Do you like this engagement ring?

My boyfriend has proposed with a temporary ring and has said I can pick the ring I want. (something I’ve always wanted to do).

I don’t want anything too expensive as I don’t particularly like jewellery and don’t want to spend thousands.

I have found one I like, very simple and not fancy at all but does it look like an engagement ring? What are your thoughts?

I know I’lol be the one wearing it but just wanted to know opinions on the style.

I have very similar as a wedding ring, so I love the style. People might assume its a wedding ring, but that’s not an issue if you like it!

But If you don’t like jewellery, remember you don’t have to have anything at all….

It looks more like a wedding or eternity ring to me but if you like it as an engagement ring, that's all that matters

What's important is that you love it!

But yes I think it's pretty. I like understated jewelery and never really saw the appeal of a massive rock on my finger, my engagement ring doesn't even have a stone. It's whatever makes you happy to see on your finger!

To me, that's an eternity ring (arguably a wedding band), not an engagement ring. You can see how it curves to fit the ring supposed to be above.

It’s nice enough but is clearly one of those wedding rings you get to fit around engagement rings.

It's very pretty so all that matters is if you like it. I didn't have an engagement ring and I have an eternity ring as a wedding ring.

That's a wedding ring designed to fit with a matching engagement ring. But if you like it wear it.

I have a very similar ring that is paired to a traditional engagement ring, the dip is where the large central stone of the more traditional ring sits when worn as a pair. More often I just wear the smaller one it's more practical! I think its nice.

Due to the curve, which is to accommodate a solitaire engagement ring, it won't be flush with a wedding band. It will look odd, imo.

It doesn't scream engagement ring to me and it's not personally my style but if you like it go for it. What other people think shouldn't matter.

@Benji1998 is this what you really really want? if you had a bespoke piece of jewellery made for you what would you want it to look like? What would this ring mean to you? I think start there and then start looking. What don’t you like jewellery? what do you think you’d like to wear everyday? What do you feel
you deserve? What colours do you like? What stones might you find pretty?

I'm asking theses questions so you can explore a bit more about what you might love.

I like this style but I do agree it doesn’t really look like an engagement ring. These are handmade in Cornwall which adds sentimental value to us too

I really like that gold one with the diamond, so elegant and a bit more engagement, not that it matters

It's very nice op. Just make sure you try it against a wedding ring if you are going to wear both to make sure you like how they look together....and that they fit. I have an unusual shaped engagement ring and ended up having to get a ring made to fit round it

We booked an appointment at Ernest Jones to look at wedding rings. You can try them all on & see what you like.

I ended up with a different ring than I’d been looking at online.

I found it worth the time for the appointment
