Had a verrryyy lonnng lunch.😀 Put the world to rights. And both are interested in some of my toys and books even my buggy for thier kids/grandkids so are coming thurs for a rake through it all. Yeah.

Been food shopping with ds1 as ds2 has sore back. Fridge and freezer are full up again they are eating me out of house and home! Rain this afternoon but got back in time to take washing in thankfully.
Enough rain now thanks bring back summer.

MrsJ my ex was like that hos bloody bike was treated to more attention than the rest of us put together. Him and his mate always had thier bikes in bits all over the damm garage!

That pud sounds lovely if a bit sweet but i could force myself to sample it😉

We have courgette and avocado or is it aubergine? cake at work but never tried it and it's been out far too long to try now its gluten free and has sold surprisingly!

84CharingCrossRoad · 30/07/2018 20:33

Muffins were lovely.
I'm off to see my mini me (great niece) and her brother tomorrow. Apparently she's been me since the day she was born!!!

bookbook · 30/07/2018 22:38

Evening!
a bit late ...
had an interesting day in truth . DH suggested going to get my new machine, so I did 2 loads of washing, got them hung out and then went to pick it up. We are having DGS overnight, so as sewing machine shop was in the opposite direction to DD's ( of course it was ...) we picked up the machine, had a bite to eat and went straight to pick DGS up - got there in time for a mid afternoon drink. Got home , made tea ( macaroni cheese as per request from DGS :) ) . Rushed out to a quick meeting ( only half an hour ) got back, bathed and put DGS to bed, sat and had a cup of tea . I could then get my machine out, unpack and check everything over , make sure it worked Grin Will be itching to have a try , but not until Wednesday .
Read all your posts, but it's gone in one eye, and out the other! Hope you are all okay though - fingers crossed on getting some bits gone Willow and fingers crossed for the cars MrsJ - 84 - mini me in looks or personality? Grin
Night all

Willow2017 · 30/07/2018 22:51

Been watching a prog on BBC Alba about delivery vans. That takes me back😀 used to love going out to the vans with my mum when i was a kid. We had 2 butchers, fish van and the co-op came round every week. Mum ordered her meat for the weekend and the butcher would bring it round friday night or sat morning. We also had a library van and of course the milkman every day.
Chatting with ds2 and telling him about the blue tits pecking holes in the milk tops and frozen collums of cream sticking out the tops of the bottles in winter😀
He was curious as to how the stuff stayed on the shelves till i pointed out the wood and bars at the front of the shelves
😀
It was all part of the conmunity then and better than a newspaper😀

He was fascinated we kept milk in a bucket of water as we never had a fridge till i was about 11 so fresh milk was necessary. My grandparents had a 'meat safe' in the garage to keep meat cool.
Changed days, well apart from up in the highlands and islands where i am pleased to see it still exists but for how long?

I must be getting old😉

MrsJonesAndMe · 31/07/2018 07:00

To be fair willow his bike is relatively new and low mileage - he doesn't spend much time or money on it.

I introduced DD to the concept of window shopping - she couldn't believe that shops were shut on Sundays Grin

Ah book hope tomorrow comes round quickly for you Wink

Enjoy your visit 84

Willow2017 · 31/07/2018 14:29

Afternoon all.
Housework here today and odd jobs. Even ds1 has hoovered the stairs and dusted!! and he said he will come with us tomorrow, is the world going to end or something? Ds2 has a sore foot, must have done something but didnt realise. He is feeling very sorry for himself Smile
Cant get my hosp appointments changed as the one is afternoons clinic only and other would be another week so dont think the haemotology Dr would like 6 weeks! But they said to check often for cancellations in the lead up to to it. Need to change the kids hair appoint now but cant get answer yet.
Work soon, they asked if I could work tomorrow but cant as off visiting and I have done a lot of extras for them lately so not feeling guilty at all Grin.

Nice day, windy so hopefully will keep the darker clouds moving and dry the washing. Having a sit down and a coffee while I think what else I should be doing Grin

Chasingsquirrels · 31/07/2018 14:40

Sorted packing this morning, I've got a pile of clothes and the boys are packed.
Went sandal shopping as ds2 left his flipflops (which he uses for judo) at his dad's and ds1 hasn't got anything - refused last year and just had his trainers which weren't ideal on the beach, so agreed even though he doesn't like them it would be a good idea to have some.
Got ds2 a bargain pair from Mountain Warehouse, ds1 a cheap but okayish pair from Shoe Zone and myself a reduced cheap pair from Peacocks. Plus Poundland sunglasses for ds2 and I and some sweets for us all.
Fly tomorrow for a week and just need to ask next door to check on the hens as the two people I've asked ate away, otherwise my dad will come over but it's a bit of a way.

Got a bit down last night, PMT combined with knowing I'll miss C over the next week or so and also missing John - bloody complex these emotions. I don't need anyone, but I do miss having someone to share the load with. C is becoming that person, but it's very early days, he is on the periphery of my life because of the boys anyway.

Feeling positive about the future after DH died
MrsJonesAndMe · 31/07/2018 20:35

She's a cutie 84

Hope work was OK Willow You don't owe them anything, so enjoy your visit - is this to your Auntie?

Squirrel I'm sure you're a right whirl of emotions. If nothing else, you try and rest and relax a bit. You've had a hell of a time of it.

Just about to start a WH square or 2. Sad that they're needed so often, but pleased that I can help a bit. Blanket is making progress too - over half way in squares now.

