Oh my god.. I can't stop thinking about the man who smiled at me twice and said hello whilst on his mower!

Was walking my usual dog walk and he was mowing the large piece of grass at the park. We noticed each other a 100 yards away. The first thing I noticed was his big thick beard... I absolutely love beards.. it's really my thing! He drove towards me and we smiled at each other, and then again as he rode past. We said 'hiya'. He had the biggest smile.

And now I can't stop thinking about it... ARRRGGGHHH! 😂

I hope you get to meet him again

PurpleSunrise · 24/06/2021 23:11

This really made me smile Grin please do engineer another hello!

Stichintime · 24/06/2021 23:12

How exciting. Was he actually riding the mower?

menopausemess · 24/06/2021 23:13

Love at first sight.

nolovelost · 24/06/2021 23:14

Glad I made you smile! I'll probably never see him again and he'll be married. 😭

Sorry just saw he was not just riding the mower, but driving it. Did he look over his shoulder to say hello, or did he turn to the side? Did his beard look in good nick?

nolovelost · 24/06/2021 23:16

Yes was riding a monster mower! I've had lots of failed attempts at dating - no connection but when I saw him....! It was like it was meant to be, ha ha ha!

Go back same time tomorrow and try and see him.
Then report back to us.

nolovelost · 24/06/2021 23:22

One of those big mowers that you sit on. I was walking down the road and the grass runs along the side of me. He drove parallel to me and was about a metre or two away from me. His beard was just there, didn't really notice the condition but it was long and thick - just how I like it... whoops just realised what I've said there! 😂 Just wish I'd started a conversation with him now!

He won't be there tomorrow if he's just cut it!
I'm too wired to sleep now..

OP posts:
nolovelost · 24/06/2021 23:27

Probably just a friendly person 🙄

YesIDoLoveCrisps · 24/06/2021 23:31

He will be there doing something else, like watering the garden or whatever, if he’s hoping you will be there again at the same time again. Then you will know he’s interested so ask him out. Worse that can happen is he would say no. It’s with a shot.

nolovelost · 24/06/2021 23:35

Possibly! It's more like a field with a playground. Not sure what else he would do. But I'll do the same route again tomorrow. I'll just do it every day from now! Come on grass.... Grow!

OP posts:
Pixysmoke · 24/06/2021 23:36

How often do you think the grass gets cut? Every week? I wonder if they always do it on the same day. Do you think he works for the council?

nolovelost · 24/06/2021 23:38

Probably every week or two? Probably the council yes. And yes I've already thought about that.....but I would look like a freak!

OP posts:
Spandrel · 24/06/2021 23:39

You’ll just have to monitor that patch of grass’s growth carefully. Possibly call the local council/Parish Council to complain it’s getting shaggy? Grin

SecretKeeper1 · 24/06/2021 23:41

Definitely be there at the same time tomorrow!

nolovelost · 24/06/2021 23:41

Haha superb idea. But then they'll be getting sick of me as I've ready complained about something else there twice!

Shameless placemarking !
What a treat 😁😁

LivNicely · 25/06/2021 00:11

The park near my house is cut the same time and day fortnightly during summer. So definitely go back! He may be laying awake right now kicking himself at the missed connection!

Dabforpearl · 25/06/2021 00:18

Serendipity

Whywonttheyletmeusemyusername · 25/06/2021 01:28

Also shamelessly placemarking....unless its my DP who also rides a tractor and has a bushy beard GrinGrin

Susannahmoody · 25/06/2021 01:57

So he's not cutting his own lawn? It's not his own mower??

Tossblanket · 25/06/2021 02:03

Go and throw a few bags of fertiliser over the grass.

Might get him back sooner 🙂
