That should have said St Peters Basilica. Now on my way to Colloseum. Off to a concert tonight!!

84CharingCrossRoad · 10/08/2018 17:48

Today would have been DP'S birthday. Last year we had a birthday party in his ward at the hospice. I'm in Rome this year as a way to get away. Still feel very Sad though. Off to dinner and a concert soon.

MrsJonesAndMe · 10/08/2018 17:51

Amazing news willow, just snuck on to see.

Busy day, just off for tea now
Xxx

Willow2017 · 10/08/2018 19:03

Had a nice day in Edinburgh. Well apart from face-planting onto pavement! Bought pint glasses for ds's Hogwarts for ds2 and Fallout for ds1 and i took a turn carrying bag with all our stuff in it and 3 minutes later tripped on uneven pavement! Mortified! People kindly came running to see if i was ok, one thought a car had hit me. Only thing i was worried about was the glasses😁 got lovely spreading lump on eyebrow/eyelid and aching all over. Never fails! Was very good despite being in 2 Harry Potter shops and Forbidden Planet i didn't buy anything😀 just sighed over stuff.
Went to the Filling Station for lunch and saw some street acts, human statues etc. Love the atmosphere during the festival.

Willow2017 · 10/08/2018 19:15

Forgot to mention when i got back fence has been done! And all my big pots down in garden are now up the top! I suppose it saves me moving them but it kind of feels like a bit of a statement that i dont actually beling there now. The wont get any sun where the are now i will have to move them. Plus we have the hutch to bring up when we move anyway. They have moved the collapsable run up to my front door! Nowt like being wanted is there 😉😉

Horsemad · 10/08/2018 20:04

Sad Ouch Willow, bet you'll have a bruise tomorrow. Get the boys to run round after you. 🙂
I am so pleased to hear about your new house, is it far from where you are now?

Flowers 84, are you on an organised tour, or doing your own thing out there? I have a vision of you whizzing round all the sights like a whirlwind! Grin

chasing, same here with cold tap on bath but as we are having the bathroom replaced soon, we haven't bothered to get it sorted.

Sending good weekend wishes to all! CakeBrewWineGinGlitterball

Willow2017 · 10/08/2018 20:15

Horse its only 10 minutes away but in a small town. Will take some getting used to being so close to neighbours! Its in a 'circle' not on the main part of the street so thats a plus.
Need to get moving been blethering on phone to my aunt for an hour 😀

Ha ha i have new bathroom door handles that have been sitting in my bedroom for months too. Better put them on pdq to replace broken one. Right onwards with packing.

Willow2017 · 10/08/2018 21:47

Lol have lovely 'shiner' now. Very becoming😁😁

Horsemad · 11/08/2018 08:47

Steak is meant to be good for a black eye isn't it? But what a waste of steak - I'd rather grill and eat it!! Grin

Seriously, I hope it isn't too painful for you. Sounds like a busy weekend ahead of you but you are almost there now. Is the new house nearer/further from school?

Willow2017 · 11/08/2018 09:34

Morning all.
Horse

Its walking distance from.school about 15-20 mnutes ds1 will love it not 😁😁😁 ( but the exercise will be good for him)

Not keen on steak so never buy it😀 remember it being 'good' for black eyes though in all the comics i read when young. Load of nonsense though you would def be better off eating it.

Oh man i am aching all over and can hardly lift my right arm or grip with my hand this morning and my neck is stinging like mad. My eye socket is a lovely shade of reddish purple😁 wondering if it will be ok for work tomorrow. If i cant carry plates or use my hand i wont be much use and its 8 hrs non stop. Have taken paracetamol so will see if it works. If not i might phone and warn them and hope for best by tomorrow. I would miss the money but tbh a sunday away from there missing all the tantrums and shouting and sarcasm would not be too shabby.

Did more packing last night just odds and ends from my bedroon and cleared bathroom of stuff we arent using with ds2 helping.
Made a list of things still to do pages and pages!! Need more blooming boxes and bubble wrap!

