Feeling positive about the future after DH died

Just starting off before we hit 1000 on the last thread...

oh and no rain here, nor forecast. This is what my back garden looks like, dry ad a bone.

Well so much for housework😀 think sleepless nights caught up with me and i zonked out in chair for an hour! Have run round with litle hoover and tidied kitchen.

Ds2 going to a friends for the day so have to take him before work and collect him after work. They organised it between them so had to get him to clarify its ok to stay so long😀 kids!

Busy as usual Squirrels. Is this last day of term for ds?

Now doing a weekend sleepover at work.... Having terrible ovarian pains again. Doctor next week.

Afternoon all
well, I am bushed - woke up early so got up and had a shower , put washing in etc.Then out at 9 . I should , (at a guess ) have got home about 12-30 , but no , nearly 3 . Sat and had a quick bite to eat, then out to the shops to get stuff for the weekend, then off to water at the allotment. I have chucked a home made curry in the microwave, and finally sat with my feet up after watering the greenhouse at home .
I don't think much will be done tonight.
Chasing - the only consolation with the picture of the dead grass is that it will green back up when it rains at least! I hope your MIL is comfortable where she is, and not in any pain . (hugs) for you too - it is almost harder to be there and watch .
Horse - guess what - no rain here!
84 - that doesn't sound good - have you had it before/often ?. Hope you manage to get seen quickly.

Hello we are safely on the other side of the border and I have not bit through my tongue yet so far my children have been told they must finish their food as it costs money, she's handed down some of her clothes to DD (70yo vs 11yo fashion???) and tried to serve just very bizarre food to the grown ups which makes my food poisoning radar go up 🤔

On the plus side she baked cake, got the children involved in stuff, read a bed time story and I know she cares.

Early night with my slab of 85% Choc.

Rain here but none at home and our grass and plants suffering too.

Take it easy all of you, sound like you all need a rest. Be off early in the morning I hope - should take about 3 hours including stops.

I forgot to tell you of my surreal night...
Went to bed 12.30. Told kids to get into bed as still playing with friends on devices🤔 then i heard strange noises. Thought it was kids and as i am a bit 'out of it' on these meds thought i was hearing things at first as very strange noises. Then i realised it was coming from outside as my window was open. Neighbour breeds dogs? Even bigger than 'Bigdog' ..StBs. there were 3 of them running around in my yard oobviously escaped and maybe had seen a cat. What a lot of noise in the gravel and lots of snuffling round the cars. Then the security light went out so i had a bunch of furry 'dementors' running around in the gloom. I am tryng to shout quietly at them to bugger off home and they are ignoring me😂😂 2 left but one stayed a while. I wasnt going down in my pjs to round up the dozy beasts but i was getting annoyed at the noise😀 Houses are not together so couldnt shout across to tell them they had escapees. Might mention it next time I see them. The place is like fort knox apart from one bit there is only bushes so.they can get squeezed through. Not good if someone walking late at night with a dog due to heat (which i have seem regularly lately). Wouldnt want them reported or anything to happen to the dogs. Hopefully they wont be back tonight😀

Am starving what on earth can i eat that will taste vaguely palatable? (I also have dark choc upstairs but want something else first😉)

Bet you've already eaten now Willow but I was going to suggest tuna mayo toastie?

Hope you don't get disturbed by the dogs again, bet it WAS surreal, seeing them outside at that time of night!

Can't believe you didn't get any rain book! Ours didn't last long but it definitely cooled everything down - felt a bit chilly afterwards... I actually got wrapped up in a throw at one point

Thanks Horse but i tried tuna mayo yesterday and binned it it was
not nice 😐 i was naughty and had sausage and egg buttie and threw in some fried baby tomatoes😉 was actually better than i thought so maybe things will start to improve tomorrow although still have horrid salty taste in my mouth

Rain made it cooler here last few days actually was cold in the night without my counterpane on! Have had windows open and still roasting for a long time it was a surprise😀

We're going in a chalet - 3 bedrooms, so that helps

Just finished at horticultural show. Won the cordial class. Got third out of three carrot cakes. My brownies came third out of six. Victoria Sponge and pastor weren't placed. Now back at work. There was a the remains of a ready cooked chicken in the fridge so made a chicken curry and then boiled the bones for stock and made 🍅 soup!

