Oh my god.. I can't stop thinking about the man who smiled at me twice and said hello whilst on his mower!

Was walking my usual dog walk and he was mowing the large piece of grass at the park. We noticed each other a 100 yards away. The first thing I noticed was his big thick beard... I absolutely love beards.. it's really my thing! He drove towards me and we smiled at each other, and then again as he rode past. We said 'hiya'. He had the biggest smile.

And now I can't stop thinking about it... ARRRGGGHHH! 😂

Ask him if he does residential mowing?

This is so much nicer then the lady that posted about a man at the park chasing her and her child with a mower. Your mower man sounds much much nicer :)

1forAll74 · 25/06/2021 02:51

Did he have shorts on, and lovely tanned legs. unless you only noticed his lovely beard and smile, and didn't get further down.

Febo24 · 25/06/2021 06:36

Go to the next park along?

Cattitudes · 25/06/2021 06:52

Find another park where the grass is long and ring up to ask when it will be cut.

Cheermonger · 25/06/2021 06:55

Does your council nursery have a shop where they sell excess plants, if do go there about 3.30 and he might be there before he knocks off. He CJ oils carry your fertiliser to the car 🤣

Cheermonger · 25/06/2021 06:56

CJ oils wtaf - could

nolovelost · 25/06/2021 07:51

Great ideas! I'll have a mooch at the next park, there's one very close! I was thinking of asking him if he could do mine, hee hee. I didn't get to see his legs, think they were probably hidden.

Eeeeek!

Ask him if he does a home service and you need your bush trimmed as its got out of control . You could also ask him if he has a dog and if he would like to go dogging 😂

MangosteenSoda · 25/06/2021 08:34

Scope out every grassy public area within your ward.

Monitor and plot on a map.

SkiingIsHeaven · 25/06/2021 08:56

Take him a very cold Diet Coke and he might take his top off if the adverts are anything to go by.

Helloandhelloagain · 25/06/2021 09:50

Go for lots of walks ..... nearby

nolovelost · 25/06/2021 13:20

I like the Coke idea! He might think I'm implying that he's overweight with the Diet bit though?! Ha ha.

Think I'm gonna go with 'do you want to do mine?' He'll struggle to even turn on my grass!!

He'll be permanently poor and smelly if he mows lawns for a living. You're welcome! Wink

nolovelost · 25/06/2021 13:46

Why permanently poor? If he works for the council, that's good money! Even if he doesn't, you can get away with charging loads for gardening. Nothing wrong with mowing lawns if that's what you want to do. Confused I can imagine it's quite a tough going/time limiting job.

OP posts:
Susannahmoody · 25/06/2021 16:00

Who cares if he's poor? He has a beard, is smiley and is a gardener

We luffs him

stuntfarter · 25/06/2021 16:19

If it is council land he was mowing it's usually contracted out , look at the parks and amenities if you wanted to see who the contractors are , it also might say how often the grass gets cut ?

stuntfarter · 25/06/2021 16:20

Sorry I meant look at the online minutes covering parks amenities and particularly grass cutting frequency and contractor

EllieStartingOver · 25/06/2021 16:23

It is likely a local firm that the council has a contract with, ring your council and ask who does it, then stalk their Facebook page for beard man.

I have not been this excited for ages

nolovelost · 25/06/2021 18:26

I can't believe you're encouraging me to look at council minutes and to call the council and ask who the contractors are?!!! What on earth would I say was the reason? (by the way I have tried looking at the minutes and I don't understand it all!!) Grin

@stuntfarter look at the parks and amenities if I want to see who the contractors are? Erm where would I look for that?

Buttonupbitches · 25/06/2021 18:31

If you’re in Wales I have a mate who is a self employed gardener who has a beard that you describe. He’s married tho sorry 😞

nolovelost · 25/06/2021 18:37

Ah no @Buttonupbitches I'm not in Wales!

OP posts:
EllieStartingOver · 25/06/2021 20:46

Are you in a town or a city? There can’t be that many gardening companies in your area!

I am far too invested in this.

nolovelost · 25/06/2021 20:52

@EllieStartingOver in a town. I don't know where to start! I do get a bit over invested myself, so I've been telling myself to just get real and calm down!

I love posts like this. Even if you never see him again you'll always remember the beautiful man on the mower. My friend once told me about the most beautiful man she had ever seen smiled at her as she walked out of her front door, but alas she never saw him again. It's happened to me too.
