Does your dp go for a poo in front of you

Help to settle a very light hearted discussion please. I've watched everything on Netflix and am this bored!

Been with dh for 5 years and we don't poo in front of each other. We were discussing ex relationships ( don't ask me how ) but the topic came up that my ex partner used to go for a poo in front of me ( never bothered me).

DH said it's weird and that he doesn't imagine many couples do this , I disagree and think it's probably quite common.

So do you/ your partner or has an ex ever done this ?

No way! I don't want to watch anyone urinate or defecate, and I don't want anyone watching me. I also find it disgusting if anyone leaves the loo in a dirty condition. It's just good manners to think of the other person.

HelpMeGetThrough · 20/12/2022 08:19

Been with my OH for 28 years. We've seen each other in many situations, but the toilet door is firmly shut when curling one out.

Talaforniababe · 20/12/2022 09:30

No, of course not! That's rank.

Talaforniababe · 20/12/2022 09:37

Two bathrooms in a house is non negotiable for me.

kimchifix · 20/12/2022 09:41

We wouldn't recoil in horror if mistakenly walking in when the other is on the loo, but frankly I have no desire to witness the whole process of DH taking a dump and I prefer privacy for myself. For one thing the smell of someone else's fresh poo is disgusting. Aside from the stench, there's probably a good reason in nature for not being right next to someone relieving themself and not wanting someone with you when you are doing that, so I'm sticking with my instincts!

SallyWD · 20/12/2022 09:45

God no!

MingeofDeath · 20/12/2022 10:11

No! I like to poo in peace.

StarlightLady · 20/12/2022 10:24

I wee in front of almost anyone but I always close the door for a poo!

Giggorata · 20/12/2022 10:25

Good heavens no.

Oldsu · 20/12/2022 10:31

DH and I usually go for a poo in private, however yesterday he was in the bath and I had some sort of sickness bug and was throwing up down the loo in front of him as I couldn't make it to the second bathroom, it cant have been nice for him but I had no choice

onedayiwillflyaway1 · 20/12/2022 10:32

Not something I would appreciate, however my partner did have to clean me up and carry me to the bathroom after I had my 1st child. I felt no shame in that, but a regular number two in normal circumstances is a moment to be alone.

That's totally different 😊

We dont see it as a spectator sport but yes sometimes we have been in the bathroom when the other one is having a wee or a poo. always beat a hasty retreat if its a poo but honestly some of the replies on this thread are hilarious! Its just another bodily function like coughing, eating etc. Never understood the mindset that thinks sex is ok where everything is on display including emotionally but just nipping into the bathroom to grab a hairbrush whilst the other half is having a wee is a huge no no.

SilverViking · 20/12/2022 11:42

Doesn't bother us at all. No difference in smell or function from doing a wee - it is just letting the waste go 😊
We had one bathroom and also had 4 children sharing during their early teens, before 2nd toilet / shower was built.

Although from this thread... it looks like some people obviously produce a lot smellier dumps than others 😝

No difference in smell from a wee.. I've heard it all now 😂

AllOfThemWitches · 20/12/2022 18:39

No way, maybe a wee if absolutely desperate but even that isn't ideal.

pocketvenuss · 20/12/2022 19:22

Yes we do. We also lie in the bath together chatting and walk around in varying states of undress. We are completely relaxed around each other and have a healthy intimate life.

Yes this is how I'd describe it our relationship too.

Exactly. Some of these replies are so wild to me - never seen their partner have a wee? Never seen them burp? DH and I are as comfortable in each other's presence as we would be alone and I like that. Neither of us goes out of the way to watch each other use the toilet but we've lived in small houses and travelled a lot together and sometimes it happens and I didn't think it was notable until I read threads like this.

I lie in the bath with my partner, walk around naked at any time of the day.

Still don't want to watch him wipe his arse.

RumHam · 21/12/2022 01:06

Both openly pee, poop and fart around each other. The only thing I don't want to see hubby do is puke. I can't stomach the sight, smell or sound of puking. Urgh, even just thinking about it makes me feel ill!

CallieQ · 21/12/2022 01:30

No way why on earth would anyone want to do this
