Thread 4. Wow. Thank you for putting up with my ramblings thus far, and for all the support - I couldn't have done it without you all.

Previous thread here

I can confirm he has purchased a masher. He sent me a picture of it and asked if it was alright Confused

Ignore him.

Make it a rule to only respond to things about the DC, and then give it 24 hours first.

If it does happen and he needs to order online and asks you, tell him you’re busy, and don’t respond to him thereafter.

Is he trying to get you so overwhelmed at his ineptness that you give up on the divorce and go home purely for the ease of just being his skivvy at home?

YanTanTethera123 · 17/03/2021 20:12

@DartmoorDoughnut

Fucking hell he’s dense
Thick as sh1te comes to mind 😄 On the subject of gin I have bottled up 2.5 litres of sloe gin today......and it’s delicious 😊

Honestly you deserve a bloody medal for tolerating this twerp OP, it’s a miracle he’s still alive; I would have patio’d him years ago 😡

RandomMess · 17/03/2021 20:14

I almost feel compelled to send you my unopened gin miniatures to commiserate tbh 😳

And he wonders why you want to divorce!!

CoraPirbright · 17/03/2021 20:16

“Wall of nope” Grin

Re: fabulous gins to try, Isle of Harris is unbelievably delicious!

gallileofigaro · 17/03/2021 20:40

@Starbonnet123 try it with coke? Might be a bit like Black Forest gatueax?

CongealedCrags · 17/03/2021 20:48

I’ve realised that if we I need to isolate at any point that I don’t have online shopping set up, so you will need to order for me I should get off my fat arse and set it up now

I'd almost forgotten about Tarquins - I've had their blackberry one before.

I have a good 2 litres of homemade cherry gin and probably more of raspberry/loganberry/blackberry (I call it "red") bottled - I just need to drink it.

Was it the Isle of Harris one where they use seaweed?

KittiesInsane · 17/03/2021 20:50

You could always reply ‘I expect the girls can set it up for you.’

justilou1 · 17/03/2021 21:10

He’s so utterly in denial about this divorce going through, isn’t he? Twat... I love the “You’ll have to...” bit. Sure..... not convinced a judge is going to enforce that one - the paperwork he’s been dicking around with, however... that’s a “Have to” situation.

1WayOrAnother2 · 17/03/2021 21:18

There is no way you should engage with his new demand - of course.

What fun you could have though - with his card - in ordering things suitable for his imprisonment :)

justilou1 · 17/03/2021 21:24

Sicario · 17/03/2021 21:37

I taught my cat how to do Ocado.

‘I’ve realised that if we need to isolate at any point that I don’t have online shopping set up, so you will need to order for me’

Gosh - what an utter douche bag. He really thinks you are his unpaid PA doesn't he?

I'm glad you've not replied - it only encourages him more - not that he needs it...🌹

PanamaPattie · 17/03/2021 22:02

I highly recommend joining a gin club. Twelve bottles a year plus tonics etc. Worth every penny.

comfyoldcardi · 17/03/2021 22:04

I just laughed out loud at that. He really is a caution isn't he?

skeemee · 17/03/2021 22:11

I highly recommend Pentland Hills Gin. It comes in a beautiful refillable bottle. Engraved with your own serial number and picture of their dog. How apt! It’s the best gin I’ve ever tasted. Here’s their website www.pentlandhillsgin.com/our-shop/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI4oWUpaq47wIVgu3tCh1eLwesEAAYASAAEgI-EfD_BwE

I like Tesco’s tonic. Nice and fizzy. 4 bottles for £1. I cba with Fevertree and Fentimans.

katmarie · 17/03/2021 22:11

I think the only response to that would be 'hahahahahahahahahahaha. NO.' Jesus he keeps trying doesn't he?

gavisconismyfriend · 17/03/2021 22:25

Martin Miller - fabulous gin!

ElGuardiandenoche · 18/03/2021 01:22

@WeatherwaxLives

Tarquins is absolutely fab, love it. Just the bog standard one, but they do some lovely flavoured ones. I tried a elderflower one at a their event booth a couple of years ago, that was gorgeous!

I like fever tree tonic on its own, but I find it far far too strong flavoured to have as a mixer. Have you tried the fever tree mediterranean tonic - it's much lighter. But I agree, Schweppes is lovely.

I got the figgy pud flavoured tarquins at Xmas and that's rather nice. Warming Wink

God I miss the pub....

Yep! they do a lovely range and I am afraid I adore Fevertree and we keep a supply in the thread. I have Mediterranean, elderflower, ginger, cucumber and clementine on a rolling Amazon subscribe and save, different ones each month. We drink it on it's own as well as with gin.

I do miss the food and drink festivals and getting to try different things and I'm so looking forward to being able to attend again. Also walking to our favourite pub and having a G&T overlooking the river and the boats.

Anyway @StuckInPollyannaMode you are an absolute legend and must have the patience of a saint. I agree with the others to ignore, ignore, ignore.

StuckInPollyannaMode · 18/03/2021 06:41

Hang on, y’all - @Sicario what?! What witchery did I just read? Does it work, or does your cat just order eleventy thousand tins of Felix?

@justilou1 starting with a printer 😂

Time for my morning cuppa in peace before the kids wake up.

@ElGuardiandenoche oh, I SO miss food and drink festivals! Especially Ludlow. I used to go every couple of years with my girlfriends and we’d do a couple of classes too.

I want to be slightly sunburnt in a field carrying bags of random foodstuffs with sore fingers from a knife skills class, laughing with my friends over a glass of overpriced Pimms.

Le sigh.

I just got an advert for Whitney Neill new gin Mango & Lime - just need a warm summers day for that one!

Starbonnet123 · 18/03/2021 08:58

Thankyou @CongealedCrags and @gallileofigaro I'll give it a go this weekend

justilou1 · 18/03/2021 10:08

Some knife skills classes could save you some money on solicitor’s fees @StuckInPollyannaMode.... or maybe some Axe-throwing lessons...

I think his 'you must do this for me' and 'you must do that for me' is intended to keep you 'tied' to him in some way. Maybe 20% is because of 'past patterns', but 80% is to keep him front and centre of your attention.

Ignoring it is the best response. Even saying 'no' means you're paying attention to him and that's what he wants.
