Name changed for this!! I don't even know why im posting!! I don't know anything yet?! Im hoping it's all innocent!!

Today my husband told me he was going off to golf! No problem, it's a hobby he's taken up in the last 6 months and goes off most weekends! He always said it's a good de stresser as we have 2 children under 5, one of which is an baby. So of course I've had no reason to suspect anything untoward!!

My friend text me saying she's seen him with a woman shopping in the next town over!!! She doesn't think he saw her.

I don't know what to do, say, do I ring him? Do I confront him when he's home? I'm hoping my friend is wrong 😩

Did he take any golf clubs out of the car when he got home? Surely to play golf you need to take clubs.

He took his golf bag with clubs in it and then brought it back, presumably with clubs it. He didn’t take all his clubs with him to play golf. Which is not unusual for golfers to do. Apparently.

Scooby5kids · 04/02/2023 17:43

If you get a bit more evidence you could confront him and demand to see the bank statement for this day as proof. If he's got nothing to hide then he will show you. I would wait before you got more evidence though. But i think there is definitely enough to be slightly suspicious and to look into it more. I'd say it's like 50/50 he could be incident. Let's go through with what we know so far...

Your mate throughly she saw a guy that looked your husband with a black vans shirt that he also owns... could be a coincidence that the guy also has the shirt but hmmm🤔

He left his golf clubs 🤔🤔🤔

He looked panicked when your friend mentioned where she was earlier 🤔

He says he's going to "fit a kitchen tomorrow" hmmm yeah I bet 🤔

Is his tracker back on op?

He didn't take his clubs to golf though?

Something is amiss but it's hard to know. Maybe try look at his phone when you can get it.

Yes, he did.

AllOfThemWitches · 04/02/2023 17:45

OP I hope you at least know that most posters actively want your husband to be having an affair.

Not just hysterical . Many MNers are posting like they're thoroughly enjoying the thread and have their own agendas .

ShakespearesBlister · 04/02/2023 17:45

Ok just read your update at him looking panicked and changed the subject when your friend mentioned the place she saw him at. That bit doesn't look too good really. I think you need to watch what develops. Perhaps go and visit the place yourself with your friend to buy some bits then guage his reaction when you show him your new things and tell him where you got them. Or.....next Saturday when he goes out, go there with your friend and sit around in the shop where she saw him.

heartbroken26 · 04/02/2023 17:46

Well @EmilyGilmoresSass I must be weird to sniff items of clothing! Are you honestly telling me you have never in your life sniffed clothing! And what I meant by unworn is it didn't smell of aftershave it smelled of clean washing

OP posts:
Hobbi · 04/02/2023 17:47

@JudgeRudy how did he lie about golf?

Hobbi · 04/02/2023 17:48

salcombebabe · 04/02/2023 17:20

He still didn’t take his golf clubs though OP 😥

Yes, he did.

Not just hysterical . Many MNers are posting like they're thoroughly enjoying the thread and have their own agendas .

Probably the only excitement they have in their obviously very boring lives.
They need a hobby, not sit on here rubbing their hands with glee at the thought of further gritty info.

DownNative · 04/02/2023 17:51

Either your friend was mistaken and saw his doppelganger.

Or she's lying to you for whichever reason.

There isn't enough grounds to suspect your husband of cheating on you. 🤷‍♂️

Passthechocolatesplease · 04/02/2023 17:52

It definite sounds like mistaken identity OP, don’t go looking for trouble when there is none, the fact that the shirt your friend saw him wearing is hanging in his wardrobe should be proof enough.

heartbroken26 · 04/02/2023 17:53

Ok, so now I have more reason to believe it wasn't my husband! He's on a friend's instagram story posted earlier playing golf!!! Oh my goodness! I feel such a sense of relief!

How awful to go through this.... I know how I am and I am terribly impulsive when upset so advise NOT to be impulsive especially without knowing for absolute definite.

I would.... chat tonight with your curry.... dig a little in the least suspicious way, bring up tomorrow, what friends kitchen and where, also if he goes to golf as often I would take the golf clubs out of the garage.... hide them, anywhere. See if he mentions or even asks about them!

It's so tricky and your doing so well to be so "calm" and controlled. Absolutely admire you for that as with children on top and having to be "normal" for them is incredibly hard xxx

cata09x · 04/02/2023 17:54

Panic over?!? I'm so pleased for you if this is the case. ❤️

DarkNecessities · 04/02/2023 17:54

Do people having affairs go shopping?

NotQuiteHere · 04/02/2023 17:55

Your friend must have been enjoying the spying drama!!!

Benjispruce4 · 04/02/2023 17:55

He could have hung the shirt back up when he got in and went for a shower.
Why start a thread asking for thoughts then try to shut them down. None of us know but your apparent good friend was 100% sure, he then looked shifty at the mention of the outlet and is spending lots of time away from his family. If you have no suspicions you’d just ask him outright telling him what your friend saw.

What a relief! You need to have a serious word with your friend though. She told you she was 100% sure it was him and fanned the drama by racing to yours for a hand hold and then sneaking to spy on him in the pub. She's totally fuelled this and needs to apologise!

Benjispruce4 · 04/02/2023 17:57

Ah just seen your update re Instagram. That must be a relief.
Perhaps you need to have a word with your friend.

How much earlier? Could he have contacted his mate to post a picture and cover for him?

Saturdaynoon · 04/02/2023 17:58

Definitely have a word with your friend. Does she normally attract drama...?
