Just for a laugh, I thought I'd start a thread about the bad and the ugly of OLD...

Here's mine:

  1. When men have a picture of a then holding a child on their profile, and then say 'oh, by the way, it's not mine, I promise.' Why include it if it's someone else's?
  1. When men say 'if you want to know anything, just ask.' I'm sorry, ask what? You haven't given me anything to ask about!
  1. When men just write their social media details on their profile with the words 'add me' and nothing else. No thank you. I'm not a love island contestant.

Looking forward to hearing everyone else's Smile

@greasyshoes and 'you women' charming. I take it you're a guy?

Captions on the photos that are stating the bleeding obvious. As in photo 1 is labelled "my boat", photo 2 is labelled "me". No shit!

Photos wearing hi vis work gear. Maybe that's just an Australian thing.

Men who are 50 and set their upper age limit for women as 45 or younger.

Men who get shitty when you say 'thanks but I'm not interested', accusing you of not giving them a chance.

TheSpecialist · 03/02/2022 06:15

@greasyshoes

Sorry, but do any of you women realise that almost every single thing mentioned in this thread is equally applicable to women?

Just one example... a few people have mentioned they hate pouting. Have you any idea how many women upload pouting photos of themselves?

I think we need a thread for “critically review my dating profile” I’d be up for it.
RedFlagsAllOver · 03/02/2022 06:35

When they dm you a stupid question if you match. Like red sauce or brown and why? What?
When they post a picture with 2 other men, one is hot, bead etc and main focus of the picture and the plain looking one on the end, scroll to next picture and its just the plain looking guy. Be honest.
When they're stood with a woman in the picture dressed up at a wedding or something. Who's thar?

TheSpecialist · 03/02/2022 06:44

Women are so paranoid about seeing other women in photos.

Message 2 “who’s the woman next to you?”

A: red flag #1 B: is that all you care about already c: it’s my sister/mum/friend and I though I looked good.

greasyshoes · 03/02/2022 23:45

this thread was started as a bit of light relief.

If I started a thread, somewhere, about all the stuff I dislike about women's online dating profiles, I would be labelled as a misogynist or an incel.

And yet, I didn't even use similar hateful terms. All I did was call out the fact that almost all of these are equally applicable to women.

@greasyshoes no shit Sherlock! I hate people who come on and state the obvious.

I think this thread is fab. (I may be biased, since I created it) Some guys have actually joined and have raised no objections.

@greasyshoes and also if you look around MN as a while, there are loads of threads about things that people dislike.

And if women beat and raped men at the rates men do women there would be public outrage If women were holding the huge majority of powerful positions in the worlds top companies men would be beside themselves If there was an entire porn industry committed to degrading men for womens pleasure I cant even imagine how men would be losing their minds If men had babies and were expected to sacrifice their careers and or do double shift with the bulk of the unpaid work there would be rioting men in the streets Grin What’s your point - men have the privelidge , why are you complaining

Great thread !

NotVeryChattySchoolMum · 04/02/2022 00:56

This is funny.

Just curious if you have met someone who was really cringe in their online profile but a gem in real life? Hard to believe though...

Hawkins001 · 04/02/2022 00:56

One person , seemed to go along with what we were discussing that was important factors for a relationship, yet as time went on, they turned out to be pretty much anti everything they originally said. It's like why the mask.

Anothergreatday · 04/02/2022 00:57

@greasyshoes there’s a million and one places on the internet where men complain about women or treat women like worthless objects .
It’s a bit rich having a go at a thread where women are talking about their experiences with men OLD

Great thread!

My personal one is middle-aged (because that's my dating range) man standing next to a very very dolled up young woman - young enough to be his daughter - so I assume that's who they are.

I rarely (read that as never!) see the above type of man with a very very well groomed young man young enough to be his son. (Of course I see loads with younger children of either sex.)

I have never messaged any of these middle-ages men as I perceive them to be very low value men, and the touting out their daughters makes me sick up.

greasyshoes · 04/02/2022 19:03

That's very true, but not in the way you think.

OnwardsEverStridingOnwards · 04/02/2022 19:20

@greasyshoes no, it's not true 'in the way she thinks.' It's 100% true!

Why don't you just get off the thread if you don't like it? Hmm
