Why are women 35+ disliked so much?

Hi this is not an inflammatory question. i want some perspective. Mean no offence to anyone.

society deems women over 35 as unattractive, not fertile, unwanted women, women who get no male interest etc and men most likely just like younger women cos they are hardwired for it and wont see you or want you the same way. Theres no chance for you if 35+ etc. For men it's not a problem if they 35+

How do women over 35 accept this? Is it just a fad that society promotes or is it real?

35 is no age! We are just coming into our prime then! FFS women in their 40s /50s are not "ignored" in RL OLD is a shallow place ,most women meet someone outside of this cesspit .My own DD came off and felt happier for it!

I'm not sure that's fair to say women are not ignored when women on here are staying that they have or they feel as if they are. This post very much sounds like a 'pull yourself together' mentality which may not be helpful.

Thank you. That means a lot to have my feelings validated. I have never experienced that and the fury that followed.

I'm sorry you have had this.

l'll never forget a cabbie helping me unload some things from the boot to take into my first flat I bought, he acted like "aw, you must be so excited".

after I tipped him, he said to me "just you wait ..in five years, you'll be married with kids and miserable like everyone else".

I don't think anyone is rating themselves on how attractive they are to men. It's all within the context of what was asked and how it was asked and people are replying within that context so to speak.

MadMadMadamMim · 13/08/2022 13:03

If you are worried or influenced by what you see on Youtube or Social media then I am sorry for you. Why on earth would the vacuous opinions of a small section of society bother you?

I am considerably over 35 and am fully aware of my worth. I have considerable professional respect from both men and women in my field, a husband and family who love me and friends who appreciate me.

The fact that strangers might dismiss me as not being 'attractive' as an older woman would never cross my mind or bother me in the slightest. It's not relevant to my life in any way.

Icecreamandapplepie · 13/08/2022 13:10

I think many of those under 30 look at those over 40 and think we all want to be young again, like them etc.

When you actually get older, you realise its actually pretty great to move into a different phase and couldn't give two hoots what younger people are doing or what they think of us!

Being older, past it etc is a bit of a media falsehood created by certain sections of the media.

I'm far happier at 43 than I was at 25.

I would hate to go back to having to worry about all the crap I did back then.

Musttryharder2021 · 13/08/2022 10:42

Maybe they can't do better within their own age range?

Nope.

My friend who said that has dated all ages of women but his relationships have only been with older women. Some of them have had no money.

Likewise the other guys I know and have known who have female partners 10+ years older have also dated a variety of ages but the person they have been attracted to long term is just older than them.

I remember asking another guy who fancied a woman we both knew who was 10 years older than himself about why he preferred dating older women to ones younger than himself. He basically said they are more confident, know what they want so are easier to deal with, and don't talk shit.

dottiedodah · 13/08/2022 13:10

special sauce .This is just vile misogeny at play . You have all the cards ,smartly dressed and in a well paid job .You are a direct threat to some workmen getting hot and dirty on a building site .Please ignore these assholes they are beneath contempt! Also please report them to the site management ,pretty sure this kind of thing is not well received by their boss!

BigFatLiar · 13/08/2022 13:12

You get quite a few women posting saying they're married/in a relationship with a younger man. I don't think it's a case of women over 35+ being disliked but people in general becoming less wanted as they age, gets worse. When jobs were harder to find it was shit trying to get a decent job as you got older.

I suspect that a lot of younger men on OLD are looking for someone younger to start a family. 35+ is often seen as ok for women starting a family these days but a lot of people still see it as a bit late.

Icecreamandapplepie · 13/08/2022 13:17

This is potentially the dumbest question I've ever seen asked on here?

All women over 35?

Disliked so much?

Come again?

I must've missed that memo?

Any other demographics disliked op?

Icecreamandapplepie · 13/08/2022 13:18

Far too many question marks there...

GiselleRose · 13/08/2022 13:19

This is not my experience at all. I’m 50. Separated a few years ago, had no trouble finding a lovely new boyfriend (luck and judgement. Met him through a mutual friend).

dottiedodah · 13/08/2022 13:28

SpecialSauce. Sorry I didnt mean to downplay anyones experiences, and certainly dont want anyone to "pull themselves together! I was just surprised is all . I am not on OLD but DD(much younger than me!) felt she was happier off it .Just surprised that ladies of 35 plus (which seems fairly young to me) have these sort of old fashioned attitudes to deal with!

I wouldn't say disliked

More on a practical level less desirable for men in their age range

For any man wanting a family a woman 35+ isn't the ideal candidate for dating considering the implications around fertility

Many people want children, therefore this is an issue.

This is key.

My current partner is 38. She certainly didn’t want for lack of attention on OLD before she met me. Quite the opposite.

She doesn’t, however, want more kids and openly stated as such.

TossACoinToYerWitcher · 13/08/2022 13:57

Just to add, as a bloke, I noticed the moment I crossed the 45+ line on OLD, interest from late thirties/early forties women plummeted. Suspect this was for similar reasons: women wanting someone to have kids with aren’t generally interested in a guy 45+ (deemed too old) or with kids of his own already. Women who are 32 tend to be more willing to stretch to 42, however.

MistySkiesAreGone · 13/08/2022 13:57

I'm 42 and the vast majority of men on dating apps who have liked me are late 20s and above. There are a lot of guys who find older women attractive. For longer term relationship wise who knows but I'm enjoying having fun.

I had my colours done professionally when I felt I was becoming invisible, lost some weight and got a tan. I look a good version of myself and get compliments. I'm nothing special.

MovinOnUp · 13/08/2022 14:11

I don't see this and it's not what I have experienced.
I did online dating at 36, Plenty of interest and a short relationship (lived too far apart for it to ever really work)
Didn't get this impression when single on nights out either.

MovinOnUp · 13/08/2022 14:29

Agree with PP that it's more than likely with men who are looking to start a family.

Untill your husband leaves you for someone younger etc

Late 20s probably just for sex as they see older women as desperate and the younger ones will be more picky

@Musttryharder2021 What's your angle on this thread?

I hope Peter doesn’t get banned because it’s interesting to get an example of what the OP was talking about. At least Peter is being honest. But thankfully not every man is Peter and not every woman would touch him with a barge pole.

Its just unfortunate that younger women have to hear the way Peter and his type talk about them and some (especially those with low self esteem or those who have Peters as their brother or father) will genuinely think that their tight vaginas are literally the only thing they are good for.
