When you top up a phone, doesn't the 'thanks for topping up' text always go to the number that was topped up? Why would he get the text if it's not his number receiving the credit?