Today need to go through kids school stuff see what i need to buy. I can hear ds1 moaning already😉

Sun shining but not happy as usually sit at my step for a cuppa in the sun but its now blocked by damm fence panel. Pooh.

Willow2017 · 11/08/2018 12:35

Have phoned work and said i may not be fit tomorrow but will call them in morning. Gave them a laugh anyway (spoke to 2 of the people i could happily work with evety day)
2 lots of painkillers and still cant lift the kettle or reach a kitchen cupboard without yelling out.😀

Done ds2 school stiff and he was in stitches as i pointed to drawer in my bed to get hand me downs out and yellped😀 he kept asking "which drawer mum?" Good job we can laugh as my plans for today are out window.

Now for ds1...oh dear just keep calm....

Chasingsquirrels · 11/08/2018 15:17

Ah 84, didn't realise that. Hugs x

Willow poor you, hope you are feeling better soon.

Went to see Mission Impossible with the boys and C last night then out for a meal. Seemed to go well. Then dropped the boys with their dad and C has come over for the weekend.

MrsJonesAndMe · 11/08/2018 19:33

Sorry I didn't see your message about it being A's birthday 84. Must be hard regardless of the surroundings. Sounds beautiful and exotic though.

Willow what are you like? It happened to MIL not long ago too. Hope that you feel better soon.

Horse, have you made progress with the bathroom choices.

That sounds like a good night out Squirrel.

Sure book is having a lovely wedding party as I type 😍

We've had another busy day. Coventry - transport museum, cathedral (of course) and then IKEA as mum knows about it but have never been - bit of an experience 😝

Night all x

Willow2017 · 11/08/2018 20:46

Evening all.
Busy day MrsJ sounds fun though.

Have been packing and ds have been helping fetch and carry for me. Ds1 made tea ds2 went to shop, school uniform all sorted out so they have been pretty good today.😁

Still damm sore though and really dont think i will make work if its no better tomorrow. Swelling right down my eyelid now and looks like i am wearing purple eye shadow badly Knees sore and bruised and arm still giving me gyp. What a wreck. 😁😁

Squirrels sounds a lovely time had by all. Enjoy the weekend with C.

Horsemad · 12/08/2018 09:44

Rain here, that fine drizzly stuff. 😏 I need to do a food shop & that's it for today!

Willow, how are you feeling? Make sure you take it easy for a day or two.

Sounds like the introductions went well chasing?

What did your mum think of IKEA MrsJ?

Willow2017 · 12/08/2018 11:09

Raining here too Horse but heavier than drizzle.
Not going to work still cant lift my arm further than my waist without yelping and still aching all over😀 but they were fine as not expecting to be too busy due to road works.
Having lazy morning as ds2 upin night with stomach cramps. Probably wind but very sore bless him. Had epiphany and dug out my anti spasmodics which helped.

All i have done is fed gp and folded washing. Need to get my act together and make most of day off. Need to get my list out😀

MrsJonesAndMe · 12/08/2018 12:57

Hello, we're back home and rain on they way home and some here now too.

Horse mum thought it was very interesting but too big Grin we didn't even go to the downstairs bit with all the towels, crockery and lighting as we walked miles and miles they and DS were all flagging

Oh willow I hope that it's better tomorrow. When do the boys go back to school? I hope they've been helpful today too - you must have a lot to sort out still.

Willow2017 · 12/08/2018 14:46

They go back 21st MrsJ
Same day of my cystoscopy!

Havent been in Ikea for years. It is a marathon to go round them. Bet your mum is thinking she hasn't missed much.😀

Got surprise visit from ex so kids were happy. He showed me how to disconnect washing machine and cooker too😀

Watched 'Sunshine on Leith' i am sure they put it on every festival time. Its nice seeing all the bits of Edinburgh we have just bern to and of course the songs are great😀

Packed up my winter clothes. Managed to squeeze them into one case with a bit of effort. My bedroom is getting smaller and smaller😀

Oh and i didmt realise but ex is hot on stuff like this from work so i csn take my vacuum back to Argos and get a new one as apparently its 6 years in England that you can return goods that arent working no.matter what 'warranty' they give you. Good to know.
Ds1 just made me a cup of coffee and was worried he made it too strong😀 Bless him it was fine.

