@Angelofdeath sorry that made me laugh out loud. Most men would run a mile and there's him right up front about it. At least you'd know where you were with him 😂😂😀

Had to join this one! Men who put their sexual preferences as one of the few comments on their profile "into bondage and kink" but why do people need to know this straight away?? Tell us about your hobbies first lol

ErrmWTAF · 02/06/2020 08:21

When I read some of these profiles, my internal mantra is "when someone tells you who you are, believe them".

I definately agree! Also the men who exclusively have group pictures (which one are you?!) alot of negativity (who hurt you and why are you online if you seem to almost hate women??), the men with all close up pictures (no I don't need to see your nose hairs), tops off and they're not that fit, swearing in photos, blurry photos, ahhhh the list goes on!
DKanin · 02/06/2020 23:39

All of these I totally agree with but one that's only been mentioned once or twice and really irritates me is men who think the more countries they've visited, the more interesting that makes them. Then they boast about various obscure countries they've visited (ideally ones the government advises not to go to).

My ExH's profile was spotted on POF recently, his height has increased by 4" since last year, he's now 7 years younger than he was when I met him and he claims to do a specific and very well paid job (he made that bit up). I don't get it - how do you explain away things like that to women you meet?! Knowing he's an example of the specimens out there and could come across as a nice potential BF for the women who see his profile put me off OLD again and reminded me how much rubbish and lies you have to sift through.

I am obviously out of the loop, what does the "420" thing mean?

famousforwrongreason · 03/06/2020 13:11

420 has become an internationally recognised code for being a weed smoker, April 20th is international weed day and hails from something urban and American bit I cant remember what right now. Something to do with students possibly....

Crystalspider · 03/06/2020 13:23

@Angelofdeath That is scary, was he alot older than you were expecting too? and shorter than you at 5ft 4, I think I would of leap frogged over him and ran away.

Crazy isn't it that they think we won't mind that they look nothing like their describtion.

Even with pictures you can't always trust them, they could be outdated or professional pictures which make them more flattering than they really are, which I found out on my first OLD.

highmarkingsnowbile · 03/06/2020 13:33

So many who are incapable for stringing together a coherent sentence.

I dabbled a bit in this years ago and it was bad then. Anyone who misuses capital letters was stricken off. This is not German; nouns only need to be capitalised in particular instances.

Thank you!

Worst ones for me are the snapchat filters. They literally hide behind a dogs nose and ears?! Why? I just do not get it. Thats the worst on womens profiles and on men its any who mention how badly women have treated them. Massive red flag.

OLD is generally horrendous in my experience. To be fair my profile as a single mum of 2, aged 2 and 4 might make me a bit unappealing Grin

Ha yes! And the same men that do it probably say in their profile how they dislike women doing it Hmm
lardass88 · 03/06/2020 16:13

Or the ones that put "fill in later" on everything 🙄

Pelleas · 03/06/2020 16:19

Because the SnapChat picture filters their faces to look more conventionally attractive. The dog features act as an excuse to upload a filtered picture - i.e. to give the impression it's not filtered to make them look better, it's just filtered because the dog features are oh-so-funny and cute.

MamaLion1319 · 03/06/2020 16:24

"Ask" in every box
Rude profiles
Profile pictures with clothes off
Aubergine emojis
Bigheadedness
"Don't be afraid to message me" statements insinuating women who aren't so good looking as themselves have a chance!
"Looking for me" cheesy as hell!
A list of dont's

MamaLion1319 · 03/06/2020 16:25

Pictures with a cigarette or spliff in their mouths Envy

MamaLion1319 · 03/06/2020 16:26

Dirty houses in background of pictures
All pictures with other people in so you don't know which one they are
Pictures with their children or other women

Mermaidwaves · 03/06/2020 16:48

Im finding a few at the moment seem to heavily feature their kids, on the blurb and in their pics. I was messaging one who's conversation basically consisted of daily updates of his children, what they did and said. I'm a mum but I dont bore strange fellas about them! Next!!

SunshineSmellsLikeSummer · 03/06/2020 16:54

Mermaidwaves

That was a massive red flag to me tbh. Aside from the safeguarding element of putting photos of hour children online like that, it just goes to show what they think of women.
