Thread 4. Wow. Thank you for putting up with my ramblings thus far, and for all the support - I couldn't have done it without you all.

Previous thread here

I can confirm he has purchased a masher. He sent me a picture of it and asked if it was alright Confused

Power trip?

Remind me, who tried hiding a big fat pension pot in the divorce?

pointythings · 30/03/2021 11:33

@frazzledasarock

Crestar has been trolling all the boards on here.
Ah, I see. Hope we'll see a mass deletion soon then.
frazzledasarock · 30/03/2021 11:33
@Newestname001 funnily enough as I was stripped ready to get into the shower I had a moment of worry as I attempted it. Fortunately it worked!!
I once had a very hairy moment when attempting to disrobe to shower after a gym session and the bra wouldn't come off, I had an arm awkwardly stuck halfway and visions of having to return to work with half a boob hanging out and my elbow firmly wedged in the bra.

Thankfully I got it off, and never wore it again.

I will now only attempt fastening sports bras and never the slip on over your head ones, as they do not slip on (or off).

Newestname001 · 30/03/2021 11:44

@frazzledasarock

🤣🤣😂!!!

StuckInPollyannaMode · 30/03/2021 11:46

Wow what did I miss? Drivel eh?

Fortunately deleted before I saw it.

Moving on. Had to have a photoshoot for work this morning and the photographer has just said to me wow! What’s up with you? You look about 5 years younger!

I’ll take that 😂

Feeling pretty good and pretty strong. Can’t be arsed to wrangle my sports bra on today, so I’ll save that for tomorrow morning.

Very impressed with the dusting of skirting boards and general cleaning efforts. I won’t need to clean like that again for a while!

Glad you are doing so well OP - thinking ahead is the way to go. I love the way you have prepared your DC.

I was a bit surprised by crestar's odd remarks and assumed they were on the wrong thread. General trolling makes sense of that.

Mix56 · 30/03/2021 14:18

5 years younger...Woo Hoooo, Go You !

Fooshufflewickjbannanapants · 30/03/2021 14:59

Swit swooooo @StuckInPollyannaMode you smasher! Well done on boosting your bairns. Ignore the twatterflap properly ignore!
Chin up tits out, you've got this!

Whatamesssss · 30/03/2021 15:06

Leaving him has probably taken years off you, as good as giving up smoking for your health.

RandomMess · 30/03/2021 15:09

I think you've stolen 5 years from me 😂😂😂😂😂

I've had one of those days where I forgot how to open the roof on my car, forgot where I was going and had to do a massive detour, forgot when high tide was, seems getting the bra on and off was the success of the day!!!

I promise I drive very very carefully but geez it just means I forget where I'm headed too often.

1WayOrAnother2 · 30/03/2021 16:57

I seem to remember that women without men do live longer! (+Men with women live longer than men without them)

You seem to have found the secret to preserving youthfulness.

Justilou1 · 30/03/2021 23:35

@RandomMess - bra was a great achievement! Go you! Tomorrow’s another day! You can tick another box then...

RandomMess · 31/03/2021 18:44

Today I couldn't get the bra on the same method as yesterday WTF??? Managed to get the bottom hook done and abandoned the top one, easier to get off at the end though 😂

Still forgot to lock the car roof so left car unlocked whilst on a 3 hour walk 🤦🏼‍♀️

Didn't have to do a 2 mile detour to the beach today either - take that as my win 🥳🥳🥳

Has anyone still got DC in school today?

Sunbird24 · 31/03/2021 19:15

@StuckInPollyannaMode - if Gellar doesn’t have his masher sorted yet maybe you could recommend him this one?

DPotter · 31/03/2021 22:52

I have resisted saying this, really I have. But I can't hold back any longer... Is it just me or does this masher have more than a passing resemblance to a butt plug ? Not that I've ever been up close & personal with a butt plug, just seen them on t'internet you know.......

Sunbird24 · 31/03/2021 22:56

Goodness @DPotter, as if I’d suggest a masher that looked at all suspect for such a serious and respect-worthy a personage as Gellar... Shock

DPotter · 31/03/2021 23:01

That's why I held back @Sunbird24.

But then it all went quiet. And I had this image in my head of everyone looking up at the ceiling, whistling and waiting for someone to say something. So I did - sort of as a public service you understand. I meant no offence to your good self - I'm sure it's a mighty fine potato masher

StuckInPollyannaMode · 01/04/2021 06:54

Oh my days! 😂 perfect! That’s his Christmas present from the kids sorted.

I’ve woken up filled with impatience to change my name back to my maiden name. Suspect it’s part of reclaiming my identity. How long do I have to wait? What do people normally do?

Also, fuck it. He’s not the boss of me. I’m going to chase the financial settlement.

(You’ll all be proud of me. I ignored every one of his 7 messages yesterday.)

OP posts:
Sunbird24 · 01/04/2021 07:07

Why wait for Christmas Polly, Father’s Day is much sooner!

Well done on ignoring his messages. At some point the lack of reaction has to lead to him at least reducing that if not stopping.

katmarie · 01/04/2021 07:13

You can change your name whenever you like, for whatever reason. So if you want to do it today, then do it. You can also ask people to call you by whatever name you choose while you go through the legal process, so there is nothing stopping you reverting to your maiden name.

DartmoorDoughnut · 01/04/2021 08:01

Oh please PLEASE give him that masher for Father’s Day!!

I really miss my maiden name, if we ever divorced I swear I’d do it on day one of moving out Grin

Mix56 · 01/04/2021 08:10

In your place, I would double barrel, to simplify it with the girl's name. However I never changed mine in the first place
locally I am known as Mrs "Husbands name" anyway.

RandomMess · 01/04/2021 08:35

I would say don't double barrel as I find it a pain in the arse BUT it's up to you.

Perhaps have his surname as another middle name so when you use your passport there is an association with the DDs?

Immunetypegoblin · 01/04/2021 08:42

I have to say, as a mother who has never had the same surname as her children (and who has travelled overseas with them several times), it has never been a problem. I've always had their birth certs with us just in case but no-one has ever questioned it. Possibly because both my children look like me but still Grin

frazzledasarock · 01/04/2021 08:53

With older DC it should be OK to have different names.

Although a friend told me how on returning from one of her many adventures overseas her son informed the nice man at immigration that yes he knew this woman that is Jane Smith 🤦🏻‍♀️
Kid had never before described his mum by her name, just chose that most awkward of moments.

I changed my name back as soon as I got my divorce certificate, I had to send my divorce certificate and birth certificate to change my passport, then once I had my passport in my maiden name everything was easy to change.

I hadn’t wanted to change my name to married name in the first place it was another form of abuse from ex.
