Thread 4. Wow. Thank you for putting up with my ramblings thus far, and for all the support - I couldn't have done it without you all.

Previous thread here

I can confirm he has purchased a masher. He sent me a picture of it and asked if it was alright Confused

I'm so sorry @StuckInPollyannaMode he's not just a massive pompous self important wankbadger he is monumentally stupid, (or thinks/hopes you are) and a complete and utter bellend.
Of course he doesn't want to have my week your week cos the stupid fecker can't/won't cope.
Im raging for you!
You on the other hand are a cool calm collected fabulous parent with clearly brilliant hair and a shl

Grrrrrr bastard cockwomble

RandomMess · 12/04/2021 16:16

🙄

I guess you just say "no holidays are split and if you want to pay for activities on your time that's up to you"

Clearly he doesn't want to spend any actual time with them.

harknesswitch · 12/04/2021 16:21

No need to ruin a perfectly good Wednesday with meeting him

TheSilveryPussycat · 12/04/2021 16:25

activities being booked
By you.

Mix56 · 12/04/2021 16:35

^"Meet on Wednesday doesn't work for me.
You may not want to define fixed times to have your daughters, but I do.
I suggest X.....
Having some airy fairy non-planning to chop & change is not possible for me, & not helpful for them. You say your want 60:40. this needs to include the holidays. You need to organise any clubs, etc you feel necessary for the fixed dates you have them."^

frazzledasarock · 12/04/2021 16:37

Oh my I want to hit him with a bat.

"We don't need to define your week / my week"

Yes, yes you absolutely do need to define contact times, so everyone knows exactly where they are. And so you Polly do not end up doing all the parenting, because Geller wants to have 50:50.

He desperately wants you to organise everything and to shirk his parenting responsibilities.

Seriously Polly, get contact hammered out very clearly, I'd be inclined more towards a 70/30 with you having girls majority of the time because he is not fit to parent.

And also because your financial settlement should reflect the extra responsibility you will be taking of your children.

I wouldn't meet him, I wouldn't respond.

I hope GP appt goes well, I find when I'm stressed and run down I get sick too, I once had back to back raging thrush for months, GP thought I was diabetic, was horrific.

Take time out for yourself, rock your leather jacket putting out the bins (because you bloody can), hope your break is amazing also. I know MN hates the term making memories, but make amazing wonderful happy memories with your girls and for yourself.

Also realised why I keep saying go for the jugular, Carpe Jugulum, it's the Terry Pratchett book. but I do feel you should totally sieze the feckers throat (metaphorically in your divorce)

LivingDeadGirlUK · 12/04/2021 17:49

Honestly what planet is he on o_O

RandomMess · 12/04/2021 17:54

It's just code for "my work comes first and I expect you to accommodate what suits me"

AngryAngryAngryAngryAngryAngryAngryAngryAngryAngry

Again you just frame it in terms of what's best for the girls "The DDs need firm contact plans for summer. You can book & pay for activities for them on your weeks if you are so inclined"

DartmoorDoughnut · 12/04/2021 19:45

Yeah NO he just wants you to sort out the entire 6 weeks and he can swan in and pick them up occasionally Angry what a twat!!

I’ve put on about a stone over Easter so far, I refuse to actually step on the scales and check!

StuckInPollyannaMode · 12/04/2021 23:17

Jesus, Mary and Joseph.

By complete accident tonight DD1 shut DD2’s hand in a door. They were both rushing to come out and join us in the garden to show their friend something.

It was an accident- 3 adults there to witness it.

So

Much

Blood

Friends were brilliant and much reassuring of children took place, as well as general first aid.

I’m traumatised, nearly fainted after I’d dealt with it, there’s blood all over the kitchen and patio.

DD2 is in bed with me - we took the decision that A&E at 9.30pm wasn’t a great idea and I can always take her to minor injuries in the morning. She’s been so brave, but she’s definitely going to lose a nail if not 2.

Kitchen looks like a murder scene. Got to deal with that in the morning.

Oh, and have been prescribed metronidazole (sp?) as doc thinks it Bacterial vaginosis so that’s me off the booze for a week.

Guess it saves taking the gin to Devon.

I’m in bed with a medicinal glass of wine and holding her hand. She’s so very precious to me.

HullabalooToo · 12/04/2021 23:32

Metronidazole is the devils antibiotic!
Got any pre/pro biotics? Yoghurt might help too.

Justilou1 · 13/04/2021 00:22

Metronidazole prescribed as it also deals with vaginal fungal infections as well as bacterial ones. Good choice. You poor thing. I would save taking probiotics until afterwards as meds kill off any effect of the probiotics anyway. You can use external ointment for thrush to help symptoms or sudocreme might even be more soothing. (Ugly knickers ahoy!)
Poor little DD! Fingers are so painful!!! I think avoiding A&E on a weekend evening very smart given Covid, etc. Definitely follow up, just to cover your butt (even if you think it’s fine in the morning.) Hopefully they will X-ray them and make sure they are not broken. Obviously Geller’s going to love this one and accuse you of drunkenness ans inadequate supervision, etc. Fucker.

frazzledasarock · 13/04/2021 04:31

Oh poor DD.

I’d get it checked tomorrow to be sure everything’s OK.

