Should i pursue this man?

I had the major fanny gallops for a colleague who has recently left.

I never acted on it largely because we were colleagues but obviously that doesn’t apply now.

Would it be a terrible idea to private message him on facebook and say, ‘look, I fancied the pants off you when we worked together, now we don’t, do you want to do something about it? If not, delete this message and pretend it never happened.’?
We’re both in our 40s, not sure of his marital status – he didn’t have a wedding ring but wore a non weddingy ring on his right hand and never mentioned a significant other. I felt very strong chemistry when he was around but am well aware it could have been totally one sided. I figure I’ll likely never see him again I thought in for a penny, in for a pound.

Am I being startlingly naïve or should I go for it?

Go for it!

HollowTalk · 02/07/2018 19:11

I think your 40s are an odd time and can make you a bit like a teenager in the way you fancy someone. A few women I know went totally off the rails - it was as though they were on heat.

This guy sounds like a knob - a highlighted knob - and frankly he's reminding me of that guy from The Office.

Should i pursue this man?
Auldspinster · 02/07/2018 20:52

He's better looking than Gareth from The OfficeGrin. Nice arse too.

He should be flattered that a foxy lady wants to do unspeakably filthy things with him and if he isn't it's his loss.

Coughy · 02/07/2018 21:01

Ask him for a drink at yours?

Auldspinster · 02/07/2018 21:23

He would currently have the choice of Glenmorangie, Honey Jack Daniels, some very ancient ginger wine or a can of ready mixed g&t at Spinster Towers.

PeppermintPasty · 02/07/2018 21:35

Of COURSE you should! I do love an illogical biological urge not that I can really remember having any

Message him immediately and report back pronto Grin

Auldspinster · 02/07/2018 21:38

'Hey doll, fancy coming to mine for a single malt and a BJ?' Something like that?Wink

OP posts:
Chapsview · 02/07/2018 21:39

Go for - I would love to get a message like that!

Beebiesandcheebies · 02/07/2018 21:43

Please report back!

SomeKnobend · 02/07/2018 21:44

She doesn't want a coffee or a catch up, she wants a shag. Your more honest and direct proposal was a much better idea than pissing about pretending to want a chat imo op. Maybe ask if he's single, and if he is, tell him you'd like to have sex with him and see if he feels the same. Good luck!

grumpy4squash · 02/07/2018 21:48

Hold on a sec! Does he have any idea you fancy him? If you text him, would he nod and think "yeah, I thought so" (good) or "wtf?" (probably bad, but not necessarily).
Probably worth a punt anyway - would go with the inviting him for a drink 'to start with' and see where it goes.
You know you'll have to report back now.....?

Auldspinster · 02/07/2018 21:59

I'll send him a direct proposition once I've got my tip of a boudoir tidied up.

There was always a bit of awkwardness between us. We'd both chat away to the rest of our team and pointedly ignore each other. In my case it was cos I was slack jawed with lust around him and turned into a gibbering idiot.

Cricrichan · 03/07/2018 08:15

Ooh please report back op!

Auldspinster · 03/07/2018 08:30

How about this

Hi Mr X, h0pe y0u are well?
I can appreciate this is pr0bably c0mpletely 0ut 0f the blue but I was pretty str0ngly attracted t0 y0u when we w0rked t0gether. It was 0bvi0usly c0mpletely inappr0priate t0 act 0n it at the time especially as I have n0 idea if y0u’re even single, let al0ne whether 0r n0t it was mutual.
I’m happily single and n0t interested in anything heavy but d0 enj0y sex a l0t and if y0u happened t0 feel the same way I think we might have l0t 0f fun t0gether. 0f c0urse y0u may be reading this and thinking yuk, I dinnae want t0 shag her which is fair en0ugh but n0thing ventured n0thing gained and either way I wish y0u well in whatever y0u’re d0ing n0w!
Cheers

WasFatNowThin · 03/07/2018 09:49

Well? Did you send it? Has he answered?

Auldspinster · 03/07/2018 09:51

I've not got access to facebook right now, i'll maybe tweak it slightly and send it tonight.

Talith · 03/07/2018 09:53

I've been fairly blunt and to the point when dating and it saves a lot of time and money. Most blokes find it a refreshing change.

If you want a fling ask him if he's interested in a fling! And obviously report back here Grin

Auldspinster · 03/07/2018 09:59

He came across as quite a sexual person, quite physically free (not in a creepy way).
