Would you go out with a short man?

Not the most PC question, but....

Would you go out with a relatively short man eg I'm just under 5'6" and he's the same.

I've never gone out with a man the same height as me before, the prospect feels a bit odd. He's also v lightly built, which seems to emphasise it.

I've read that men routi eyes lie anoit height on dating sites etc due to mNy women's feelings about this/preferences etc.

How do you feel about it?

Sorry, that should read "routinely lie about height"

Im 5ft 8. Short lightly built men just made me feel like a giantess. So no l wouldn’t, I’d feel really uncomfortable.

My partner is a woman and shorter than me. It is not an issue. She's a wonderful human being and we are very happy.

Yes. I'm only 5'2" so a bit wee myself. I've dated short to tall. It didn't really matter. DP is about 5'6" I think.

I'm 5'2 and DH is 5'6. He is short but I'm shorter! But he is broad and not slight.

Yes of course

I was incredibly heightist until I met my DP who is the same as me (5’7”)
what’s made the difference is that he doesn’t care, is very solid and stronger heavier than me and has swagger!!! Can’t get enough of him! Prior to this I was always “second row or forwards.”

I'm 6'1. My husband is 5'9". I'm not sure I'd be comfortable with anyone shorter though. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I'm nearly 5 ft 8 and do feel a bit large around shorter men. If the man is very light I'd feel huge (I'm not fat but I'm just used to men being bigger and taller than me). I would date someone the same height as me - so in your case I'd for it if you really like him.

Bit lost, is this a rugby reference?

Yes if they had confidence and charm. I have a major crush on Peter Dinklage.

I don't mind men the same height as me 5'8, as long as they are honest about it In the first place, if they lie about height, it puts me off.
I couldn't date someone shorter.

I don't think I would go out with someone considerably shorter than me. Although it does make me worry for DS who is an adult but only 5 foot 2.

That's the thing; I have fancied a few men, around my height (possibly even bit shorter) though not ended up going out with for various reasons bit they relatively solidly built.
Maybe it's the combo of height & build.

(Also those guys had what I'd consider very handsome faces, maybe that swung it too).

I'm 5"2 so never dated a man shorter than me, but did find it strange dating a man 5"6. My DH is 6"2 and this feels like the right height.

Right height for me that should say.

If I was single then, yes, I would.

I'm 5'2" and have dated guys shorter than me, no problem !

Libertaire · 06/05/2022 22:14

Being 5’11, I would be excluding the vast majority of the male population by rejecting anyone shorter than me, so in my single days I did go out with plenty. I honestly never had a problem with it, as long as he didn’t. Any man who did have a problem with my height was an insecure dickhead, and that was his problem not mine.

You can’t tell if there is chemistry till you kiss. Proper snog. I was weak at the knees when my chap kissed me. He put his hand in the small of my back and sort of pulled me in. Fwarrrrrr.

It’s not just the height though, do you find him attractive? Do you want to jump his bones?
