Just created an account on Tinder for the first time since I deleted it last May. It always was quantity over quality but I'm not in a city so find that Bumble tends to run out of people within a reasonable distance.

What I hadn't previously experienced though were the obvious scammers. Numerous profiles, with pictures of the same woman (though not necessarily the same set of photos in each), bio would state that they were only looking for fun or that "matches don't show" before providing an Instagram handle. The name was always "Zoey" or possibly some spelling variations thereof. As I've only just started the account I had my distance set to within ten miles of where I live in Wales, yet their home towns were dotted across England and the distance from me was between 3,000 and 5,000 miles away. Somehow many of them had the blue tick of a verified account.

Still, I'll persist with the app anyway.
