I need a quick scan of opinions here as I'm feeling so embarrassed!!!

Been chatting to a guy for a few months now met for a drink, went well, chatty texts continued. Tonight we were chatting about sex and kind of, what we like. He was describing it and used the word 'hungry'. I replied with

'Hungry. Good description... hot sweaty sex can be great!'

He replies with a shocked face emoji and "ladies pespire" ... "just saying". Then some stupid GIF with an American woman saying in a southern drawl..."I was sweating like a whore in church!".

I was mortified so sent back

"Wow. Ok, fine. I stand corrected"

He read it. Didnt respond !!!!

Now I feel like trailer trash

Using the word sweaty is not bad at all? Why would you be mortified. (Unless you're mortified that he may be shocked to hear women actually do sweat?) Hopefully he was joking and doesn't actually believe that ladies should perspire.

He expects you to be ladylike and not have any bodily functions. Fuck him off, or you’ll have a lifetime of pretending you don’t go to the toilet or shave your legs, being coy about periods etc so you don’t gross him out.

Obviously 'sweaty' isn't bad. I would read it as he was joking. You should reply with, "Excuse me! Horses sweat, men perspire and ladies glow."

Was this not just a bit of banter?! Tone can be so easy to get wrong in these exchanges (but it can also confirm you have incompatible senses of humour...not sure what I would have thought of the gif!) I think I would have assumed he was messing around rather than being serious.

Don’t worry about it, it’s easy to misinterpret things over text. He’s messaged you again and changed the subject so I’d give him the benefit of the doubt for now and crack on if you like him

I think you might have misinterpreted the original exchange - like PPs said I think it was just (lame) banter.

The real issue here the "whore in a church" thing. That is misogynistic and just generally unpleasant, and would certainly be enough to make me re-evaluate someone.