I once ended up at A&E with a very young toddler DD with older DD in tow late at night and very panicked. Doctors sent us home after having waited half the night in kids A&E as you can’t really tell of toddlers that age (god I’m a shit mother sometimes), have broken bones.

I was utterly frantic as I couldn’t walk around with a DD with ‘possible’ broken arm. I managed to get a emergency private (expensive) physio appt who checked DD properly and showed me why her arm was not broken (thank god).

We got home after a very traumatic day, I went to get a cup of tea came back to find DD energetically bouncing on the sofa I told her off asking if she’s trying to break her arm again (I wasn’t rational at that point). DD who was three informed me she didn’t hurt herself bouncing on a sofa it was doing roly polys off a chair (at childminders) so there! If I drank I’d have downed a bottle of gin at that point.

Hope DD & you feel better. Glad you had friends around to help keep the situation (relatively) calm.

DartmoorDoughnut · 13/04/2021 07:23

Hope DD2’s hand is ok this morning bless her.

pointythings · 13/04/2021 07:33

I hope your DD is well this morning. Much sympathy from me, I do know how you feel - yesterday at 2.30 am I ended up taking DD2 to A&E after 2 days of worsening abdominal pain. She had her appendix out late last night and is coming home today. She's 18 - it never stops with your kids.

Definitely get your DD's hand checked out if she has any serious pain or issues moving the fingers. Blood cleanup is a pain, but will be OK.

Justilou1 · 13/04/2021 08:21

Hope your DD2 recovers well @pointythings (just realised your user name might feel a bit ick after the night you’ve had! 😖 ) Hope they stay on top of the painkillers! (Hope you get some rest today, too!!!)
@StuckInPollyannaMode Hope your dolly’s fingers are okay today. I definitely think you should push for an X-ray if you can, just to have something tangible to flap at Geller as well as making sure that they’re okay. (Suspect they won’t take any chances with little paws anyway.)

drspouse · 13/04/2021 08:26

We had similar with DD aged 4 in a holiday let. She had in fact broken the thumb so it was good we took her in. Her thumbnail is still wonky two years later. DS closed the door on her but by accident and it was a ridiculously heavy glass door with no hinge guard, the owners seemed to think it was an odd suggestion to put one in.

drspouse · 13/04/2021 08:28

(But we got lots of Easter eggs from the A&E nurses)

LadyDanburysHat · 13/04/2021 09:54

Sorry to hear about DD2s hand. Hope it is not too bad.

Mix56 · 13/04/2021 10:08

Oh God, my DS (8 yr old at the time) shut the door on a visiting little girls finger by accident , they had to sew the nail bed back together (it was OK in the end !) it ruined our dinner party, & the guilt.... aghhhh.
I am still involved in my DC's injuries, they should be married, independent & out of my sight.
DS bust his foot (surgery) & then his ankle (surgery) last year, DD also had surgery x3...
Who is nurse? servant? pharmacist ?

frazzledasarock · 13/04/2021 11:24

That reminds me, DH then in his 30's managed to drop a knife pointy end down on his foot, so he took a picture of it and whatsapped it to his family (because that's what you do when you are risking life and limb). Think his dad an SM had to come to the rescue (as Dh had no sense).

Then SIL had the great Christmas pudding finger tip in hand blender episode, she ended up needing surgery to sew her finger tip back on.
She was in her thirties at the time too. Cue parents rushing her to hospital.

So yeah, it's won't end as they get older, you'll end up with high-tech pictures of their injuries!

Justilou1 · 13/04/2021 15:08

When my kids were much smaller, we lived in the Netherlands. My Dutch was much crappier than theirs. My DD1 managed to break both of her wrists which is very typical of abused kids, so they sent about a bajillion people in to ask her to repeat her story. She eye-rolled every time after the third or fourth person asked - even though I explained why it was important for her to tell it in her own words, etc.... She was on exercise equipment at the park by the lake and decided that she had had enough and was going pretty fast, but decided to try stopping it with the by grabbing the handles with both hands. That ended THAT playdate. (The poor mum was inconsolable!!!) Of course it was the first day of the summer vacation and after a long, wet, grey winter, we had booked a sunny trip to Italy with lots of swimming. Poor kid had to sit it out with lots of ice creams instead.

Daftapath · 13/04/2021 16:19

Oh, Polly, your poor dd. Hope she isn't too sore today. I also agree about getting it checked out.

I am currently parked outside A and E waiting for ds. He went out drinking last night, fell over and sliced his hand on something metal. It was gushing blood when he came home shouting for me at 2am! There is a trail of blood along the drive and pavement (and through the kitchen)

He is currently getting it x-rayed to see if there is any metal in it. Decided against bringing him here last night in his inebriated state ... along with all the other drunken injuries! Hoping he will be seen and sent home quickly with no digging around needed!

ShesMadeATwatOfMePam · 13/04/2021 16:54

I've totally just read all your threads and omg you're a complete inspiration. Your beautiful children are so lucky to have you fighting their corner. I hope dd2's hand feels better soon bless her.

Mix56 · 13/04/2021 21:09

Daft I hope DS is Ok & learns a lesson
Polly, Hope your DD is OK of course ?