Horsemad · 12/08/2018 15:16

I am glad to hear you are getting help Willow, not long now & you'll be UNpacking! Wink

The 6yr thing is to do with the Sale of Goods Act or something - stuff has to be 'fit for purpose'.

DH decided to do some DIY today so I was his 'mate'. Hmm Lots of passing tools to him as he was in the loft. All sorted now so hopefully that's it for a while.

Still drizzly rain here; managed to see a bit of the men's cycle race on tv (Glasgow) - wet there too!

bookbook · 12/08/2018 20:20

Evening all!
Read all the posts, but a bit weary ( ! :) ) .
Had a truly wonderful weekend , a beautiful wedding, it didn't rain until early evening . Bride was stunning , food stupendous , and lots of lovely family chat and laughter, yesterday and today.
I did the lions share of the drive home as DH was not too good , so we have had a bite to eat , I have had a bath to get rid of the kinks , and relaxing now watching athletics and doing a crochet square.
Catch up with everyone tomorrow

MrsJonesAndMe · 13/08/2018 06:24

Sounds lovely book

Another day of work and family - balancing all is quite exhausting, but at least we're all still talking Wink

84CharingCrossRoad · 13/08/2018 07:08

I went solo! Home now. Bumbledog was very pleased to see me. Was very delayed and got home two hours late. Got off the train at the station and looked down the platform in the dark and thought I was going mad. I knew my friend was coming to collect me with her bf but she stood there with his dog!!
I'm going to be making friends bf a cake this afternoon to say thanks. Also some banana muffins for friends as there are some manky bananas in the fruit bowl!

84CharingCrossRoad · 13/08/2018 07:12

Oh and I am honorary Auntie 84 now as baby Finley arrived almost two weeks ago. Had scummy cuddles with him the day before I flew to Rome!

Chasingsquirrels · 13/08/2018 07:55

Sounds like everyone ha had good or productive weekends.

Lovely time for you book, hope you have had a good night and are well rested and DH is okay x

Have you got a moving date Willow? Make sure those boys are looking after you.

Glad you are enjoying having your parents there MrsJ.

I laughed at being the builders mate horse, C has fixed a couple of things for me and I've hung around like a spare part.

Weekend has been lovely, just spending time together and getting to know each other. Finding our more of each other's history, good and bad, and what makes us tick.

Willow2017 · 13/08/2018 08:36

Morning all.

Oh my goodness I am stiff as a tacket this morning! My knee is particularly not happy Grin

Busy day today, dropping letter off to housing assoc then off to get school stuff for kids. DS2 need trousers and gym trainers and give me strength have to take ds1 for shoes....Shock Then food shopping.

Then probably more packing later. I would like to do the garage but its still flipping raining! Cant put stuff outside to sort out for skip. Ex gave me the name of a removal company local to him and I got an online quote which was much less than I expected although I dont know if I should pay more for the fancy inurance etc or just the basic. I really dont know if I need the all singing and dancing one for a couple of miles! I really need to count the boxes so far too as you have to give them an estimate of how many boxes etc. TBH once they add on the hutch, plant pots and other stuff it will prob go up a bit but thats ok. Will try to move as much of the small/precious/1st night stuff ourselves. I have no idea about this moving malarky any tips will be welcome.

Sounds like a lovely wedding Book (hope DH is feeling better today) and a good w/e Squirrels

MrsJ just relax I am sure it will be fine, my minded kids used to love it when my aunt came to stay as she sat and read stories, did jigsaws etc with us. THey practically ignored me!

Congrats 84 how lovely.
