Just starting off before we hit 1000 on the last thread...

Evening !
just about to start Willow, now I have everything out of the way !
So , so hot here today 31º on the car temp coming home this afternoon.
Had a lovely day, fabulous lunch, and a great afternoon chatting and catching up with my friend .
Have made an enormous pan of pasta sauce with loads of veg and tomatoes, so tomorrows meal is sorted, plus lots for the freezer :)
MrsJ - have you thought of covering up the tomatoes to let them ripen ? in a brown paper bag, or a cardboard tray with newspaper over it - just put somewhere out of the way, and they will ripen , if you want to wait.

I forgot about that Book used to put them in a drawer in kitchen.

Just got the one plant luckily! That's a handy tip, I could make chutney with half then as I have no idea what I'd do with all of it!

We're off to Lego to let DS splash around. Then I'm meeting a friend for coffee.

Phoned Sally army and they are coming to collect all the stuff wed. Will offload the smaller kids bikes in garage too they just need inner tyres fixing. Whooo. If i could sort out all the stair gate bits for each one they can have them too.😀

Had long lie tsk tsk. Curtains not open still in dressing gown at 10 and door knocked...blooming JW asking if i was interested in 12 step parenting plan!!! Erm who knocks on a door where the curtains are still shut? Not impressed but was polite peering round door surprised i didnt scare them away 😀 Aww theres the rain on there goes the washing.

Think i will go for that coffee and croissant...

Been down to the allotment this morning to water, done 3 loads of washing . -( Its just hanging there - very heavy and very cloudy, but no rain and quite warm , so its drying ) . So about to get myself up to get ironing done, and make a pan of mixed veg soup. Then off for a quick trip to pick up a few bits of shopping, and pop in to a see an old lady I know to have a chat .
Onwards and Upwards!

We did nothing to it and it had no water for the 10 days we were away apart from the rain on the final Saturday/Sunday

Well done, Willow that feels good. I have some stuff that I was thinking of taking over to the refuge, but there's never the time! Out of sight in the garage out of mind

Now at work till tomorrow morning.....

Lovely here , but yesterday stayed pleasant, rather than hot, and we had a short shower early evening which freshened things up just a bit .

Off to work in the shop this morning , and then a crafting sort of day from there on . I am shortening some curtains for a friend who has just moved, and doing another WH square .

No work today Book.

Not great day yesterday fed up waiting for kids to mive themselves so took Wi-Fi and went off for coffee myself. Back home i packed up some of my books Left router in car so ds1 not happy all day but neither was i. Better pm watched 2 film 4 'week of the dead' films with ds2😀 and fielded ds1s arguments as to why he should have Wi-Fi back 😀
Fed up with ds1 turning night into day and sleeping till afternoon. Have taken his phone so he hasnt a reason to lie in bed this am😀

Not sure what to do today. Want to go.out with kids but where? Also need to go through school uniform at some point and ds1 def needs new shoes.

Just checking in. Having a lovely relaxing time, although missing C, and John.

Finished work at 8.45 this morning and immediately went out shopping with my friend and her grandson. Spent £25 on Primark and then splashed out on these in the Clarks shop. Reduced from £69 to £25!!
Was going to wear them to Rome but bought a pair of ballet pumps with elastic ankle straps in Primark which are far more practical. Also got lots of little bits for my holiday! Now back at work till tomorrow morning!

Bit of a mixed day. Done more packing of photos that are everywhere (btw the Velcro stick on tabs for hanging frames do not come off without fuss got rips all over stair case wall paper but i dont care) more of my books and ornaments too.

Had a listen to some of my vinyl as i had to haul it out to pack it anyway. Bit teary as this isnt exactly how i imagined my life when i listened to them as a teen😔

Watched a bit of a series i missed on bbc now doing tea and need to do ironing later.

The missing C is good, cos I'll get to see him again when I'm back, the missing John not so much - and somewhat of a mindfuck when tied in with C. But it's all okay.

Aw Squirrel and Willow life doesn't work the way it's planned out is it? I think part of my panic cleaning is because I want my parents to think I've got my life sorted haven't obviously

I made 6 layers of rainbow cake, scones, brownies and the chutney that came out really well, thanks book and the rest in a box with newspaper over.

Also sorted the room for them including DH sorting the sofa bed and hoovering and me making sure there's drawer and hanging space, dusting etc etc and scrubbing the kitchen floor... I did not sit down from 7am till tea time!

Hope DS1 gets his head out of his arse and behaves himself Willow

How many squares are you doing book? I've done 2 for J'sOtherHalf but will see if I can do more once things calm down in September. I've told my mum to bring her needles/hook as I have lots of wool for Snug Squares.

Both DSs were working, so DH & I spent the day looking at new bathrooms God, I just want it done; the more I see, the less I know what I want! So much stuff to consider.

Also bought a new cordless Dyson - haven't stopped vacuuming since we got home! 😁 Although I am a bit at how much dust/cat fur/my hair came off the carpets I DO do some housework, honest!!

Have you heard anything about the house yet Willow?

MrsJ, I bet you sleep like a log tonight! I'm sure your parents are just itching to see you all & they won't be checking the level of housework!

Not a thing Horse i suppose i had better inform letting agents i wont be out by 7th😀 need to talk.to homeless guy as well i suppose.

Have applied for 2 mire recently but could be ages 2 of the original ones i applied for i havent been told i was unsuccessful for yet and thats weeks!

Off to bed dont suppose i wil sleep much its so hot tonight. Work tomorrow feel sick at the thought. Just waiting for bossman to kick off again.😞

Hot and sunny already , off to water shortly ...
Ended up here there and everywhere yesterday afternoon , by the time I took curtains back, and dropped in to an old lady we keep an eye on - her tv had gone on the blink, so DH had a look at it. Had to stop for a chat for half an hour after that , then went to water and do stuff at the allotment . Was wiped after that .
Back to not sleeping well due to the heat either.
MrsJ - the parents will be so glad to see you, they won't be inspecting I bet! You must be exhausted , all that in the heat we are having ( and its hotter with you) . I am on square #3 atm , and I may do a fourth, but I have a lot of other stuff to get done , so I will only do another when I have sorted out other pressing stuff first ( I usually do 3/4 depending on inspiration :) )
Willow (( hugs)) , I bet it gets you down , fingers crossed you will hear something soon.

Horse - its mind numbing looking at bathrooms. I hated the brochures, was much happier in a show room. Best tip I have ( makes you look a bit weird mind you) is choose the toilet first - and sit on them in the show room. There are a lot of very uncomfortable toilets out there !
Need to dash now - everyone here for tea , and a lot to get done before hand

Much calmer day today. I went back to bed for about an hour, then we took DS out on his bike and then I did scrub down the whole bathroom and hoover the stairs. Now got some bolognaise simmering.
