I've just been dumped by text

I've just been dumped. By text. After 4 years. I can't get my head round it.

NameChangeAgainForThis · 15/05/2021 19:04

Put all of his stuff outside your front door, text him to tell him and then block his number. Lock your doors from the inside so he can't get in with a key.

If his bike gets stolen so be it. He is a complete and utter arse and you and your DS deserve so much more.

He has shown you who he really is, believe him.

osbertthesyrianhamster · 15/05/2021 19:07

His stuff, personally, if you know where his family lives I'd drive it over, tell them he dumped you by text and ditch it. Or tell him to come and get it so I can block and move on with my life. Twat.

fedup078 · 15/05/2021 19:08

I totally second putting everything of his outside and letting him know where he can collect it
You don't need any reminders of him in your house
What an absolute twat

osbertthesyrianhamster · 15/05/2021 19:14

Look, he doesn't get to use your home as storage. Just tell him, 'You need to come get all your shit out of my house tonight because I'm not keeping it for whenever you decide to shit on me again. You tell me when you're coming by to get it or send someone so I can put it outside for them to collect because I don't want to see you, you cowardly piece of shit.'

Mine was a real dick about trying to force me to leave the UK, that pissed me off.

Oh and didn't he leave his yoghurt top tokens too?? What a prince he was!
navys · 15/05/2021 19:57

Thank you everyone Thanks

It's safe to say I'm feeling bloody awful this evening! I don't know whether I feel better or worse knowing that I'm not the only one who's been treated like this (or left with a whole heap of their belongings).

OP posts:
Amdone123 · 15/05/2021 20:55

Of course you feel awful, you were with him a long time.
Take it 1 hour at a time. Look after yourself by eating properly ( plus treats !), and making sure you're hydrated.
It will get better in time and one day, you'll meet someone a thousand times better ; someone who deserves you.

mamamalt · 15/05/2021 21:01

I would sell the fucking bike. Fuck him. If anyone can do that to someone they're supposed to love, and a child they have been around for YEARS, they don't deserve their bike back... or anything else for that matter.

SunnySpills · 15/05/2021 21:05

Give yourself something to look forwards to - change your bedroom round or get new cushions, curtains, bedding etc. New nail varnish,
shoes, you get the idea - whatever gives you a lift, op.

happinessischocolate · 15/05/2021 23:47

Hope you're okay OP it's does get easier and then when you think it is, it will hit you again like a brick wall, accept this is just the emotional fall out of being dumped by a twat and know that it will then get better again. There will be days of 2 steps forward 1 step back but you will move forward and it will get better. Be kind to yourself.

I may be a lone voice in this and I do value others input but I would tell your dc that you have decided to go your separate ways. He's not a baby and will know you are upset, please let him know why. Kids imagine the worst if not told the truth.

osbertthesyrianhamster · 15/05/2021 23:57

His shit needs to go.

Taikoo · 16/05/2021 02:57

I would sell the bike too.
if he ever tries to ask about the bike, he wouldn't be able to because I'd have blocked him.
If he came round looking for the bike, I wouldn't let him in and I'd claim no knowledge of the bike.
I'd definitely sell the bike though.
Might as well make some money out of this whole sorry story.

Amdone123 · 16/05/2021 07:25

@happinessischocolate yeah, that's a great point regarding the little one. Children are quite resilient anyway and tend to accept these things. It's also a life lesson and could lead to some good discussions ( mainly about how we treat people, in this case, yer know, honesty respect, being kind).

daisypond · 16/05/2021 07:45

Do not contact him, even about his stuff. He should have thought about that.

navys · 16/05/2021 09:16

I've not responded. I've been trying to keep myself busy, I saw a friend yesterday and am taking my son out today. I've bagged up his stuff and put it in my shed so it's out of sight. Feeling awful this morning though, I've not slept properly in days and my head is pounding constantly.

OP posts:
Amdone123 · 16/05/2021 09:37

@navys, well done on keeping yourself busy, and bagging his stuff up. It can't have been easy. You're a very strong individual.
It will get better.

litterbird · 16/05/2021 09:49

@navys....well done for getting his stuff bagged up. What you are feeling is perfectly normal. There is no quick fix for this but to wade through this horrible feeling. I must keep stressing that no contact is absolutely vital. He will be in touch to get his stuff so as others have recommended if you can dump it on a family members or friends doorstep it really is the best.

CandyLeBonBon · 16/05/2021 09:59

I'm so sorry op. Thanks

PinkiOcelot · 16/05/2021 10:32

What an absolute cowardly prick!!

Have you taken a couple of Paracetamol for your head? Try to have something to eat and make sure you’re drinking. Take care of yourself. This arse hole certainly isn’t worth you making yourself ill over (told to me by MIL when H left).

WaterBottle123 · 16/05/2021 10:34

Brilliant effort on his stuff OP, well done!

Amdone123 · 16/05/2021 11:07

@PinkiOcelot, let's hear it for that mil Star

Taikoo · 16/05/2021 12:07

Rooting for you OP.
As i said before, please never respond to him.

You’re doing so well Op
All the right things. Huge respect

It will be hard but every day gets you closer to a happier future. You know who and what he is now and that you are worth so much more
