Previous thread

How’s that for a title?!

Well, I’ve done a deal on the car. Actually it drives very nicely. I can see it’s practical. And it’s not an old banger.

It’s not very me. But it is sensible, and sensible I must be.

Actually got some kip last night. 9-5.

How’s everyone else doing? Justilou is it warm in Oz? One of my best friends lives there and I haven’t seen her for too long. RandomMess have you managed to have a better night / find out when you’re going home?

I haven’t told him about handing it over to the solicitor and no mediation on Friday yet. Waiting for the notes and financial summery from the mediator first. Hopefully today.

Three weeks OP Flowers

RandomMess · 28/12/2020 20:38

😳😳😳😳😳😳

What time does he expect them to go to bed???

RandomMess · 28/12/2020 20:42

My dyspraxic adult still isn't good with cutlery, neither is DH to tbh 🤦🏼‍♀️

StuckInPollyannaMode · 28/12/2020 21:02

Given his own way, he’d put them to bed at 7. Asleep by 7.20, so he can ‘have an evening’

School nights I want them in bed by 8. Weekends 9. Tonight they had stories at 8, have messed around doing some craft stuff for a bit, and have just dropped off (they are having a sleepover in my room!)

Eldest DD has fine motor issues which contributes to it all.

Gosh I just can’t wait to be home alone. I’ve been looking at bedding today. Going to treat myself to a nice set. Only cheaply given I don’t know what I’m going to, but I’m going to go super floral and fun!

Such... A... Dick.. I honestly think that you and the kids should be laughing in his face at this kind of shit.

RandomMess · 28/12/2020 21:14

He really does see DC as an inconvenience. Wants the tick box of wife and kids without the reality of them 😳

justilou1 · 29/12/2020 03:47

They look great on his resume

Hawkins001 · 29/12/2020 04:48

I've not read the previous thread, how ever all the best op

dexterslockedintheshedagain · 29/12/2020 09:32

Sounds to me like he's heading for a nervous breakdown, OP.
Stay as strong as ever. You got this.

mbosnz · 29/12/2020 13:10

The bedding I've got from Amazon, I have to say, has been surprisingly good quality given the price I've paid for it!

Mix56 · 29/12/2020 15:52

Isn't it the Sales soon ? you can get 2 sets !
Thick fluffy bathrobe
New giant bath towels,
Candles
Jo Malone house smelly thing
& some delicious Gin to drink in the bath with tonic (in the Gin not the bath)
Ahhhh, doesn't that make your day?

mbosnz · 29/12/2020 17:29

Ooooh, with candles - can I recommend the new L'occitane range? Absolutely beautiful!

RandomMess · 30/12/2020 14:32

Hope today is a better day Thanks

DartmoorDoughnut · 30/12/2020 16:11

I know it’s boring but our new hoover arrived today, Shark duo clean I think it’s called and it is AMAZING, if you’re fighting over who gets the hoover shove the old one up his bottom and get this one instead Grin

katmarie · 30/12/2020 16:22

He's definitely not going to be in line for father of the year is he? Tbh a bit of a drop in standards is fine over holidays, they don't need to be in bed so early if they're not at school the next day.

As I often think when I read your posts about him, he's a bit of a prat isn't he? Not sure how you haven't stuck him under the patio by now.

I bought new bedding this year, really splurged and got a mixture of cotton from John Lewis, and bamboo sheets from Amazon, and a wool filled duvet from Devon duvets. It's heavenly getting into bed now. Nice bedding is one of those little luxuries that make a big difference I feel.

StuckInPollyannaMode · 30/12/2020 16:45

I LOVE my Shark - I'm deffo taking it!

Not so much a better day today. I've been doing admin and having a couple of meetings. He's been on kid duty so is now in a foul mood, but is in his ELEMENT reading all the restrictions out. I'm now calling him Doctor Doom. We've just gone into Tier 4.

All recommendations for new luxury items gratefully received! Sorry, dashing a bit - got to finish my invoicing and then play kerplunk.

I let the girls have a sleepover in the sitting room last night. As a result they are a bit grotty and knackered. Shame when he's had them all day...he walked back in from getting yet more bloody stockpile shopping (fridge is rammed, I can't fit any more in, it's just embarrassing) and found me on a Zoom with my brother drinking G&T at 2pm. You can imagine how that went down...

Luxury items
Nice bedding and towels
Candles
Fairy lights (not just for Christmas)
A hot tub. (My exH always said they were tacky)
A fridge/freezer with an ice dispenser
Fancy food deliveries. Lots of high end restaurants are doing deliveries at home cos of the pandemic.

A well stocked wine rack
Nice glasses for wine and gin
I got divorced 4 years ago and have worked hard at luxury item procurement

mbosnz · 30/12/2020 16:57

Nice throws and cushions!
And rugs.
A good big ol' vase for a mass of flowers (M&S do a really good one).

RandomMess · 30/12/2020 17:33

FGS

It's Christmas/New Year
We're in the middle of a miserable pandemic

If you can't chill and a live a little now when can you!!!!!

Tell him to f*ck off from me!

To add to my health shock my Mam died on Christmas Eve (not unexpected) after a few weeks in hospital and they didn't call my Dad in to see her until she was was unconscious. I am so upset for them how could they not have not have put her on end of life pathway sooner so they could have said goodbye SadSadSad

He needs to get a bloody grip and starting enjoying his children and appreciating what he does have!

I'm not even able to drink anymore apart from in serious moderation!

RandomMess · 30/12/2020 17:35

I'm loving my rotary tea light with posh smelly tea lights!

We only have Egyptian cotton mega high count sateen finish bedding. My wool duvets.

More pets.

mbosnz · 30/12/2020 17:48

Oh my stars, RandomMess, I'm so very sorry for you and your Dad's loss, and the terrible circumstances thereof.

It would make you rather impatient of very little pricks like this. . .

I'll have a wine for you, if you like Grin.

Nice handwash and matching moisture lotion.
Nice ironing water if you're an ironing weirdo like me. . .

RandomMess · 30/12/2020 17:57

I stocked up on a particularly delicious Malbec and Prosecco in the Nectar double up thing.

When I go in the undercroft roof aka "dungeon" they are sat there looking at me 🤬 reckon I have a years worth now including to take with me when we eventual get to go stay with friend again!!!

I still have plenty left from the bottle I opening Christmas Day 🤦🏼‍♀️

78percentLindt · 30/12/2020 18:54

Oh, Random. That's cute. It has reminded me of the Moomin one I got in Copenhagen. Must get it out when I put the rotating crib with candles away.

RandomMess · 30/12/2020 18:57

I got my friend the Moomin one for Christmas!

I have just seen that the Miffy bicycle one is still there on Wish so may have to get that ready for my summer birthday 😂
