My stbxh is you effing c..t!

OP posts:
irishoak · 03/02/2021 03:22

@irishoak

Hypocritical c**t. Fucking stupid (that one screamed at me in a rage).

To me tho, it's the personal stuff that's more hurtful than the name calling. I don't feel so bad about being called a hypocritical c**t, but him taunting me that I have no friends because I'm so horrible is something I think about every day.

Oh, I thought of another one!

We'd usually call each other but a pet name, rarely use actual names when talking with each other. However, when he's getting really nasty every horrible statement has my name attached - "good luck finding anyone else up put up with you (name)", etc. Hearing your name is this nasty tone and knowing that it means the anger has moved up a level is a horrible association.

LucyHarper · 03/02/2021 11:16

Touchwood! He hasn't use bad words for me.

PussGirl · 03/02/2021 11:26

Current DP has never called me anything unkind, or said anything to me in an unkind way.

Ex came out with a few corkers:

Crazy
Insane
Bully
Liar
Lazy
Stupid
Mental
Boring
Controlling
Pathetic

all of the above reflecting his own personality & behaviour rather than mine - I shrugged them off

The remark I found most hurtful when when I was 10 days post-Caesarean & wearing a pair of his boxers for comfort, pottering around the bedroom getting dressed & he blurted out "God you look awful" Sad - later tried to brush it off as "joking" when I mentioned how upset I felt.

SkintHippy · 03/02/2021 13:43

Boring
Antisocial
Jealous
Paranoid
Useless
Unloveable
Unlikeable
Friendless

All the Ex. He wasn't the type to shout insults in your face. He would just shake his head/look exasperated/full of faux concern for my ineptitude. That kind of thing wears you down and makes you hypervigilant. I've been free for four years, the peace is blissful.

Fairyliz · 03/02/2021 14:10

Married 32 years and the worst he has said is ‘oh bloody hell’ under his breath when I was annoying him.
I actually feel sad for women who think they have to put up with this along with the porno talk.

Bluntness100 · 03/02/2021 14:17

My husband doesn’t really do this and never has. I do though, I’ve called him some terrible things in the heat of an argument, inc the c word, but to be fair to him he never sinks as low as I do, as I’ve a nasty temper.

I do apologise and it’s really quite rare such a thing would happen, he also knows it’s anger, so it doesn’t really bother him. Doesn’t make it right though.

I think he called me a name once, some thing is at the back of my mind, but I can’t think what it was. In general though he doesn’t do it at all.

Meowchickameowmeow · 03/02/2021 14:27

I think the worst thing we've called each other is numpty, neither of us are name-callers and it's not something either of us would appreciate even in 'jest'!

NewYearHere20 · 03/02/2021 14:29

I got called an "emotionless plank" basically because I didn't want to have sex. He'd been a master of sexual coercion for a while before that and I'd started to see through his crap.

He's now an exH Grin

henni85 · 03/02/2021 14:33

My ex called me a f*cking psycho. Lovely when I was battling mental health problems, hence he is an ex.

My DH calls me an old wizened hag, because I'm 10 years younger than him, and probably look even younger. He also calls my DD11 the couch potato as shes very sporty and high energy and never stops dancing. We have lots of friendly insults but have to be careful not to do it in front of DSD as she doesnt get it and delights in joining in with really nasty ones.

He once muttered dickhead under his breath in an argument and I nearly took his head off his shoulders- that was the first and last time he's tried to actually insult me. I dont care at all about swearing but I cant stand name calling, so rude.

Silenceisgolden20 · 03/02/2021 15:00

How can bitch and cunt be affectionate?

Why the banter?
Don't get it Hmm

Silenceisgolden20 · 03/02/2021 15:02

Retard is a word that should never be used anymore
Not in this country. Please don't say it around your children.

Wotapolava · 03/02/2021 15:31

Somebody further up the comments made a fair point.
Their partner upset them once and problem addressed and resolved.

Some spousal arguments can be funny.
Just avoid being drawn into things which can be unpleasant in real life or anywhere.
Unfortunately there are those who are horrendously vile without provocation or because they believe they can get away with it.

Idontknowausername · 03/02/2021 15:33

Wasn’t me who said it, can you read?

You don’t have to get it, it’s not your relationship? Works for us😁
Lovelydiscusfish · 03/02/2021 15:36

My ex said all kinds of awful things, but the one that sticks in my mind was that I was a “diagnosis waiting to happen.” Lovely fella........

I hope I have learned from this experience, and that if anybody speaks to me again like he did, I will run for the hills.

Bubbles1st · 03/02/2021 15:38

My ex told me I was a fat cunt after gaining weight during our relationship, he followed it with he wasn't a chubby chaser but I was better than a wank......

We didn't last much longer after that.

Silenceisgolden20 · 03/02/2021 15:39

NO ONE should use the word retard

Pass that onto your partner.

I can read just fine.

And with a reaction like that , no wonder you call each other names. Even as a joke. Guess it does work for you.

HearMeSnore · 03/02/2021 15:47

Once, when he was in a colossally bad mood he called me a F-ing C. I couldn't have been more stunned if he'd slapped me in the face because it was so completely out of character.

I removed myself from his presence for a while and the next time I felt able to speak to him I told him very calmly that I had never been spoken to like that before in my life, even by people who hated me, and if he ever addressed me in that fashion again it would be the last conversation we ever have as husband and wife.

He apologised and has never done it again in nearly 10 years. I don't think I've heard him use the C-word at all.

sapnupuas · 03/02/2021 15:53

My husband has never called me names in anger, but we do name-call a lot generally. Trogg was a highlight.

My dad used to have my mum on his phone as "Home is Hell".

Shesheadingonin · 03/02/2021 15:56

STBXH called me a f*ing a**hole. No one would ever believe he cursed at me like that and I am way too embarrassed that I ‘allowed’ it. He said it twice to me in anger in 20 years. The way I justified it was he was incapable of using intellect in the heat of the moment and just really wanting to hurt me. He also said I was just like my mum! That was worse (particularly as he knows the effect my mum’s moods and outbursts had on me even till this day)! I’d be immediately out the door if anyone said anything like that to me again whether they were angry or not!

OP, at least we are doing something about it now!

user1471538283 · 03/02/2021 16:09

My ex said I needed to lose weight after I had DS. I did lose weight and he called me a "skinny bitch" and a "whore". He was the ugliest thing on two legs and he was the one shagging around not me. Just thinking about him all these years later gives me the creeps ...

Jjjjjj1981 · 03/02/2021 16:12

Totally agree @Silenceisgolden20
And you laughed about it @Idontknowausername?
That’s disgusting. Shame on you and your partner. That’s the same as calling someone a casual slur based on a certain ethnicity or sexual orientation. That you throw it around so freely and find it hilarious is very telling.
