Why do guys send dick pics?!

On OLD... Just why?! I'm so not interested in seeing a photo of your penis!!

I'm not a prude, and I'm early 30s, so very much of the "dating app generation".

Surely men know this by now? It's been going on for years and I don't know any of my girl friends who have said "you know what, I love receiving a dick pic"

Or are me and my friends in the minority?

I think some of them get a thrill from it. They've intruded on you, forced an intimacy on you that you wouldn't have agreed to had you had the choice, and it turns them on. Gross.

So in the middle of my GP waiting area I was sat waiting for my turn a few years ago when a guy I was chatting with, met him on only dating, sent me a video via WhatsApp and thankfully there were not many waiting because nearly dropped my phone when I got a video through of his whole thing, like why? Only just been speaking for a few days and things were going well, or so I thought, just why do men do this? Not even related to any of the topics we were covering, and a doc pic or video is intrusive

They are basically sex offenders in training. Sending a woman a picture of your cock is akin to flashing her. Men really don't like it when you point out that they are sex offenders.

Yes, this. The first few days are lovely, chatty, respectful, and then bang! I get sent a photo of their erect penis. Yuck.

I am male and I think pretty much this. There are times when I despair for all men - although I hope that the dick pic squad are a small subset, even on OLD. I assume if you send one you send loads to different women in the hope of getting a hookup/causing distress/using it as a way to get aroused/whatever the fucking purpose is.

I've never received one either. But then I don't take conversations off of the app until we are due to be meeting up and if they were to send dick picks on tinder ect...they would be blocked.

Also if anyone was is taking the convo sexual then I end it right there before dick pics.

How many conversation topics are there were an unsolicited* photo of genitalia would be an appropriate contribution?

Like maybe if you had told them you were an amateur anatomy enthusiast, possibly. Or going through medical school and planning to specialise in genito-urinary medicine. But even then it's a bit of a reach.

(*so obviously excluding any conversations where you said you would love to receive such a photo)

I think there is a type that do it and they definitely aren't the type that respect women or know what women want.

Instantly blocking them is the way to go.

The idea of responding with "ah, I see you're a sex offender" followed by blocking before they have a chance to voice their indignation does hold some appeal.

I would treat them as a sex offender. That's all they are. Sex pests. They can't wave their "manhoods" around in public but they can in OLD.
There should be a system where their request or pic can be immediately reported to authority.
If it was a public park or street it's a phone call to the cops., so why is OLD different?
