Busy day here. Helping with family things. My turn to do dinner. Just put a jelly in the fridge and then making scotch eggs later. I bake them in the oven as oppose to deep frying them.

Willow2017 · 16/08/2018 08:53

Morning.
MrsJ dont feel guilty its not easy having visitors staying for a while. You are juggling fanily and work so take it easy on yourself. Books suggestion is good maybe a day out would be goid.

Sunny here. Need to move and get on and drag kids out of bed. Need new school jumper for ds1 and check out beds😁 garage needs doing and stuff to recycling but working later do won't have time for it all i suspect.
Book they havent mentioned that but i doubt i would qualify tbh. Thanks anyway i will ask just in case though.

MrsJonesAndMe · 16/08/2018 09:21

They go Monday so really not time now, but it worked well in the past. Just going to have to grin and bear it!

Very wet here too.

Willow2017 · 16/08/2018 11:34

Garage done off to skip. Brought my stone chimney up to my door. Ll 'kindly' brought all my full and empty pots up but left that. They aint keeping it!!

Chasingsquirrels · 16/08/2018 15:50

Just checking in, been reading but haven't replied sorry. Work is somewhat full on, then hit a low this reason - don't know why, been in tears twice today so left on time and am going to plant some perennials I got at the weekend and tidy up my front garden as that usually improves my mood.

Hugs mrsJ, as book says it's hard having visitors for a spell however much you love them.

All getting there willow.

Squirrels hope the gardening makes you feel better. ((Hugs))

Ds2 is full of ideas to use the bed slats to make something! Oh well thats something else to keep 😀 he is talking with friend on xbox about getting a saw😲 er no... your dad can help you make something he is good at that kind of thing.

Horsemad · 17/08/2018 00:12

Yeeayyy, it's the weekend!!! 😁😁😁
Just finished, Happy Me!

Hope you aren't too tired today Willow, I can never sleep at the weekend, yet can barely lift my head off the pillow in the week! Confused

Lovely pics chasing Smile but poor Charlie Sad I remember when my dog was castrated, I ended up sleeping on the floor next to him to keep him company!

bookbook · 17/08/2018 18:38

Evening all
lovely boys Chasing - and poor Charlie ... he looks a bit dispirited with the cone !
Horse - footy already, its still August
agh Willow - thats me , if I have something I must get up for, I seem to fret all night, and never settle properly . Hope you are okay
84 - ooh scotch eggs - haven't had one of those in years !
MrsJ - hope you are all calm, and not too frazzled
Been here there and everywhere today - allotment , helping an old friend pack up books ready for a move to sheltered accommodation ( a bit sad that ) , a bit of shopping etc. Going to sit and do a bit of crochet tonight.
I have a long day tomorrow . Helping out at our allotment veg show , have to be there early to help set up, and stay until its all cleared away . I'm not hopeful for any prizes this year , its been tough growing with the heatwave, and very little is looking good enough to show , but will take a sweetcorn and a courgette Grin
Enjoy the rest of the day , and have a good Saturday

MrsJonesAndMe · 17/08/2018 19:38

Hi all we've had a good day today. Wise words about not being used to each other, so true.

Poor you and Charlie too Squirrel. Hope you both feel better. Gardening is not therapeutic for me 😜

Willow, I hope you have a day off to recover before the next shift? I'd be tempted to let ds1 crack on with the saw - purely because it's not sitting in front of a screen, but maybe his dad helping is a good idea.

That is sad book. Sounds like you're busy as usual!

Horse, I hope you enjoy the weekend - nothing like that Friday feeling.

I have Chinese waiting for me go to sleep DS

Willow2017 · 17/08/2018 20:09

Am still awake but flaghing😀
Got to sleep about 4 and up 7.30.

Took beds to skip you will go in the car damm you then off to town for stuff. Had coffee with kids 1st and had a really nice time. Stayed too long but chatted about loads of different things for a change, was a real treat.
Then got buts in home bargains and spent too.much in Morrison's. But fancied certain things and i found the oranges and bananas in aldi this week were tasteless. Then off to sally army place
No decent beds but got a keyboard for my pc for £3 (mine has no letters on most keys which is fine for me but nobody else and ex was demented the other day😁😁)

Have packed more stuff checked in attic now need to remake my bed.

Ds1 slept downstairs on matress last night as bed stuff in way but will have plenty room tonight. Might just need to check out new beds.

Asked guy at recycling about paint and i need to put congealant in it as they onky take it if its hard and no chemicals. He suggested i get a metal.bin and burn turps etc😁😁😁
Homebase have no.idea about congealant so will have to look online.

Great photos Squirrels lovely boys and you look very happy in them.

Busy as usual Book. Soubds like a long day tomorrow. Good luck with the veg.

Chill out time Horse enjoy it.
Ooh MrsJ pass sone chinese please. What you having?

Working tomorrow 12 -5😐 but its good staff so will be ok. Working 3 days on trot then hosp Tuesday help!