Hope you've had a good day with DGS book

Hope all OK Horse

bookbook · 31/07/2018 21:06

Evening all!
Willow - oh that brings back memories - the frozen cream curling over the top of the bottle in winter :)
84 - gorgeous girls both!
MrsJ - it is very sad, but I do like to make the squares. I've done 2, just about to think over #3 .
Chasing (hugs) - it must be really hard, however you analyse things, its the emotions that rule how it feels , isn't it . Enjoy your holiday and I hope the journey is stress free - ( I hate airports ...) and the weather is perfect for you :)
I had a lovely day with DGS - he was a little star, didn't wake up until 7 either ! But he didn't stop ( so neither did I ) His Dad picked him up just before teatime , so DH and I could zonk out while eating - :)
Have managed to find a bit of time this evening to have a little play practise with my new machine - I may be a little bit in love with it all ready Grin
Back to normality tomorrow. I want a good mornings work at the allotment , I need to iron the washing from yesterday , and get cooking some of the courgette mountain into something I can freeze!
Enjoy the rest of the evening everyone

Willow2017 · 31/07/2018 21:10

So cute 84

Yes MrsJ off to spend day with her tomorrow. Work not too busy but its still hot and humid so am knackered😀

Squirrels maybe the holiday will give you a bit of breathing space just to relax with the boys and have fun? Its bound to be hard to get your head around all your emotions.

Hope dgs hasnt worn you out Book😉

84CharingCrossRoad · 31/07/2018 21:44

She is so wonderfully crazy
She was galloping round the holiday cottage waving her arms up down and around. When asked by her Grangran what she was doing she replied " KNITTING "!!!
Of course she was!! 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂

bookbook · 01/08/2018 14:34

Afternoon all
Lovely here - great morning for working at the allotment, a bit hot now the sun has come out fully !
Willow - hope your Auntie is back on form again.
84 - get her started early on the knitting! :)
I am having a sit down after ironing, before I start sewing !
Still have mountains of courgettes to sort, but hey , do that later Grin
MrsJ and Horse - hope you are both okay
Have a lovely afternoon everyone

84CharingCrossRoad · 01/08/2018 17:59

Had my friend and her husband round this afternoon. It was her birthday on Monday so I made her birthday 🎂.
Tomorrow morning I'm having my eyebrows done... Doing a sleepover at work this weekend then have to start thinking about packing for Rome next week... Smile

MrsJonesAndMe · 01/08/2018 19:19

Good thanks, just busy! Just thinking of all the jobs I need to do before parents arrive Blush

Horsemad · 01/08/2018 20:09

All good here, been off today, so car MOT'd and haircut.
Should've done a few chores but didn't... Blush Never mind, they'll still be there tomorrow! Grin

Willow2017 · 01/08/2018 21:27

Evening all.

Lovely day despite tbe rain. Out for lunch and raked around dobies and ds2 got ice cream. Neither my aunt nor i bought pmants😲😲😲😲 they didnt have what i wanted to replace the pansies in my pots (Nemesia) so went to her local garden centre where she got them but they had sold out! Will try my g.c but not hopeful.

Ate too much cake and treacle scones at her house and came home laden with more😀
Rain and more rain at home too. Enough already.

Willow2017 · 01/08/2018 21:29

Plants for goodness sake!

MrsJonesAndMe · 02/08/2018 07:10

I love the sound of your aunt willow

Going to be a scorcher today!

Chores can indeed wait horse though I'm running out of time...dishwasher running with cleaner in as I type.

bookbook · 02/08/2018 07:32

Morning all
already lovely here .
Off to have my haircut this morning , then out for the day at the coast, meeting up with an old friend after lunch for a good natter :)
Tricky planting anything up at the moment with this weather Willow - I bet Dobies are not wanting loads of unwanted wilting bedding plants !
Had a lovely afternoon yesterday - made DGS a sunhat with the new machine. It is working beautifully , so am quite excited to do a few bits and bobs to try out its paces :)

Willow2017 · 02/08/2018 08:43

Morning all.
No problems with dying plants here last few days Book more likely to drown planting them out.😀😀 sick of the rain now its been raining through night too. Bit cooler this morning too had bedroom window open last night and put heating on to warm it up a bit when i went for shower!!

Need to get some cleaning up done before friends come for a rake through my stuff.

Have a nice day at the coast Book.

MrsJ my aunt is fab we have a great time sometimes its like having 2 kids with me😀

Chasingsquirrels · 02/08/2018 10:22

Not going to pretend I'm going the be able to keep up while we are away 😊.

Nice place, not as good as last year when I think we got an absolute bargain wkth the earthquake cancellation, but we will have a good week.

Its boiling again and sunny! Fingers crossed it stays that way for my washing.

MrsJonesAndMe · 02/08/2018 15:09

Have a lovely time Squirrel We'll be here in a week Grin

That's great news book I'm sure you'll find lots of projects to do. Hope you enjoyed the catch up with your friend.

Willow send some rain this way! Everything is so parched! Glad you got some stuff sold on. Win win.

Been busy. Just sitting down with the excuse of looking up a recipe for green tomato chutney - we've got 3kg of tomatoes from one plant - it just got so heavy that it was not going to be able to ripen, so picked it all, but now to preserve it!

Willow2017 · 02/08/2018 20:42

Raon didnt come back the black clouds went on and its been so hot and muggy and oppressive all day .

Need to txt one friend i am sure she gave me too much for what she took i didnt really see a lot apart from the big wicker ottoman she asked about first and it didnt register how much she gave me till
Too late 😀

3kgs is a lot of tomatoes MrsJ you are gonna be busy if they are all like that. Have you thinned out the other plants so they dont have so many trusses?

Enjoy the sewing machine Book but when will you fit it in?😉
