Found condom wrapper in laundry basket

Just this. I have the contraceptive injection so haven't seen a condom in 17 years.

Have 12 yr old DD & 15yr old DS. Definitely not DS, pretty convinced not DD. We send laundry to a cleaning service. I'm thinking it's from that. DH doesn't really go out, hard to believe it's anything to do with him. Next steps if any?

OP posts:

My bet is the 15 year old DS. Probably just playing around with one in his room.
We got given them at school around that age.

whysoserious123 · 21/12/2021 00:41

I agree with the above poster

And not to be rude but there is a term called a 'posh w*'

Apparently boys use a condom while pleasuring themselves so there is. No mess that goes everywhere

Sorry if that's rude but just explaining

ElizabethG81 · 21/12/2021 00:48

It'll be your DS.

I'm a bit Confused that you say it's "definitely not" him but are only "pretty convinced" it's not your 12 year old DD. He's a 15 year old boy, it's him.

Aquamarine1029 · 21/12/2021 00:52

Ask your husband and show him the wrapper. His reaction should help narrow it down.

givethatbabyaname · 21/12/2021 00:54

Why not DS?

Why maybe a 12yo?

High laundry basket, if you send your laundry out? Was it amongst outgoing clothes or incoming clothes?

PoshPyjamas · 21/12/2021 01:01

Posh wank is a myth.

AllyBama · 21/12/2021 01:15

Why on earth would a condom wrapper come back with your clean washing from the laundry service?

The far far more plausible explanation is your teenage DS and then well, only you and your gut can say if your DH is a suspect. The fact your said it’s hard to believe if it was anything to do with him… but didn’t immediately rule him out is quite telling. And you’ve also posted on mumsnet so… is there something on your mind?

MrsTerryPratchett · 21/12/2021 01:17

This is very disturbing.

whysoserious123 · 21/12/2021 01:24

@PoshPyjamas

Posh wank is a myth.
Wish is was but growing up with 3 brothers and their loud mouth friends I can confirm it is not a myth . 😂
Cascais · 21/12/2021 01:32

Ask him?

Bloodyfreezingtoes · 21/12/2021 09:20

Can I ask why not the 15 year old? If he has serious disabilities for instance, that would make sense, otherwise he sounds the most obvious culprit, even if it's through curiosity/ messing about rather than sexual activity. 12 year old, could be. I remember condoms doing the rounds at school in year 8.

I would speak to your husband first. I know it's snooping but I might be tempted to have a quick look in his gym bag/ car/ wardrobe first. If he swears it's not him and you're convinced then ask the kids individually and privately. Don't make it a huge shaming thing, better that they're either a) aware of condoms and use them when the time comes or b) if there's anything concerning happening that they tell you.

Was it in a basket of laundry coming from the cleaners? If not, surely it would have been noticed before the item got put in for washing again?

MrsElijahMikaelson1 · 21/12/2021 09:24
Confused
Sparklfairy · 21/12/2021 09:26

@whysoserious123 I would say its a myth in adult men! Fair enough teens thinking they're simulating real sex but the amount of fuss men make about wearing condoms IRL i highly doubt they use them for wanking.

OGenkiDesuKa · 21/12/2021 09:28

Of course a posh wank isn’t a myth. Some men do it to avoid clean up!

Why would it maybe be your 12 year old and not your 15 year old?!

girlmom21 · 21/12/2021 09:29

@PoshPyjamas

Posh wank is a myth.
For adult men, yes. For teenage boys, probably not.
AutumnWinterSpring · 21/12/2021 09:34

You have a 15 year old boy in your house. Safe assumption it’s him even if it’s just playing around.

Maybe there’s more to the story?

Jenhen89 · 21/12/2021 09:35

You’re more inclined to think that a 12 year old girl might have used a condom than your 15 year old pubescent son who might be exploring masturbation?

Bellafrenum · 21/12/2021 09:40

If you aren't 100% sure that your 12 year old little girl has no need for condoms then your first port of call is some serious safeguarding of your young child.

liveforsummer · 21/12/2021 09:41

This?!
NynaeveSedai · 21/12/2021 09:46

I asked my partner and he said posh wank sounds dry and horrible and like a waste of a condom
Sorry OP it's probably the obvious - either your husband or your son has used it. Your husband is highly unlikely to have used it alone.

Luredbyapomegranate · 21/12/2021 09:49

Almost certainly this. Practising putting it on etc
CeeceeBloomingdale · 21/12/2021 09:52

Surely the 15yo in the most likely candidate! Maybe he was practising putting them on, it's a good life skill to learn!

OverByYer · 21/12/2021 09:52

Why definitely not your 15yr old DS? That would be my first thought

GutsInMay · 21/12/2021 09:53

A wrapper could be left inside the drum from a previous clients wash

15 and 12 year olds could be looking at ones given freely at school or circulating amongst friends

15 yo boys do have sex, whether we like it or not.

Check bins, floors and pockets for the strip torn off the top (if it has been), sticky / crusty tissues.

Bloodyfreezingtoes · 21/12/2021 09:54

Sorry, just to clarify, I don't think your 12 year old is an equal possibility to son (unless theres a reason it wouldn't be him) and husband, just that it's not impossible