Elderflower14 · 17/08/2018 23:05

Think I murder my boss tomorrow. Phone rings at 9.55pm. His name comes up and I panic and think my lady is ill...
NO.... He's let the f...ng dog get out again! Mum and I drove down. Knocked up my friend and her bf next door and all four of us poked round the playing field which is where she was last time. (Deaf, one eyed and elderly)
Mum and I decide to walk back and drive down the High Street. I went one way, Mum the other. She found the dog who had wandered back into the garden!!!!! Hmm

MrsJonesAndMe · 18/08/2018 18:15

Eeek, Elderflower glad dog was found.

How was work willow?

we had a civil day at a NT property and BBQ. London tomorrow. I neeeeed a holiday to recover!

Hope everyone else OK (book, squirrels & horse)

bookbook · 18/08/2018 19:03

Hi all
long day and ready for bed...
84 - gah , infuriating!
MsJ - home run to your house to yourselves again Grin
Willow - hoped you coped with the work today, and you don't hurt too much
No prizes for me at the show, but I didn't really expect any, but they weren't a disaster at least . And the show went well, no real hitches , so that was a relief .
Off for soak in the bath , and a book I think tonight .
Chasing and Horse - hope all is well .
Back tomorrow , enjoy the evening

Willow2017 · 18/08/2018 20:02

Work.busy am aching😀 but good laughs too makes a change

Out first thing with ds2 to ge5 claw clippers fir gp. I put ours in a safe place for packing..hmmmm.
Pet store didnt have any so went to vets..mistook price but luckily ds2 queried it £14.45😲😲😲
Got some in garden centre for under £5😀 got fungicide spray for pots as have blooming white fungus on some things blaming the forget me nots. Been back after work to Homebase to get a new clothes airer as both mine are broken. Ds2 made tea with chicken roasties and yorkies. Yum. Brought traybake from work for afters😀

Cloudy and grey all day with showers but still very muggy. 😐

MrsJ not easy but bet every one has had a nice time despite all living on top of each other for a while.

Should be doing something bathroom floor is a disgrace but havent the motivation.

Glad the show went well Book showcasing how great allotments are is good though Saw someine yestetday wheel barrowing stuff from his allotment to.recycling centre (which is quite close) first thought was you for some reason 😀😀

Chasingsquirrels · 19/08/2018 08:16

Enjoy London today MrsJ.
Hope you aren't too achy today Willow, well done to ds2 on the tea.
Sounds like a good day book.

I had a very lazy day yesterday, picked the boys up from their dad's then we just mooched all day. Ds1 made some flapjacks and we watched a couple of films - I've just resigned up for Netflix.

Hoping to be more productive today but haven't got masses of motivation.

Charlie seems completely fine, apart from having to wear the cone so that he doesn't lick his stitches, and we are having to keep him as calm as possible so they don't get strained - not easy with a mad cocker spaniel.

Elderflower14 · 19/08/2018 08:33

Working overtime today. Have told Bossman I will make him a quiche....

Horsemad · 19/08/2018 09:31

Good grief, I don't know what's on my mind but I misread your post as 'make him a quickie' 84!!! ShockGrinBlush

Right, I'm off out for a coffee now!

Chasingsquirrels · 19/08/2018 09:54

That's made me laugh horsemad 😂😂

Morning all.

Dreadful Sunday again. I absolutely hate it. 4 hours of feeling sick and on edge waiting for eruptions and criricism its not how you should feel at work is it?

You should have got some valium for Charlie at the vets Squirrels 😁

Have had lazy morning slept later only woke a couplle of times so better night than last 2. Washing on. New airer up thanks up ds2😀

Raining here but that won't stop the punters worse luck.

Have a good day chilling out all.

Chasingsquirrels · 19/08/2018 12:17

Oh Willow no that not how you should feel, maybe when you are settled I the new place you could start to see what else might be around - you have been there quite a while now so it won't look "fickle" on applications (if that is even a thing anymore). Hope it's not too bad x

Think I should have had his vocal chords taken out as well!

After a very lazy day yesterday, still feeling somewhat low and overwhelmed (although nothing like Thursday when I couldn't stop crying) and a lazy morning today I've got up and fitted the new thermostatic bath/shower mixer taps in the main bathroom which the boys use.

The old one broke about 4 months ago and after a month of turning it on with pliers, which totally knackered the thread, they have been using my ensuite shower.

I was thinking I would have to get a plumber etc but then had the brainwave that if I just replaced it with exactly the same it would just need the main bit fitting to the existing legs so would only have to turn the mains water off, unscrew the old one and screw on the new one.

Found loads of sellers on eBay and only £40 (probably why it only lasted 4 years, but the next step up seems to be several hundred). Ordered and arrived on Friday. C said he'd do it but then there wasn't really time and tbh it looked (and was) pretty straight forward.

So ds1 has trialled it and ds2 is using it now, and apart from a trickle leak from where the shower attachment joins the taps (unrelated - I just can't tighten it enough, maybe needs a new washer) it all seems to be good.

Yay Me!

Sad Willow, I agree with Chasing - once the move is done try & find something else.

I'm impressed at your DIY skills, Chasing, I'd have probably flooded the place! Grin
