Just for a laugh, I thought I'd start a thread about the bad and the ugly of OLD...

Here's mine:

  1. When men have a picture of a then holding a child on their profile, and then say 'oh, by the way, it's not mine, I promise.' Why include it if it's someone else's?
  1. When men say 'if you want to know anything, just ask.' I'm sorry, ask what? You haven't given me anything to ask about!
  1. When men just write their social media details on their profile with the words 'add me' and nothing else. No thank you. I'm not a love island contestant.

Looking forward to hearing everyone else's Smile

When they assume you're lying during the initial messaging (presumably because they've had bad experiences before) and try to catch you out and then you have to explain and it feels like 'protest too much'.

@stopblowingyournose totally with you on that one ! I had no idea so many English men were into skiing too, they're ALL up mountains....weird !

FabulousMrFifty · 13/12/2021 11:30

Women who write “Any Questions just ask” as a bio.

I feel like asking “ tell me about yourself and what you are looking for in a relationship and prospective partner”, then you use that as your bio.

Ceriane · 20/01/2022 21:39

OMG I have just come across one that listed masturbation as one of his hobbies along with a list of other things such as visiting museums! And stated his hobbies “in no particular order l” he also listed heterosexual as one of his requirements! Are these people for real.

Does he do both at the same time though? I hope he isn't from Ipswich and goes to the Thomas the Tank museum and takes it too literally.

  • Gym photos / gym stated as a hobby
  • looking for someone beautiful / elegant (surely you can make this judgment from my profile but also, so shallow!)
  • negativity
  • "no timewasters" - what does this mean!? Once I swipe you I have to meet you?!
MrsBerthaRochester · 02/02/2022 08:54

Everything men write in their bio is simply code for "looking for a low effort shag, will ghost you once I got it and then message you a year later as if nothing happened in the hope of getting another shag"

Lol!
Crumbs22 · 02/02/2022 09:27

My no 1. is most definitely photos of themselves that's from at least 10+ years ago. WTAF??? Am I supposed to think oooh you were hot/handsome in 2010 - I must chat to you now!! I know men do typically look better when they age (to me anyway) but this is just too much! Don't get me started on their profile blurb.

This is the biggest truth there ever was!

You might as well not bother with anything they write or say, because 99% of it is a lie to get a shag.

If women go into OLD knowing everything is a lie, we'd be much better off.
No more making excuses for them why they did or didn't do something.

Jesseyb85 · 02/02/2022 14:18

I have when they pretend to be looking for a serious relationship only to find out they are hunting for sex prey. Why not just say you want sex?

Also, it's exhausting repeating the same intro over and over again. I quit!

Jesseyb85 · 02/02/2022 14:22

yes, using old photos to confuse their ancestors Grin

Interesting. Would you respect a man/woman more if they just said they wanted sex, if that's what you 'just' wanted too? Or would you liked it dressed up a little?

No judgement just musing on it.

DH and I met on Tinder, met up for first date whilst I was coincidentally at a training course in his city, sleep together first date after a great night out. Together 7 years now - if both he or I had put that we were after a shag on our Tinder I doubt either of us would have picked the other, but shag we most certainly ending up doing. So it's a weird one.

Snoozeee · 02/02/2022 14:34

When all their pictures are group pics and you're supposed to guess which one they are.

@Jesseyb85 I agree with that. It's just so unnecessary. 😒

The amount of men who take photos of themselves in the mirrors of public toilets, and you can see all the urinals in the background, in one photo he seemed oblivious to the fact that a man was behind him having a wee! What are these people thinking!!!

greasyshoes · 02/02/2022 19:58

Sorry, but do any of you women realise that almost every single thing mentioned in this thread is equally applicable to women?

Just one example... a few people have mentioned they hate pouting. Have you any idea how many women upload pouting photos of themselves?