Am shattered again. Late finishing they just kept coming and we had to say nope we are done. Ready to go home and people trying the locked door! But the difference in atmosphere is palpable when bosses are not there. Its crazy. They make it such a bad place to work. Without them its still hard enough work but we have a laugh and still manage to do everything just the same as if they were there mithering and stressing making it worse !

Soooo hot and oppressive here all day not pleasant to work in. Bring on a thunder storm to clear the air.😀

Came back to kirchen in same state as i left. Not happy one bit. Has been done by ds1 now. Havent checked so if its not right you might hear me😉 cannot be bothered to even think of tea yet, lazy bisom.

Ds1 has given me his rotten summer cold too. Soreish throat and down one side of neck really tender. Always something to annoy me.

Sounds like the show was good 84.

C came over last night, then took me over to Ipswich to see MIL in hospital - she is now on end of life care and it won't be long. Very hard as it's the same drugs, sedation etc as John. C waited in the car park for me for an hour and a half, held me when I came out then drove me back. Had a loan afternoon and early evening and he's just gone and the boys will be back soon.

Have been out and about today to the big market for nice bread and cheese. Went to see about buying some material to make DGS a pair of shorts and a sunhat , but nothing suitable sadly .
Other than that , a bit weary - was woken up exceedingly early this morning by NDN setting off on their hols at stupid o clock . They were not noisy , but lots of gravel crunching back and forwards filling the car, and muffled chat ( which is worse! ) Enough to wake me up thoroughly, then couldn't get back to sleep as it was too warm .
Just been sat with some crochet, watching golf , off to bed early for me !

Spent this afternoon watching DS play in a friendly for football. It was on the coast and was quite a bit cooler than inland.

Chasing, for you & MIL, it can't be easy going through that again but C sounds very caring.

Need to go scrub cooker again. I have a dried on puddle of something on the bottom of main oven. Been at it off and on since i came home. No idea what it is but nearly gone. Very black and shiney!

Having just reread my last post I feel I should point out that I didn't cook the local Baptist Pastor for the show but a PASTIE...
Mum is back at 🏥 tomorrow for her first cataract to be done. I'm seeing the doctor on Wednesday and then on Thursday night I'm out with Goddaughter 2 and her Mum to see a short version of Macbeth in the local pub garden...

But I had a really good nights sleep, and that makes everything bearable :)
Horse - fighting fit again I guess, and back to work , not so great!
Willow - hope you managed some rest - all those painkillers you poor thing , not good for your stomach either . I must admit , my go to thing to eat when nothing is right is cheese on toast ( or just toast if very lazy! )

Spent most of the morning watering and picking fruit and veg . Even went back to do more watering with DH this afternoon.
Chicken roasting in the oven, veg prepped, so feet up now.
I am going to do some sewing I think after tea - DH will want to watch the F! and golf, so I can potter with that and not get bored .

Trying to keep my eyes open, but shattered!

Just made an impulse buy. Bumble is a compulsive shoe pincher. He grabs them, buggers off and then won't give them back till he gets a treat. It's always Mum's best shoes too!
My friend was selling a shoe cupboard really cheap on FB so I bought it and then told Mum after. She was a bit as she wasn't sure whether a) it would fit and b) it matched her furniture but..... She thinks it's fab! PHEW!!!!!
If you get the chance listen to today's Desert Island Discs. Its Baroness Newlove who's husband was murdered. What a brave and interesting lady she is.

Ds2 did fried chicken for tea so having a couple of bits cold as starving, have had a scone all day at work no damm time/too hot. Am hunting out the dark choc later😉

Need a cuppa but ds1 doing kp duty so staying out the way😀
